Fledglings awaiting April organisation... and a plan - the Flylady thread

Welcome to the April Flylady thread. This is a lovely friendly thread where we loosely follow the Flylady system (see the Flylady website ) in the hope of having organised homes and lives.

Every day I will post a link to the launchpad which has everything you need for that day if you do want to follow the system strictly. Plenty of options to follow the system more loosely as well :).

Please do familiarise yourself with the Flylady website, especially if you are new. The Flylady is (understandably) keen that people do look at the website.

On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails but we would advise caution as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

Information on getting started: www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

The launch pad is also a good starting place:www.flylady.net/c/lp.php

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

Be kind to yourselves, jump in where you are and be careful not to crash and burn!

A daily summary (which should update automatically every day) is available on the Flylady website at flight plan here.

The link to the current zone and missions is [[http://www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions here].

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time, with varying degrees of success!

April’s habit is usually making your bed which is a nice easy one Smile.

beginner babysteps.

The best place to look for an overall summary is the launch pad.

Happy flying everyone.

Also a huge thank you to Chic for a lovely March thread as always.

Enjoy your crafting Chic! (very Envy today!)

And aw at the rather sweet "holding on to leaves and bits of plastic and twine stage" Foxes (no one will blame you for a bit of surreptitious binning though!)

And yes, good luck at work Lisette

Thank you for your kind thoughts. In work now trying to get problem solved. Need something ready for a launch at the end of May. Backwards planned with plenty of wriggle room. Needless to say major problem emerged unexpectedly. Other colleagues I'm working with are in Sydney. It's not a high powered job or anything but I'm desparate to get this right for those involved. Waiting to hear if colleague in another part of UK can fix it.

Wrists holding up for press ups but noticing weak core while doing them.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

How is it May tomorrow 😭

Turns out guilt is good for cleaning. I felt a bit guilty that I’m out on my own four days in a row (cinema yesterday then three gym things in a row) when DH is in pain so I got up earlier, put a wash on, cleaned the bathroom and washed up after breakfast (including the drainers which were yucky.

Gym workout done. Lisette push ups even modified are a no go for me so far, well done!

Lots more home ed done too and DH has made great progress with the wild area (small section next to the shed).

TooStressyTooMessy · 30/04/2019 16:06

Sounds like a productive day Cag Smile.

Thanks, I’m pleased :) just had a good English lesson with DD and her friend (just using a textbook really but I “run the lesson”). They’ve all gone to tap now and while I’m annoyed that cagletini left it ridiculously late to have a nap Hmm I’m also quite relieved as she’s asleep on the sofa and I can finally watch Netflix in peace :o

Cagliostro · 30/04/2019 16:58

I’ve been watching Consumed by the way, since I finished Marie Kondo. It’s a really good show. I was drawn in because the first episode is about a homeschooling family! I could really empathise with the fact she was struggling to get to the actual lessons because of clutter, although I do need to point out our house isn’t quite as bad as theirs :o it was much worse before we moved though, in our teeny tiny box of a house. Home ed is SOOOO much easier and more enjoyable since we moved. Far from perfect though and there is still a fair amount of time wasted trying to find the right books!

I'm still at the stage where dd will bring a leaf home from school and declare it precious and must be kept FOREVER - I hate to tell you this Foxes but my DD is still doing this in secondary school.

Anyway, very busy day at work, zero Flying, but a nice evening nattering in the sunshine with the other mums at football. Flying starts again tomorrow.
