How often do you REALLY change your sheets?

I know people claim to do it religiously every week or more frequently, but how often do you really change your sheets? I've a super king size bed and it's a gymnastics activity trying to change the sheet and covers!

Once a week minimum.

NormHonal · 16/03/2019 21:45

DCs beds: about once a month. We have SEN in the mix and DC1 needs to be consulted and give permission first.

Ours: is a real faff due to crap bedding that doesn't quite fit anything, and I have sciatica which makes it painful to do. DH never wants to do it. So probably about every 6 weeks? I get it washed and pressed at the dry cleaners because I can't lift the duvet cover when it's wet.

GivemeGivenchy · 16/03/2019 21:49

Every week without fail

ilovepixie · 16/03/2019 21:51

About every 5 days. I love a clean fresh bed.

GetOffTheTableMabel · 16/03/2019 21:54

Roughly every two weeks. DH is generally working away from at least once a fortnight so I try to time it so I get clean sheet night all to myself. I love clean sheets and I like to stretch out and inhale the sheets without sharing. Smile

cocopops88 · 16/03/2019 21:54

I do ours every 7/10days normally. We have a super king bed but a double duvet each which is much easier! I do my daughter's bed at the same time and the spare bed usually once a month but my in-laws normally sleep in there once a week. If someone else is coming to stay I will wash it again!

AppleJuiceFlood · 16/03/2019 21:56

Every week on a Sunday or a Monday. We do however share the bed with a massive hairy labrador so it needs changed weekly.

Well worth it for the big dog spoons. 😊

Katastrophy · 16/03/2019 21:57

Every single week. I love fresh sheets

EntirelyAnonymised · 16/03/2019 21:58

Once a week

Onehellofaride · 16/03/2019 21:59

Every week without fail on a Friday night or a Saturday depending on when I’m cleaning. DC fortnightly.

OohToBeAah · 16/03/2019 22:08

We do our pillowcases and sheets every week and our duvet cover once a month, maybe?
Although DP and I have just moved into our first home together in the last few months, so we haven't quite got our routine nailed down yet!

Ditto66 · 16/03/2019 22:09

Monthly or so. Just me in PJs, not so different from lounging on the sofa and that doesn't get washed so often! Also think of the environmental impact.

OutwithMyRemit · 16/03/2019 22:13

Every 3 - 4 weeks, to be honest.

Towels I change after a few days though, esp as the kids drop them all over the floor all the time.

OutwithMyRemit · 16/03/2019 22:15

Meant to add that we sleep in PJs, which are changed every few days.

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 16/03/2019 22:19

Sheets - every week or 2
Super king size duvet cover about every 3-4 weeks.

Place it inside out on top of duvet
Reach in and grab each top corner in turn pulling it down a little.
It just sort of shimmys down (similar to burrito method without rolling)

talktoo · 16/03/2019 22:20

Sheets once a week. Towels twice a week.

fedupandlookingforchange · 16/03/2019 22:22

I aim for weekly occasionally slips to nearly a fortnight especially if I’m very busy or it’s rained a lot. Hand towels twice a week, bath towels once a fortnight should really be more often.

Utini · 16/03/2019 22:24

In the winter, probably one a month or so. Maybe every two weeks in the summer. It's just me and 2 year old DD in the bed, and we both wear pyjamas, if I slept naked I'd change much more frequently.

anxiousmotherof1 · 16/03/2019 22:25

Every tuesday :)

MsMustDoBetter · 16/03/2019 22:27

Every week. Every fourth day in a heat wave/ high summer.

Chickenwing · 16/03/2019 22:35

Ok so I am that person who only does this every 2-3 months...it's a chore and I really don't see what the big deal is if your showering every morning anyway.

talktoo · 16/03/2019 22:42

Chickenwing if you are showering every morning then when you go to bed you have a days worth of grime, pollution, sebum and body oils you are grinding into the bed sheets. God forbid your pillow cases. Ew just really ew.

YouLikeTheBadOnesToo · 16/03/2019 22:43

I do ours and ds’ every Sunday. I’m a sahm though, so don’t need to fit it in around work. Ds is still in a sleep sack, so it takes literally 30 seconds to swap that over and change his fitted sheet.

whatamidoingwithmylife · 16/03/2019 22:50

Every Sunday the bed gets changed. I hate doing it as I have a bad back so it knackers me. I'd like to chance it twice a week though.

There's usually only me sleeping in the bed and I shower before sleep so it's clean after a week but just the thought of not doing it weekly makes me feel ill. Some of the answers on here are giving me palpitations 😄.
If my partner is staying he'll hint it needs changing 2-3 times a week but unless he's gonna do it for me it doesn't get done more than once.
