How often do you REALLY change your sheets?

I know people claim to do it religiously every week or more frequently, but how often do you really change your sheets? I've a super king size bed and it's a gymnastics activity trying to change the sheet and covers!

I would love to have clean sheets all the time but I can never seem to find the time! Probably every 3 weeks or sooner if the baby throws up on them Confused

tablelegs · 16/03/2019 23:25

Every second day. I love the feeling of clean sheets and I sleep much better.

Solo · 17/03/2019 00:03

Once a week, king size bed and I use a top sheet too. I did go through a stage of once a month but, I wasn't in a good place :(.
I change and wash the towels at least once a week and the hand towel twice a week minimum. Years ago, I washed all the towels daily after just one use each! I saw the light when I had kids!

BeerandBiscuits · 17/03/2019 08:55

I have no idea, I don't keep track. Just change the sheets whenever they seem to need changing.

EmrysAtticus · 17/03/2019 09:02

Every week but that's because the cleaner does it.

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 17/03/2019 22:32

All beds weekly.

Nothing better than getting into a fresh bed.

On changing bedding day I strip the beds in the morning and leave the beds to have a good airing with the windows open.

I don't make my bed in the morings, instead I leave it open all day to air.

Obsessed with airing the beds and bedrooms, opening windows even in the winter. On the weekend dh keeps closing them drives me batty.

Ribbonsonabox · 17/03/2019 22:34

No idea either... probably less often than I should really! It's mostly just whenever I remember... so less often than once a week.
I change my childrens every week or more if needed.
Cant always be bothered to do my own that often.

ladybranstonpickle · 18/03/2019 09:33

Every Thursday! But our cleaner does it.

When i unwell last year for about 6 months, I would change it on Mondays too, as I had terrible night sweats and other unpleasant things.

I love clean sheets - like a PP if I had the time and money I would have hotel-level pressed cotton sheets and change them every other day.

JaneEyre07 · 18/03/2019 09:41

I'm going through peri-menopuase so change the bottom sheet and my pillowcases every couple of days, then the duvet cover about once a week. I love getting into bed with clean sheets and would do it every day if I could cope with the washing and ironing (superking bed).

I leave the bed open to air every day too and only pull the quilt over at night. Rest of the time the bed is airing with the windows wide open... to DHs utter disgust. Says he needs his coat on to go into the bedroom Grin

DirtyDennis · 18/03/2019 09:48

Honestly, hand on heart, every two weeks. I change the pillow cases every three days.

We should change them more often as we have a dog who spends half the night in bed with us I'm not sure how to manage the washing that'd come from that.

sugarbum · 18/03/2019 09:54

Fortnightly. Possibly even every three weeks. I don't see an issue with it since everyone in the house has a shower/bath before bed.
The kids help me make their own beds now (and the joy of them no longer being in bunks is still with me)

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 18/03/2019 10:30

I aim for fortnightly but it's often longer. I don't have a set day/routine with them so I lose track of when I last did them.

ginyogarepeat · 18/03/2019 10:38

Every single week. No tumble dryer here either but we manage! Think it's a bit gross beyond that.

LikeACowsOpinion · 18/03/2019 11:17

I've mentioned this before and was absolutely torn to shreds.. but I do mine and DDs daily.

Wash, tumble dry and back on the bed within about 3 hours.

It's nuts but I can only sleep in a clean bed (and there is a slight mental health aspect also.)
The thought of a bed being made after being slept in, with all the germs crawling about, makes me feel quite ill - but I know that is purely my irrational brain.

LikeACowsOpinion · 18/03/2019 11:19

Meant to add;

I have chronic pain (RA and EDS) and would rather be in agony than not have a clean bed - that's how bad it's gotten.

MondeoFan · 18/03/2019 11:24

Once a week or 10 days, just myself using the double bed though

TheVonTrappFamilySwingers · 18/03/2019 14:45

@Mum2jenny the OP didn't mention mobility issues; the majority of adults do not have mobility issues they just can't be arsed to change their beds; I have full sympathy for people with conditions that hinder daily activity for them so don't be so patronising.

BuckingFrolics · 18/03/2019 14:57

Lots of places in heaven awaiting all you clean sheet people. You're all barking. It's a waste of time water electricity and cotton.

Scoutsrus · 18/03/2019 14:59

Every Saturday.

Only me in the bed (it’s a double).

Megan2018 · 18/03/2019 15:01

We have 2 superking beds and I find it really easy? I'm only 5ft 4 too.

They are never on more than 2 weeks - I usually wash weekly but sometimes has been longer if we've had a really busy week and I've just run out of time to get all the laundry done. I love clean sheets!

happyhillock · 18/03/2019 15:04

Honestly once a week on a saturday morning, very fussy to about towels there washed twice a week .

KateCantab · 18/03/2019 19:37

I wash the complete set every other Monday, but change pillow cases every week. We wear PJs which I wash every few days. Bath towels get washed weekly. No tumble drier but we converted our large airing cupboard into a sort of drying room which works for me.

Bluntness100 · 18/03/2019 19:48

It's weekly here, our cleaner does it, and she's tiny and very quick, it's a super king. The other beds are changed and made up again after someone sleeps in them, ie if our daughter is home for a few days or guests to stay, the beds are always changed again immediately after, and made up again, we have friends and family staying often so seldom is a bed made up for more than a couple of weeks before someone sleeps in it.

user1498572889 · 18/03/2019 19:59

Once a week in the winter. Twice a week in the summer if it’s sweaty Betty weather.

Mitsouko67 · 18/03/2019 20:04

Fortnightly like miss mouse. Ours one week, DC the next. Love clean sheets. Obsessed with bed linen.
