How often do you REALLY change your sheets?

I know people claim to do it religiously every week or more frequently, but how often do you really change your sheets? I've a super king size bed and it's a gymnastics activity trying to change the sheet and covers!

About as often as this question comes up on MN Grin

Every 2 weeks on a Monday. Towels are washed on the other mondays. It dries up on the roof in the sun and seabreeze so takes about an hour.

huggybear · 16/03/2019 16:50

Weekly... I can't fathom 3-4 weeks.

Frouby · 16/03/2019 16:50

How is it difficult to change a duvet cover?

Duvet cover inside out. Grab each corner of quilt, it doesn't matter if it's not straight. Lift duvet up as high as you can then flick it onto bed.

Then pull the bottom corners into the corner, doesn't matter if its wonky just make sure you have the corners. Fasten poppers or buttons. Grab corners, make sure you have a handful of each corner of duvet, and shake a few times.

I have more problems getting fitted sheets on deep mattress. Duvets are easy.

fleshmarketclose · 16/03/2019 16:54

Weekly or even more often in the summer when I can hang them outside . Fortnightly when they have to be dried inside.

HumptyNumptyNooNoo · 16/03/2019 16:55

Every week on a Sunday night - have a 7' bed with 9' duvet cover - use the plastic clips that you seal bags with on each corner and shake duvet like a wild woman . It's easy when you get used to the weight .

onemouseplace · 16/03/2019 16:56

Weekly, on a Tuesday when my cleaner changes the beds. Kids alternate weeks though.

pallisers · 16/03/2019 16:56

Every friday.

SusieQ5604 · 16/03/2019 16:56

Once a week. Every Thursday

WednesdaySpinner · 16/03/2019 16:57

Every other Sunday

killpop · 16/03/2019 16:58

Mine weekly.
Kids... whenever they get off their arses and strip the bed for me, usually a couple of times a month-ish.

Curiousmum69 · 16/03/2019 17:00

Maybe every 2 months or so ;)

Vanillamanilla1 · 16/03/2019 17:02

Probably Once a month or more ..we are not dirty we don't sweat if anything I'm freezing cold in bed every night
Like towels , only when they start ponging ... you are drying very clean bodies , there's no dirt ?.. they only smell because of the wetness not because they are dirty .. getting out of a shower is cleanest you'll be

mommybear1 · 16/03/2019 17:02

Every week - Friday - fresh for the weekend Wink

NerrSnerr · 16/03/2019 17:03

Every 2 weeks but only because that's how often our cleaner comes and she does it for us!

Singerleon · 16/03/2019 17:04

Weekly for our bed and fortnightly for the DC

Lost5stone · 16/03/2019 17:05

Everyone gets new towels and bedding on a Sunday. It is a faff without a tumble drier but it's all dry by the Tuesday.

Dermymc · 16/03/2019 17:10

Where do you all dry it without a tumble drier?

I reckon every 3-4 weeks over winter. More often in summer when I can dry outside.

Ballbags · 16/03/2019 17:15

Every week.

Once a month is unbelievable. Four weeks of sweat, bodily fluids and dead skin? Yuck.

Generationrenter · 16/03/2019 17:16

Every week on a Sunday morning, always dry by the evening if hung over doors/stairs.

Lost5stone · 16/03/2019 17:20

dermymc we live in a flat so no stairs therefore the sheets and duvet covers go over the doors and towels and pillowcases go over an airer

killpop · 16/03/2019 17:21

We have a dryer, but dry outside when possible.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 16/03/2019 17:22

Once a week for duvet cover and bottom sheet, twice a week for pillow cases

CouldBeAnyoneReally · 16/03/2019 17:24

Dear God that burrito method looks like an absolute pita Confused

I work in a hotel and change up to 30 beds per shift, four or five times a week. The inside-out method is the most efficient for me. Strong arms help.

At home I change ours every other week, and bizarrely I don’t change mine and the dc beds on the same day as three beds seems like far too many to do in one go - despite my previous statement about work Hmm

Chosennone · 16/03/2019 17:25

Every 2 weeks. More if its hot and sweaty and/or lots of sex has happened. DS 13 is 2 weeks too. More in summer. DD 11 i will push to 3/4 weeks with her rotating pillows as she's not sweaty or smelly yet.

dudsville · 16/03/2019 17:27

Weekly, really. It's such a pleasure to me. I even on occasion drop down to 5 days.
