No delayed exit for clutter - March Flylady Thread 2019 for fledglings!

ChicCroissant · 28/02/2019 09:40

What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Cool new name :o

Just got back from the pub. I’m totally flying today :o I did more on the exercise bike (while watching anime - found it actually helped me concentrate as I couldn’t get distracted by my phone and miss the subtitles!) put another wash on and walked to the local for a refillable pepsi, read a few chapters on the kindle and made some home ed planning notes. Pub was basically empty (they do a breakfast thing but that tends to be earlier from the premier inn it is attached to) so nice and peaceful!

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/02/2019 12:54

Cagliostro · 28/02/2019 14:33

Oh gross 😰😷

All I can do is throw chocolate in your general direction.

I have done a reading age test with the Caglets ready to start a scheme called Toe By Toe tomorrow. They actually scored quite high but they aren’t fluent at all so it’s worth going back to basics I think.

MogTheSleepyCat · 28/02/2019 18:12

Signing in. February can go do one as far as I'm concerned.

Some of you might know I am a manager in a GP surgery. I went AWOL from the February thread as we were given our two week notice of a CQC inspection. One of the two weeks was the half term week and as a result it was a fucking nightmare. I won't bore you all, but the inspection took place, seemed to go ok, but they don't give on the day feedback at all, so we have to wait two weeks for the final rating.

So very little got done at home during this time and I am now starting to catch up on all the flying.

Ta Da
Put out all recycling bins
Fed cats
School run x2
DW emptied, on, emptied again, then topped up salt, rinse aid and ran a cleaner through
Hung up wet washing, put on more washing
Sorted through huge pile of paperwork - managed to file the important stuff and recycle the rest
Called car insurance company to start proceedings against the twat that drove their camper van into my parked car on the weekend and then left the scene. Thankfully a witness saw the whole thing and got in touch with me.

I took some time owing to me from work today and had a day out to myself during school hours which was lovely. I went for a lovely walk in the country side for a few hours and picked up some geocaches, then went to town and treated myself to a few bits and pieces, including coffee and cake whilst I read my kindle. Bliss.

Bowerbird5 · 28/02/2019 18:15

Creeps in quietly and leaves Swiss chocolate with Oreo in haughty corner. Tip toes out.

And no I don’t know how to get it out but I would light a candle for when it heats up. No consolation but DDs cat had shit on the good carpet in the sitting room and it was a bit cough cough runny when I picked it up in paper towel and stinks. DH hadn’t noticed and said even if he had he wouldn’t have cleaned it up 🧼 I told him he needs to MAN UP. At least he is in a better mood than last night.

Thanks for Feb thread and starting March bless you.

Ta Da today
Pre work
Washing in drier.
Dishwasher unloaded and away and all last nights from tray.
Breakfast for me...this is a bonus and rare on a work day.
Fed cat and chicken
Made tonight’s tea and put it in to slow cook in bottom oven. Beef in red wine...I didn’t drink all that bottle last week.
Washed up and wiped worktops
Packed bag

Went to work

Forgot there was a meeting oops!
Worked hard, on duty. Grabbed a tea and had a wee ( now 5mins not 15 mins🤨)

Bought sandwich another customer accused me of queue jumping but she was standing outside the door shouting profanities down the street so I skirted her and went in.She followed and made some comment about queueing. I rolled my eyes at shopkeeper gave my order and left quickly. Taught KS2 and home by 4:30 as no paint out today😀
Washing inDh got sons in and left mine out.
Potatoes are on and I had a little nap.
Need to add mushrooms and cook beans. Oh and you can see all of the kitchen table and most of the dining room.

RESULT!😁

MogTheSleepyCat · 28/02/2019 18:15

Zoo re the cat sick, when my darling creatures did this I dealt with it by putting an empty washing up bowl under the radiator, then using a baby bottle cleaning brush in a separate bowl of soapy water, to scrub down the radiator partitions. It was grotty, but believe me, the smell of cat sick being wafted round the house and made worse by the heating coming on was a far worse prospect! Good luck

Bowerbird5 · 28/02/2019 18:19

And Mog sneaks in while I slow type.👋

Sounds like you deserved it Mog.

Bit like an Ofsted! Only we only get two days notice.

Bowerbird5 · 28/02/2019 18:20

Ooh good idea. I was trying to think of something slim enough.

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/02/2019 18:32

It took an hour scrubbing away with soapy pipe cleaners then rinsed it thru with more soapy water.ive turned off that radiator.scoutcat has confined him self to cat carrier.which is equivalent to be in doghouse.im still miffed as it's like £130 on care for you and you do that to us?!he scratch dd2 last night in face for no real reason too.hes stir crazy but still....

foxessocks · 28/02/2019 20:00

zoo our cat is regularly very mean to all of us and yet we keep her around for some reason - that's cats for you I suppose. I don't envy you that clean up but well done for tackling it!

HillsBesideTheSea · 28/02/2019 21:24

SC yay for the calvery!!!!

ChicCroissant · 01/03/2019 00:36

Well, it appears I'm not the only one to be glad to see February's rear!

Was it someone's birthday today, or their child? I had Thursday in mind for some reason, apologies if I've forgotten.

You've certainly had busy days, inspection notices (bad) poorly cats (ew, why do they head for the radiators? the warm factor I suppose). A big yay for support for SC though.

I should totally have put the link in the first paragraph, kicking myself that I didn't. As if it would change anything anyway, bwahahah!

Tonight, this update is brought to you by Wine Yes, I know it is only Thursday but it has not been the smoothest of weeks.

The new name - it popped into my head after the last data debacle, so I registered it and thought I'd use it for the new thread. I do resemble half of the name IRL, but sadly it's not the chic part ...

Not sure if anyone here is expecting secondary school allocations today but good luck if you are! It can be unexpectedly stressful picking a school.

Up as lil zoo throats still bad.on sofa she's laying asleep on my legs

Just had email she's got first choice secondary placement and will be joining dd2 and local girls school.dd1 went there too and whilst you get a bit if drama llama with all girl's,educationally it's very good and dd1 excelled,dd2 above GCSE targets already
I've did you get chosen school for D's?

It's weird be awake but not doing owt this time of day,but I don't want to risk waking her when we've been awake couple times in night...maybe another trip doctors on horizon...will see how she is once we get up(have shift arse 7 to make sure dd2 gets up and keep D's in routine)meanwhile I shall check BBC news and continue current voracious readers book ploughing thru

IVEgottheDECAF · 01/03/2019 09:34

We did zoo and i just came on to ask you the same! Ds1 and all 3 best friends all got in same school which was first choice for all so happy days! This is my first time with secondary schools! So much to think about!

ChicCroissant · 01/03/2019 09:56

Yay, lovely news that you got the first choices school-wise, ladies! I found even looking at secondaries a bit stressful, then the allocation day was another hurdle!

DH is off work today, we have started with a coffee and croissant which is lovely and I am full of enthusiasm for a new month (as always). I am still coughing but feeling better overall. Found I was short of a few food items this morning despite shopping yesterday, my brain is still a bit fuzzy - still, DD was happy to accept a substitute to her usual morning snack for school.

Awaiting call from garage ... I hope it's sorted today, need to book a retest for the MOT!

Stilllivinginazoo · 01/03/2019 14:10

Well after that excitement we had a world first....
First to get thru to doctors surgery when it opened and app for lil zoo at 10!!!
Had throat swabbed and as what can be prescribed and what can just be bought has changed we had go buy difflam spray.if worsens again get help.swabs back mid week

Got home to letter from D's school saying as attendance has dropped below 50% they have no choice but to involve LEA.FFS, not like we aren't trying to sort things

Cagliostro · 01/03/2019 17:49

Ffs zoo how ridiculous 😡🙄
Glad to hear about secondary places!

My two tried a Lego club today and we started using the dyslexia reading scheme so I’m feeling quite positive. Also booked a trip to a concert and workshop thing. Spending so much money though. Oops.

Stilllivinginazoo · 01/03/2019 18:22

cag I've spent shedloads can't afford last few days on crap junky food that's sent my anxiety and depression soaring....

Need go shopping tomorrow properly with dd2 as "d"p be twat again and start eating real food as I'm spiralling to dangerously low levels.place is a filthy sty and I just don't care.im bone chillingly cold(even in heat of summer I get that when I'm really down)and have no motivation to do fuck all

It's been a long stressful week of poorly zoolets, troublesome cats,dd2 ranting at school issues, trouble D's school and his anxiety s been bad and I feel utterly drained by it all

I will not rant about this again as I'm turning into a right barrelload of chuckles I promise

Bowerbird5 · 01/03/2019 19:28

zoo I ‘m not surprised that is a lot on one persons plate. Please rant as much as you like.
At least you got the school choice. I didn’t have time to ask my Yr6’s as I had time for a wee and to pass on a message and that was all at lunch. One mum told me this morning that her DD had her first choice. I have her DD and taught her, her sister and her brother🤭
I get cold when I am tired. My skin goes really cold to touch.

DCat shit and weed on the carpet again luckily I had newspaper down.
DH has barricaded it off. I wish I could show you part of it is the cat mat which is about 8” high😬😂🤣does he really think she won’t jump over it. So tomorrow I will have to get the Vax out of the bottom shed.

Due to me forgetting the milk last night I had no breakfast and due to over run of parents group and early start of Reception I had no lunch. I did have a biscuit at break time. So on the way home we stopped at butchers for weekend meals and 🎣 and 🍟 s and had our tea at 4:45 pm. So washed up apart from bowl from ice cream. I’m still coughing so had extra😁
DH looks like he may have vacuumed the sitting room. He hasn’t bothered to empty the dishwasher or make my bed. Can’t see anything else he has done. I know he is tired and just back but a little more support wouldn’t go amiss.

I’ve you must be pleased. I didn’t have that problem as my boys went to a rural catchment school and their Primary was a rural feeder school. DD went to a faith school and we knew we had a place because the HT told her when we had a look around and an interview with him. She was an altar server at the time so walked straight into a place. It must be awful having to wait.

Stilllivinginazoo · 01/03/2019 20:19

bower be careful what you want carpet with!!anything ammonia,or doesn't remove all residue will be a popular spot.i use wash up liquid then let dry.bicarb it.hoover.zoflora.complex mix but works for me😂
