No delayed exit for clutter - March Flylady Thread 2019 for fledglings!

What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Ranting is fine zoo and can be cathartic - go for it, it's a safe space here!

My car has finally been sorted so it's good to have it back. DD is still sneezing so I hope it's not the start of another cold for her. Normal service should be resumed next week!

I'm going to head up for an early night. Link next - sleep well, fledglings.

Saturday 2nd March

Launch Pad

Habit of the month is getting dressed (to shoes if you like to) first thing in the morning. Laying clothes out the night before really helps with this, I find.

I agree zoo ranting is helpful go for it as much as you need!

Yesterday I dealt with the worst poo explosion ever from ds and dd wet the bed too so that was all fun. Luckily both dc seem okay today , despite constant arguing.

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/03/2019 08:58

foxes

Yesterday i went up stairs for literally two mins, by the time i came down ds3 had shit up to his shoulders. It was disgusting. 🤢

Bowerbird5 · 02/03/2019 09:23

Seems like most of us have been dealing with poo this week...cats or kids!

Feeling dozy. Ned motivation to get up. Took tablet too late so still have the affect of it. 15 minutes more then I am up.

Good point zoo. Might just do it by hand yuk.
It is a wool carpet the only decent carpet in the house. So have to watch shrinkage / felting too.

Need to do.
Ironing
Strip and remake bed.
Tidy bedroom.
Make sure clothes are ready for tomorrow for choir competition.
Find sandwich box.
Get DH on hunt for dresser plates etc.

Kitchen is clean and tidy so dining room target as sitting room just needs carpet sorted and a box removed.
Just remembered need to go to the bank so trip to town at some stage.
Pop back to see everyone here.

ChicCroissant · 02/03/2019 10:32

Well DD has gone down with another cold, she is sitting here with a streaming nose. I hope it's not my bad one from last week! About to calpol her up so she can make her usual Saturday activity then she can rest for the remainder of the day.

It's quite nice and sunny here just now, I was expecting the storm they have been talking about. Good day to hang out laundry!

Will be back later!

Grey and cloudy here

And i have been drawn into a debate about tea Hmm

Cagliostro · 02/03/2019 11:39

Oh no sorry about all the poop and colds!

I feel relatively healthy just stressing over money. It has forced me to finally offer piano etc again as I pretty much stopped during pregnancy

Sanguineclamp · 02/03/2019 13:59

Sorry to hear of colds and various poonamis and voms Gin. Hope all small people and animals recover soon.

Cag I am going to attempt to spend NO money on clothes for myself this year. I may need two pairs of jeans in the Autumn but we'll see. Combined with this I am going to try and lose weight this Lent starting from next week (Ash Wednesday) and beyond so the plan is to fit in to some smaller sized clothes that I already have!

And there is nothing like having an eco conscious teen in the house to prod us in to thinking about how much we consume overall and from which sources. Going to try and make some serious changes. First to go is cling film and plastic bottles.

First Calvary member departed today. Very Sad to see her go.
Babies coming for a return visit tomorrow before they depart to another country Sad so need to plan/assemble simple meal. Taking it easy today though overall.

Stilllivinginazoo · 02/03/2019 15:00

SCOUTCATS DE CONED AND HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!!!!

Sanguineclamp · 02/03/2019 15:29

No Zoo I wish it was! We are holding a fund-raising soup supper (annual event) for Cafod's family fast day and supporting dd who is participating in the Cafod's Give it Up youth campaign (money going to developing countries). Our parish is also doing something for the Pere Damien anti-leprosy campaign for which we are taking part in three different activities (if I'm up to it!).

DD and a friend (via her school) will also be helping out the Little Sisters of the Poor during Lent who serve dinner every night at six pm to those in need in an impoverished area of the city (they go on Wed evenings and help serve serve and wash up). I'm hoping she will want to continue with this after Lent as well though; studies allowing!

Lovely idea to do something positive/add something every day!

Lovely re: dd2's retail treat! Enjoy your pampering afternoon!

Lisette1940 · 02/03/2019 15:35

catching up here. Been very busy at work. Leaves coffee and donuts in naughtier corner.

Lisette1940 · 02/03/2019 15:36

Sorry, naughty corner. Although perhaps there is a naughtier corner for those of us who haven't been around much lately.

MogTheSleepyCat · 02/03/2019 15:37

Afternoon fledglings. Ick to all the poop and puke! Hope everyone is better soon.

I was thinking of giving up takeaway food for lent - especially drive through McDonalds (please don't judge me). Mostly I just get coffee and muffins in the mornings before work, but it is a total waste of money, and not all that nice, I just do it out of habit.

I purposefully having another quiet day, just cooking a healthy dinner and getting some laundry done.

Sanguineclamp · 02/03/2019 15:47

I must admit that I'm rather partial to an egg McMuffin Mog usually snaffled whilst driving dd to some hideously early equine event. Well teens have hollow legs don't they and that's my excuse Wink.

Lisette if there was an even naughtier corner I would surely be in there!

Stilllivinginazoo · 02/03/2019 15:51

SC why did I know in my heart you would have a mountain stuff going on,even though you should be resting and recouperating!I know what you mean about studies and other activity balance dd2 does 2-3 hrs a night homework, some weekends are full revision.its all very full on and she's stressed and wanting eat bodyweight in junk food😞felt jeans were better than the doughnuts and eclairs she wanted earlier....

I think I live in the naughtier cornier btw...

One load in dryer, more in.will take most weekend get it under control as I've 6loads more, not including bedding or the two loads of towels

Sanguineclamp · 02/03/2019 16:03

Well I signed up for them last year tbh Zoo in ignorance of the fact that I would be recuperating. Two friends have v kindly offered to help with soup supper thankfully as we are making vats of the stuff and I can't lift heavy pans! I'm intending to sit in comfort at table and chop mounds of veg! Should be an interesting week actually as have Cheltenham Festival (Gold Cup) Tues-Fri, Brexit vote(s) 12th/13th/14th, and Family Fast Day (soup supper) is on the Friday! Glad it is half term this coming week so can rest up in advance Grin

Stilllivinginazoo · 02/03/2019 16:33

Take it steady!!

ChicCroissant · 02/03/2019 16:44

DD still sneezing well here, but claims to feel better than this morning (she does look a bit better to be fair).

SC, aw, sorry to hear your very necessary support is on the way home at the moment. Don't do too much tomorrow, it will only slow things down long-term. I had quite a nice wander round Primark myself this week zoo, waves to all fledglings and will be back later (no battery left on laptop and sharing chargers at the moment)!

Thanks all! I promise to take it steady!

Glad your DD on the mend Sass!

A butler would be very helpful right now Zoo and a chauffeur tbh! Grin

Laundry building up here too! (sigh)

Bowerbird5 · 02/03/2019 20:47

What you need is a maid than can drive!

Rather pleased with myself. I haven’t done those chores as I remembered I needed to sort some banking. Went into town and went to bank mine gave me some wrong advice re another bank so I had to come back and wait again. It took about an hour with three visits. Anyway sorted and I have uncovered a strange happening since October so have to check it isn’t DD. Then get back to them.

So tonight no procrastinating I sorted out my new LA card and paid off some of it. That is what I am pleased about something I might have put off before. So they are sending me a new pin. I have activated it and paid some of it thanks to a helpful young man.
Been to Mass too.

DH being a bit of an arse.i admit I have been a bit tired and stressed.. work keep changing my timetable but she is not informing me...argh Penny has dropped. I complained last time. I was given two minutes after I walked through the door to be told I was teaching Yr 5 all day.i had lots of things planned for the morning and I was given no planning. I rang my friend who was off but she wouldn’t answer the phone. I was stressed to the point of tears. I muddled through but it isn’t good enough I felt I short changed those kids. I don’t usually stand up for myself but I did that day on their behalf.
So yesterday I needed a repeat prescription had not had tablet the day before and they faxed an urgent and arrived after school. Last night I was in bed and realised I didn’t have them I couldn’t find them and same tonight but I had sat in church with my heart racing so I naturally was anxious. Couldn’t find them and asked DH who suggested handbag and I did snap when he suggested it a second time duh I had already looked there and jacket pockets. Did he help no just stupid suggestion which he saw me do. So then he got all arse. I went back out to car and found they had slipped under the seat. If it had been the other way around I would help him look as I did last month. I was quite rude to him and said “ Doyou WANT me to have a heart attack?” I have had one and he didn’t even come home but at the moment is all concerned over his back to back who had a heart attack last month. I don’t remember getting that much concern. I was in hospital for five days. The eldest looked after DD who was only fourteen. What makes men tick?
So tomorrow up early and on a bus to choir comp for the whole of the north. Must go have a practice. We have a drop box for each section.

Bowerbird5 · 02/03/2019 20:47

That! Aargh!
