No delayed exit for clutter - March Flylady Thread 2019 for fledglings!

What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

cag it's only princessing if you use a brush/comb.running fingers thru and putting in bun etc doesn't count
SC hope got bit more done before help left
Foxes well done!(hope cake was nice)
Stressy the thought counts so put gym stuff on is still a win!!

Camhs was interesting.we looked at sensory distractions as D's struggles being in his room in evening whilst I give dd2 bit of time.lil zoo us upstairs and has tendancy lure her in with dvds for company when she's Kent to be settling with book/getting ready to sleep!
I was surprised how much he loved glittery liquid in soft pliable ball, and fibre optic light.they had no soft/fluffy/furry fabric which are his go to,along smooth stones.our target is to look at building up a little box/bag things he can self soothe with.next week we are going to open up topic negative thoughts which is already being met with resistant as he can't stop "the bad thoughts" once he stops distracting and gets totally overwhelmed with anxiety.i get it's necessary to deal with them, and know it's long and slow process .it's going to get a lot more stressful here me thinks...

Tuna Fishcakes with carrots and green beans for little ones tonight .a reduced cherry pie leapt in the basket in co op as I picked up bread and I couldn't seem to wrestle it out so that's pud sorted with some Greek yogurt and possibly a grating of chocolate

Cagliostro · 04/03/2019 21:36

DH had his phone nicked earlier. Pretty much sums up our year so far

TooStressyTooMessy · 04/03/2019 22:03

Sewing job went OK although I did leave it to the last minute, but it passed inspection.

Cag that's awful - any chance it could have been dropped somewhere? It does kill your faith in people when stuff gets stolen Sad

I have washed up, will need to iron a couple of items first thing but will head to bed now.

Morning all! Happy Shrove Tuesday!

Very kind of you to offer to fo April thread Toostressy! [flowers ]

That's rotten for your dh Cag. Just what you don't need.

Glad camhs meeting went ok Zoo self-soothing kit sounds like a good idea.

Good job: re sewing Sass and selling toys Foxes!

In the end I did very little yesterday as I felt a bit rough. Managed a slow kitchen clean and some laundry. DH is meant to be on holiday but is working (bit miffed with him as so far he has used my op and presence of others to do more work, business dinners and trips, not less!) Dd is busy doing one of her cultural projects.
All the cavalry have gone home. Hope to get to wreck2 later in week. At this rate I'm not going to make it!

Sanguineclamp · 05/03/2019 06:18

Meant to say; happy pancake tossing one and all!

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/03/2019 07:12

Keeping fingers X you make wreck 2 later in week SC
It's hard trying to be patientFlowers

I've discovered waking teens with the smell(and promise) of gingerbread pancakes is much less of a battle than get up and eat cerealGrin

Before anyone throws me off thread for such crazy behaviour is like to add(in my defence) they're oven baked in a sheet tray and cut into squares/rectangles so it's a simple mix and lob in oven!!I'm a renowned morning person who barely strings coherent sentences in the evening so makes sense do it in morning.plus I get bonus mum pointsGrin
And dd2 has orthodontist pm so may not be able to eat them later

foxessocks · 05/03/2019 07:35

zoo sounds like a wonderful start to the day!

Ds was up for hours in the night, he has a blocked up nose and just got more and more hysterical about it. Dh actually gave up on sleep and went to work early in the end (he says he's going to come home early but we'll see!) .

Keeping dd at home another day as she needs to build her strength back up. Think we might have pancakes tomorrow instead not sure yet.

Cagliostro · 05/03/2019 08:12

Thanks all 💐
Mmmm pancakes. We haven’t any eggs etc as used it all up baking for the community thing... which is where the phone was taken (it’s on CCTV but can’t see face).

DH has a meeting in town today so the rest of us might go with him and we can pick up pancake stuff too. We are also majorly out of food as we’ve been trying to use up stuff to save money. Must plan properly and order a delivery for tomorrow with cheap stuff!

Rowan slept six hours straight in her cot last night and then another 90mins after a feed, that’s the longest she’s gone in months.

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/03/2019 08:54

Well done RowanBear
My sheet pan pancakes are vegan cag as didn't have eggs.vinegar/lemon added to milk and baking powder in plain flour causes them to be fluffy

TooStressyTooMessy · 05/03/2019 09:30

Star for mum points zoo!

Hope you manage to get a few minutes rest today foxes. Sounds sensible to do the pancakes tomorrow if needed.

Take it easy SC

Great excitement here as DD2 has a fun school thing today. DD1 has a fab time at her school thing last night too Smile.

I did go to the gym yesterday and really enjoyed it once I was there Smile. Feet still dodgy through so limited in what I can do.

To do (I am going to aim for shorter lists in the hope of actually getting stuff done):-

Morning routine
Change sheets
Proper calendar check has have some work stuff and dance and school stuff to look at
Make pancake batter

TooStressyTooMessy · 05/03/2019 09:31

Xpost, well done Rowan Smile.

Sanguineclamp · 05/03/2019 10:14

Wow Zoo pancakes sound yum! One of your brood is bound to grow up and become a MasterChef contestant at this rate! Grin

Thanks Toostressy, will do, and we'll done re: gym!

Oh dear Foxes that sounds like a very tough night Brew.

Glad yours was relatively uninterrupted though Cag.

I've had a rough morning. Nausea, vertigo etc. Very disappointing when recovery was going so well. Don't understand it. Managed to put two loads on with the help of DD though.

Happy Shriving everyone!

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/03/2019 10:19

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/03/2019 10:20

TAKE IT STEADY!!!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/03/2019 10:21
Sanguineclamp · 05/03/2019 10:36

DH has disappeared to office again. (Sigh.)

DD upset because sixth form prospectus for boarding school in UK which she was relying on if things get too tough here (she is up against native French speakers who speak French at home) - a sort of fall back plan - has arrived and you have to be under 17 on the 1st Sept in the year of entry so it's a no go. Sad She had to finish this year here as second year of second " education cycle" ifyswim. And it's to late to apply for Sept this year now. And she'll be too old for Sept 2020 as she turns 17 two months before. Bum. It was never definite (a) that she would want to board (b) that we could afford it (c) it would be a good idea to interrupt studies here but the possibility of it was her "security blanket". I have screwed up badly.

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/03/2019 11:24

Oh SC please don't beat yourself up lovely.it may have been an escape plan but sounds in reality as it's wasn't the strongest contender in practical terms(cost etc).sending big big hugs.xxxxx

Sanguineclamp · 05/03/2019 11:53

Thanks Zoo. This possibility has only come to the foreground recently again since dd was granted citizenship (because uninterrupted state education here counts towards application). But now she will have two passports/nationalities she can choose ed in UK as an option. Thats why it didn't seem like a possibility last year. I am always doing this sort of thing - looking at tiny detail - and overlooking obvious mahoosive fact staring me right in the face - so stupid Blush.

Also, thought it would be good for her English if she goes to uni in UK (which she probably won't, again because of cost) as I noticed she didn't have all the Eng vocab to explain higher/complex principles in maths to her aunts recently. Also just wanted her to have op to join a choir, do sport on site, do creative extra curricular stuff as schools just very narrowly focused on academics here, no frills, also good for her to board as an "only" and get some corners knocked off! Hey ho! Maybe they could be persuaded to waive age ruling (by two months) as coming from different ed cycle ifyswim! We'll see!

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/03/2019 12:49

There's no harm in asking?SC worse they can say is no?

Wellbeing cafe was good.a very friendly lady at our church in mid sixties used teach at D's primary and knows us very well.she asked us if going ash wed service as she's coming tomorrow with her granddaughter(preschooler as it's in the daytime) they're only expecting 10-15 so might try and get D's down there.she was chat indy about Leng and has offered to do private session with us on stations if the cross in church which he is keen to do.shes offered a Saturday morning if girls want to join us or midweek daytime if not.i think probably opt midweek as the cafe won't be open so it will be very quiet and he likes being in church when it's quiet.
We chatted few others and he did some colouring, achieved best time of 40 minutes there which was good!

Dd2 has been collected and we grab pasta pot on way past co op and bag crisps as she's expecting eating going to be sore later which she has rammed.shes now brushing her teeth and changing her elastics before we head out to orthodontics for tightening.wisb us luck for later!!

To do
Washing pile
Pick up couple df bits for lil zoo as pass main shopping area on way back from orthodontist
Contemplate if DD going back this afternoon
Pick up lil zoo(forecast is pouring and windy by then.whoo bloody hoo😒)

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/03/2019 12:50

*chat him about lent.my phone is driving me nuts today

Sanguineclamp · 05/03/2019 13:50

Glad café visit went well Zoo! Very best of luck to you and your dd2 at orthodontist 🍀

I'm sure church lady well intentioned and she sounds lovely but I remember being quite freaked out by Stations of the Cross as a child (without wishing to be disrespectful it is qu- ite an anxiety provoking journey after all and it was was in a very dark Victorian cathedral - led by rather a severe nun!) so might be good to cast an eye over proceedings (which I am sure you would do anyway) in case ds gets upset by it.

And wishing you plentiful reserves of energy for collecting Lil Zoo at end of day! Brew If you don't mind me saying, would have been good if your dp had offered to cover just one of those trips out!

ChicCroissant · 05/03/2019 14:05

Afternoon fledglings, are we putting the boot into the bottom of clutter today? Having bought two more cookbooks at the chazzer today, probably not Blush Why can't I resist cookbooks? I have two very plain eaters in the house other than me Blush

Oh dear about the schools SC. Best to speak to them, I think. Are they full, is that why she can't join this September?

Sorry, will catch up on the personals later - better do something before collecting DD from school and the evening rush of pancakes instrument lesson and pancakes dance lessons.
