No delayed exit for clutter - March Flylady Thread 2019 for fledglings!

What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Great Ta Das zoo. Isn't funny how you suddenly find how mucky chairs get even with adults.I'm considering painting some of ours as they look tired and a bit mucky/scratched even when cleaned.
We've had those cinnamon whirls you bake for breakfast yum. Vegan friendly.

DD wants to go out for lunch. I feel tired I would quite like to stay in but I know I will enjoy OUT. Need to have a shower.Might go to next town and nose about as not too far to drive.

ChicCroissant · 30/03/2019 11:54

Quick hello, back later on as getting stuff ready for DD's activity this afternoon, we have a quick turnaround from the morning one today!

I have earrings again! Thought they’d all closed up (two in each lobe) but no, she just had to push a bit. Yay! A small nod to self care.

I have a mad hour of tidying ahead of me, as I have some time to myself.

I think DD is moving towards the teen years, she needed a specific hairstyle for today's activity and despite me showing her in writing how her hair should be, she believed some other well-meaning but wrong and bossy person, and then sulked a bit when I insisted as doing it as the note said. I was right well of course I was, I stuck to the written instructions but I doubt she'll remember it! The same person did something similar last year, which I also luckily ignored because it was wrong.

Preteen strop here too. DD really didn’t want to wear her dress for her ballroom exam (the same dress she happily chose herself for her last one six months ago), she wanted to wear a freebie she got when volunteering (charity shop type thing) but it’s way too short as it’s more of a wear with leggings thing and the wrong shape, they are strict for exams. Literally four times a year she has to wear a dress. Then she couldn’t find the belt that went with the proper dress, so apparently it was too baggy... sigh.

foxessocks · 30/03/2019 18:27

Sympathies to everyone with stroppy dc today!

I've been in soft play for the last two hours as dd has a birthday party to go to. Not sure how dh always gets out of these things! I suppose because I know the other parents better. He took ds out shopping and to his mums.

Must hang some washing up and then I can relax I think.

TooStressyTooMessy · 30/03/2019 19:02

Must be something in the water with stroppiness (is that a word?!). I have had enough today and it will very shortly be bedtime. We are going out for a meal tomorrow for mother’s day (DDs’ idea which is lovely) and atm I am fucking dreading it. Hoping it doesn’t all end in tears.

Bower, meant to say, how rude of the parents not to say thank you Flowers. I have nothing but sincere gratitude and admiration for the staff on school trips.

ChicCroissant · 30/03/2019 22:30

Evening lovely fledglings, be prepared to lose an hour tonight as the clocks spring forward into Mother's Day! Monday would have been a better day to knock an hour off IMO, but what do I know ...

Did manage a couple of loads of laundry today, and cleared off the dining table which had become a raging hot spot again. Need a proper blitz on the house next week, will have to get a plan of action in place and lots of 15 minute room rescues.

I'll be out tomorrow afternoon so I may be quiet on here tomorrow. Sleep well fledglings, don't stay up too late (unless you are out partying on a Saturday night!)

Going to bed. Have a lovely day tomorrow all of you, parent or not. I remember the 5am waking due to the clock changing in Autumn when Ds was small.

Just popping back in, I have been AWOL for a couple of weeks and need to get Flying again in April. I also decided it was time for new name, was Meet.

TooStressyTooMessy · 31/03/2019 10:08

Hills BrewGrin

Hi Expletive, I like the new name :)

Happy Mother’s Day if it will be a happy occasion for you. If it is a horrible day for you for whatever reason then here’s some Gin for later.

Have had a lazy start to the day which is achievable now the kids are older. Have had lovely cards so at least today has started well. Need to get with the programme now though as I don’t think anyone has even had breakfast.

I am going to put the April thread up next and will post the link. Thanks so much for doing March Chic FlowersCake.

TooStressyTooMessy · 31/03/2019 10:15

April thread is here.

ChicCroissant · 31/03/2019 10:58

Happy Mother's Day fledglings! Have a good one. I am still not dressed and need to cook breakfast. Will just book my place on the April thread (many thanks Stressy) and catch up with you later this afternoon.

I am celebrating Mothers Day with 80,000 other people at Wembley, not much Flying today, but tomorrow I have plans for.

TooStressyTooMessy · 31/03/2019 19:18

Wow, hope you had a good time Expletive!

Hope everyone has had as nice a day as possible Flowers.

foxessocks · 31/03/2019 19:45

Had a lovely day but just realised I have lost my engagement ring Sad

TooStressyTooMessy · 31/03/2019 19:54

Oh no foxes SadSad. Do you remember when you last had it?

Lisette1940 · 31/03/2019 19:56

Oh no Foxes 💍prayers to St Anthony being said right now.

ChicCroissant · 31/03/2019 20:27

Shock foxes I hope it's turned up by now. Could it have been 'borrowed' by little hands by any chance?

I've had a nice day, DD is a bit nervous about some upcoming tests at school so we are getting barky one-word responses this evening Hmm Might suggest a soothing bath soon, apparently no revision is needed tonight winning formula although she has done a lot last week to be fair.

TooStressyTooMessy · 31/03/2019 20:39

foxes, I found a ring in the tumble drier before where it had fallen off. Worth checking the washer and drier if you think you lost it in the house.
