The bedlam (back)stops here - February Flylady thread for frosty fledglings

SassitudeandSparkle · 31/01/2019 23:38

Welcome to the February Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in February. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Hi everyone.🥮🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🍰🍰🍰🍮🍮🍮🍮🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍩🍩🍩🍩🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮some treats for all of you. I think you deserve them. You have all been so busy.

Well it took me two goes of reading through posts to catch up. I fell asleep last night. Goodn3## I don’t know where to start.

SC gggrrr at dh could you get a cleaner and make him pay for it?

Zoo I suggest one to two pieces of licorice from Lakeland. It is all natural and might help. The other thing would be a vegan diet.

Cags lets hope your health improves soon.

My weekend was a success. Lovely spring weather. Food turned out well and I had a bit of help with all the veg. Sunday was busy as I rushed back to Choir.

I went back to find the work timetable changed. No one had told ME! I now have another class to teach which means I am teaching more than half my timetable plus covering when someone is off. Today is my day off but they have put a course on after school so I have to go in. Grr! I was going to do something with bf if she finishes early. This is the second time they have chosen a Wednesday.

Ta das
Yesterday
Washing on x3
Sorted a BRC school related.
Sink shined.

Dead bits cut back
Garden path swept

Morning - apologies about lack of thread leading.

I am dropping the dodgy car off at the garage today, which will mean getting the bus (two of them) back home. This will be an adventure, as I hardly ever get the bus and never from the town I'll be in! Still coughing too. Looking forward very much to the end of this week, February hasn't been as fabulous as I'd hoped tbh Grin

Press on fledglings, I'll be back later on this morning I hope (not sure how long it will take, it's not that far tbh).

Ds wasn't sick again but he's miserable with a high temperature. I've given him Calpol and have about half an hour to make a decision about whether he can go to my mum's this afternoon while I work.

Sanguineclamp · 27/02/2019 08:35

Hope you can get to work Foxes. Could your mum come to look after your ds at yours by any chance?

And good kuck with car expedition Sass sorry cough still lingering. Even if the month of Feb hasn't been as fabulous as you'd hoped, your thread-leading certainly has! Flowers

Your cooking w/e sounds great Bower ! Bummer about having to go in to work in your day off though.

We have a cleaner two hrs every Friday and two hrs ironing per fortnight - when she turns up - she is excellent when she does. But house rather large (and steep) so drop in ocean really!

Sanguineclamp · 27/02/2019 08:38

Thanks Zoo I slept well! Had cracking headache but found meds at bottom of hospital bag. Maybe drugs are the answer Grin. Hope Lil Zoo and Scoutcat both doing ok!

Waves to "Hill's* and everyone else!

foxessocks · 27/02/2019 11:01

sc she did offer to after I'd written that actually but in the end ds perked up a bit and had two slices of toast then said he wanted to go to her house. So I'm just off to drop him there and fingers crossed he is ok until I get back at tea time...

Calpol seems to have been a big help!

TooStressyTooMessy · 27/02/2019 12:54

Hi all,

Star for job foxes, that is really great. Glad your DS has picked up too.
Hope car work not too painful Sass.

At work today so no flying atm but have vague hopes for later.

Big wing flaps to all.

SassitudeandSparkle · 27/02/2019 14:33

I actually had quite a nice bus ride today in the sunshine!

DH is away with work so I have his car for a few days (this did involved dragging everyone out of bed early to do the round work/school trip though) while mine is repaired. One of the fixes it needs is remarkably expensive, and probably due to someone bashing it in a car park which is annoying! Ho hum.

Look forward to getting back to normal tonight. Will do school run now.

Evening fledglings, we are almost finished with February - just one more day to go.

I have also spent time today picking bits of tissue out of my washing machine/wet laundry - I hate it when I do that!

I am feeling much more human though, which feels like the first time in a week. All the coughing has given me a very squeaky voice though.

Final Launch Pad for February - I can set up a March thread tomorrow unless anyone else wants to do it.

See you tomorrow, sleep well fledglings.

Cagliostro · 27/02/2019 23:46

I cut DS’ hair today. And sent an email I’d procrastinated over. That’s about it.

Can’t believe it’s almost March!

Sanguineclamp · 28/02/2019 03:19

Hey all

Sass just wanted to say sorry but I can't do March. Do not feel you have to do a "double" though unless you really want to! I'm sure this thread will roll on anyway.

Thank you for splendid thread leadership in February! Flowers Cake Halo

Bowerbird5 · 28/02/2019 05:42

Yes, thank you Sass.
I am afraid I am not very ICT savvy and wouldn’t know where to start with links.
SC sorry about headache. You must be feeling a bit rough. Take it easy.

Awake because I didn’t take my tablet. Going to be tired now at school. I feel dopey in morning and meant to take it earlier at 9pm as I feel better at 7am. Now wish I had just taken it at bedtime. This is part of the reason I am on them!

Ta das yesterday
Two loads of washing, hung some on line. Forgot to take it in on time.
Tidied kitchen.
Completed another drawer as I found cutlery inset.
Swept and washed floor, bloody bucket had a split in it so I had to use a sink bowl. Luckily I have just changed it for a new one so I coulduse old one.
Removed books to a box and sorted pile of random crap from table.
Now have a smaller pile I need to dish out.
Went on course.
Small shop.
Learnt song.
Made yummy Shepherd’s Pie and veg. Discovered pre mashed turnip, potato and carrot in Sainsbury’s. I put it in a pan and rinsed out dish so DH might think I made it 🤥🤭naughty I know but he was too drunk to notice. Not as bad as sometimes but knocked some buttons in a box and was nasty when I tutted. He said they fell off! He walked away and didnt pick them up. I was still cross woitj him because he never phoned. We live twenty minutes from the station and he has a flight and three trains to get home and can’t be arsed to phone and let me know he is in the country! Sometimes I go and he isn’t on the train.

Washed up.
Shined sink.

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/02/2019 06:44

Hope you dozed back off SC

How can it be march tomorrow?we still haven't finished finding permanent homes for all zoolets Xmas gifts yet?Blush

HillsBesideTheSea · 28/02/2019 08:56

We can always go rouge and just have a chatter thread with link in the 1st post only and anyone who feels like it can post links throughout the month? Ie no dedicated leader, no pressure for links and link posting wims ok.

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/02/2019 09:14

Sounds good to me hills :)

Can’t believe we are a sixth of the way through the year already.

DH is powering through the laundry. I now have Netflix to myself as everyone has left for trampolining.

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/02/2019 09:43

I have now been sick after saying it has stopped Sad fml

SassitudeandSparkle · 28/02/2019 09:43

I have taken action rather than just faffing around as per usual, March thread (namechange) I am happy to post the Launch Pad link.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/housekeeping/3520101-No-delayed-exit-for-clutter-March-Flylady-Thread-2019-for-fledglings

Suppose I should do something IRL now as well. Still sitting with my coat on after school run (rainy here today), been shopping, put it away and eaten breakfast. Housework calls!

Ty for the Flowers and new thread sass

Sanguineclamp · 28/02/2019 11:00

Really good of you Sass thank you for new thread! Halo
If you get too busy/bored of it; hope you will feel free to revert to Hill's suggested model!

I have sent up smoke signals. Not coping with house (steep) and furries (they couldn't go to pet sitter as usual when dh away for various reasons) and food shopping (delivery not great here - only one supermarket does it) and forbidden drive DD to school (she is in generally good health and usually goes by bus/tram but is going through a bit of an adolescent fainty/nose bleed phase and I'm not allowed to drive for eight weeks). So dsis2 and dsil have very kindly pitched up to help me out u til dh back and over jet lag for which I am profoundly grateful.

Waves to all!
