Welcome to the February Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in February. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Oh it's horrible having a bad cold when the weather is bright and sunny Sass. Hope you can rest and that you recover soon.

DD is being a real trooper today. So far she has walked the furries individually, emptied DW and helped me sort laundry. Happily she had a really great day out kayaking with her boyfriend and his family yesterday, so don't feel too guilty asking her to help but on the other hand, don't like doing it when she has so much study to do too.

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/02/2019 13:53

SC I know what you mean.dd2 helps out when my backs not great lifting, moving and tidying what I can reach(including hairballs under beds)then spends hours revising/homeworking.she doesn't resent it.we are team zoo, have each others backs and dig in when needs must.Smile

Everyone's fed and watered
DS boy dungeon- is almost tidy
Girls room of doom- in progress..

My beddings just gone in wash, floor wiped over and quick wipe of surfaces
Bathrooms next then stairs and kitchen/living room

My intention is to shut scoutcat with littertray in front room alone tonight(he could hurt himself try jump kitchen surfaces with that cone on)and it needs to clutter controlled so he doesn't tangle himself up on anything!!I barely slept as he stamp all over me,stamp with claws out(whilst purring) til felt like thousands needles being stuck in me along dig edges cone in face, chest stomach etc.i can't do that again

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/02/2019 13:55

Ps I can garotting at Heathrow SC or maybe send scoutcat to his hotel see he sleeps better than I can thru his "loving!!"Grin

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/02/2019 13:56

*garotting him stupid autocorrect

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/02/2019 13:56

FFS garotte him

Sanguineclamp · 24/02/2019 14:52

Grin Grin Zoo

I think the garrotting may still fall to you sadly. Knowing dh, Scoutcat would be treated to a kipper on a silver tray in the business lounge and then found a comfy sofa! [Sometimes think DH priority list starts with furries first, child and job close run thing, cars next and spouse last !] Grin

Sanguineclamp · 24/02/2019 15:06

In any case, his favourite slippers which he left too close to the shower may have accidentally got a bit damp and then the puppy may have accidentally mistaken them for a chew toy Confused

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/02/2019 15:38

Ah the little pleasures in life
I'd call the puppy karmaGrin

Tada

Minor grump...I've asked lil zoo repeatedly take her drawing book upstairs for 3DAYS."yeh,in a mo" well I lost shit when slip on it and yell at her(she was upstairs) you have til count 5to reclaim or BINBAG gets it.she moved like arse on fire and scampered down by impressively fast fourth count(I wasn't counting slowly).why does it have to be like that?does she like squawking harridan mum yowling?Sad

Now sat here sucking a red glace fruit sweet I found in lil zoo treat bag(mostly icky green ones and odd boak tastic orange one left )so am enjoying my illicit treat before decide whether do more or have my shower and relax for a while

Pasta tonight with last of pesto, roasted broccoli, peppers, squash and courgettes and little grated cheese.yumyum

Sanguineclamp · 24/02/2019 15:44

I hear you Zoo I constantly squawk about carrying mugs down/putting wrappers in bin/hanging up coats/moving shoes so we don't fall over them/putting books away/remember someone has to use bathroom and shower after you so hang towels to dry and tidy up etc etc etc until I'm blue in the face. Makes no difference at all.

Go have that shower and a rest! You deserve it!

foxessocks · 24/02/2019 15:55

3 days of dd birthday celebrations have finally come to an end...I'm worn out!! Ds has fallen asleep on the sofa. I attempted to go for a run but got a stitch and ended up walking most of it Confused too much birthday cake I think!

Sc I'm fuming on your behalf re dh behaviour!

I think I'm going to potter slowly around the house tidying a bit while everyone is happy and quiet here.

Zoo hope you are resting.

Cagliostro · 24/02/2019 16:21

Doesn’t matter how hard he works sc no excuse for being an unhelpful dick when you’ve just had major surgery 😡😡😡

Had the planning discussion with DH. Feel slightly better now. But also have some serious work to do to be ready for increasing the structure again.

Basically it comes down to us having delayed doing anything while ill/unable to manage much. This started before Christmas as I had the bulk of the dental work done and literally couldn’t speak some days, then after Christmas we have both had all sorts of issues, and basically we kept thinking oh we will continue when we feel better, but actually it doesn’t look like that will happen for either of us any time soon Hmm Confused so we have agreed we just need to crack on.

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/02/2019 16:44

Understandable things have slowed cag you can only juggle so many balls at once.dont be hard on yourself, you have recognised things are levelling off a bit(no new "surprises")and time make a plan.id call that a big winStar
Foxes and where's the naughty corner cake?!
SC nice to hear it's not just me then!!

I've just insist wash lil zoo hair for her as recently greasier, start dandruff and it's always been dry but list it's shine.i gave her head a good massage with soap but when put conditioner in(dove intense repair for dry hair) it felt like straw whereas mine and other zoolets feel smooth and soft at that point.any ideas ladies??

Sanguineclamp · 24/02/2019 17:30

Thanks re: DH everyone! I've stopped seething now. And dsister1 has kindly offered to come back to help again. I wasn't intending to accept her v kind offer but think I will now.

Foxes think you deserve a medal for even thinking of going for a run after three days of birthday celebrations! And for tidying too! I'd be lying in a heap with a bottle of Gin.

Cag you can only do what you can do and hopefully you will be able to catch up fairly quickly and cover more in less time "at home" than in traditional school setting.

Zoo no expertise to offer whatsoever but whenever DD has had hair/scalp issues, I always revert to trusty cider vinegar rinses as it seems to take everything back to its natural state ifyswim and resets balance. That could be quite the wrong thing to do in this instance though!

foxessocks · 24/02/2019 19:50

sc I have to admit it was a very brief tidy up in the end but I did shine my sink which I haven't done in ages mostly I've been cuddling ds on the sofa because he didn't want me to get up 😍

Sorry sorry sorry zoo and everyone - here you go we have a crazy amount of party food left over!! Grin sadly (or luckily really considering the amount of chocolate here) we have had to bin an entire box of celebrations because it turned out they tasted disgusting because they are 3 years out of date Shock mil brought them over for us. How anyone keeps chocolate that long I don't know Confused

foxessocks · 24/02/2019 19:54

Re hair I'm not sure zoo sorry. We still use cradle cap shampoo on dd, she has lots of trouble with flaky scalp.

HillsBesideTheSea · 24/02/2019 21:13

COuld be hormone related Cag. Also I am finding that certain shampoos and conditioners are leaving a crap tone of residue on my hair causing it to feel like straw and knot really badly. I have had to revert to shower gel for washing hair with no conditioner to strip the gunk off it.

Sanguineclamp · 24/02/2019 21:21
Stilllivinginazoo · 25/02/2019 06:35

Foxes don't trust this woman ever again!!!3years out if date

I sloped off to bed leaving scoutcat to own devices in living room with food water and litter tray.hoping not to be greeted by carnage.......

Back to school today so best crack on!!

HillsBesideTheSea · 25/02/2019 07:03

Sorry I meant the last post for zoo not cag. I was tired last night.

I am still tired this morning. This is going to be a problem, I have things that require brain function today.

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/02/2019 09:33

Well only issue was little tabby girl had snuck in unseen and was then rapped with scoutcat all night.she had eyes wide as saucers when I opened the door this morning and shot upstairs.no signs of fighting,I think she was too scared as no exit available(she likes to Hiss at him as he's twice her size).no mess/distraction

SassitudeandSparkle · 25/02/2019 13:25

Sorry, suffering a bit with a cold here today. Car has failed it's MOT just to improve matters too! Grin

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/02/2019 14:15

sass on the car front dp left his car near his flat and worked yesterday.today he return work and two cars hem him in so tightly can't move it.walks to mine in strop as they probably work in town(he's near town centre but not yellow lined/permit parking) and won't move cars til tonight.hes had carry scoutcat 45 minute walk to vets
Scoutcats ear isn't infected, but he got so nervous out in basket that long he crap extensively and vet had sent him out back to hose down rear end and the basketBlushon plus we didn't have to pay for thatGrinjust got try keep cone on and cat in til heals.jydge by state holes we are looking at least another week(dp estimate).i think more like 2-3weeks(realistic).yay to that long with stir crazy cat stress spraying kutchen, and getting cross no one will let him out

Tomorrow we have hospital app for lil zoo(tummy)he won't go back tonight to see if car is free so I need shop tomorrow morning, then pick up lil zoo at start her lunch break.walk to hospital(90mins from school on foot at least)then he's saying we might see cars free to come back.if not she will be expected wake home,no fuss despite not eating since 7am as we won't have time to stop for lunch.he can see that as a problem.well he needn't think he will get fed before she's collected from school n see how he likes it.ge will then be walking 8-5 with no food stops.i average 3-4 mph,so that's 27+ miles on no food or water.i can(and have) done it before half killed me but still.i doubt he will fare so well .....

He's cleared off to bed to sulk/sleep as tired.im off out soon to collect lil zoo.its practically tropical here.i have keep reminding myself it's not end April/may!!Confused
