Welcome to the February Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in February. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Oh no zoo Brew. Does the car need much work doing Sass?

Hills, thanks so much for your comments, they really do make sense. I will try to do better next time Confused.

Have managed to sort out kitchen and dining area after the party weekend and cleaned half the fridge. The less said about the rest of the house the better!

Have also done reading homework with both girls and sorted ready meal for tonight for DH and me as Mondays are busy evenings.

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/02/2019 19:09

Got the arse with dp
After long day I got roped into head back to his for the car with him.as expected those that hemmed him in had gone home.bought car back.disaster averted.neednt have caused so much stress all round.harrumph
Glad lil zoo has app tom.tummy pain tonight's very bad

In other news the history test dd2 expected/stressed over all weekend didn't happen so if and when it does a slight revision and she should ace it!!

Local weather said hottest day on record here today(16oc)only lack of leaves on big trees(blossom is in full swing) and the way chill sets in as sun goes down are we reminded it's not ment to be this warm

Hope everyone's ok
I'm off to stick face in large bowl of pasta, cheese and veg.day I've had screams comfort food!!

Cagliostro · 25/02/2019 19:16

Having a major brain fail here. How do you actually send a parcel via courier? I have no scales to weigh it. I’m sending a load of baby clothes I finally sorted out so I have been productive today. But... now I’m having a freak out over what to actually do with them. I think courier is a better and cheaper option than the post office... right? I’m so clueless. Any fledgling wisdom please 😳😳😳

TooStressyTooMessy · 25/02/2019 20:35

Oh dear zoo. Really rubbish of people to hem him in in the first place Angry.

Cag, I’ve only ever done stuff like that from the post office, sorry.

SC, I meant to say AngryAngryAngry at your DH leaving the house in such a state. Star for your DD though.

HillsBesideTheSea · 25/02/2019 21:41

stressy next time you will do exactly what you have always done - the best you can in the circumstances you have. Family is fucking hard sometimes. I will think no less of you if you end up appologising again precisely because of that fact. You've got this, just now you have seen the situation from a different angle but one which is not there and does not see. You will judge what is right for your circumstances. You've got this. Promise.

Cag sorry no idea

Today has been brought to you by the work fuck. Alot. It has been an odd and slightly frustrating kind of day.

SassitudeandSparkle · 25/02/2019 23:50

Apologies for the lack of posts, feeling better now but will possibly be out most of tomorrow morning with car issues Hmm Too complicated to bore you with explain just at the moment.

Launch Pad

Back tomorrow, will catch up more then.

Cag Google "courier services UK". Choose one of them. (DHL, Parcels2go etc etc?). Click on website and they'll ask you if you are sending or receiving. Click on former and follow the steps from there. You can usually designate a date and time for pickup and there are different grades of urgency. Very easy to sort. You can ring them too.

Before that though, you might like to compare a few different prices from different firms (there is usually a price estimator facility) and then compare courier service with ordinary post as often couriers rather €€€.

Sanguineclamp · 26/02/2019 03:34

Ah sorry, not sure about weighing. Borrow a neighbour's scales?

Sanguineclamp · 26/02/2019 03:40

Sorry about car Sass

Hope Lil Zoo ok Zoo

Menopausal waking at 4 am is getting very old Confused. Wide awake unfortunately!

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/02/2019 08:03

Take up knitting SC Wink

Sanguineclamp · 26/02/2019 09:57

Never took to it sadly Hills! Arming myself with embroidery hoops, linen, and a spotlight for the wee small hours tonight. And if all else fails, will listen to the Archers on repeat! Grin

Cagliostro · 26/02/2019 10:17

I am crap at that stuff too sc

TooStressyTooMessy · 26/02/2019 10:28

Thanks Hills Smile.

I hate all things sewing related I’m afraid.

SassitudeandSparkle · 26/02/2019 11:34

Will catch up properly later, still coughing like mad!

Car due service and MOT, raised some long-standing issues (yet again) with service centre when booking service - couldn't arrange service before MOT due. Car failed due to issues, dealer still couldn't fit in for service. Issues covered under warranty but still unlikely to be done in time for MOT retest. I'm not very happy about it either.

Need to enforce order on the kitchen, I haven't done much for a couple of days and it has suffered!

Cagliostro · 26/02/2019 13:56

Good luck foxes!

I’ve showered today, DH has spend much of the morning on the phone about a gas bill that should belong to the previous tenant. I’ve ordered a few necessary bits on amazon using the last of the giftcard I had.

We did a bit of English and RE and I’ve got DD’s friend coming to do a bit more English (using a textbook) with her later.

Glad you caught scoutcat! I really want a spider plant.

Sanguineclamp · 26/02/2019 14:05

You got the job! Yay! Well done Foxes! Hope first day goes really well. You'll smash it! xxx

(I didn't hear back from the one I applied for - wasn't really expecting to tbh - and in no fit state ATM anyway! Was worth a try though!)

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/02/2019 15:47

Oooh SC I could just eat a boxful 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋

Lil zoo has been discharged.no longer classed constipated and as ruled out cealiac and Crohn's it's "one of those things".keep taking laxido 3-6 months to ensure regular bowel movements and if pains become major issue again back to gp(it has improved but "attacks" still leave her curled in a ball in lot pain and beg suck a mint for comfort as painkillers are useless).whilst I'm glad they're not concerned it's serious she's still not "better" ....

Dp has skulked off off to bed
Dd2 has after-school IT class as they're behind on GCSE coursework(teacher yaks too much).we are walking over to meet her as the fields are quietish around 445-5 and we can acquire a sneaky little treat with couple quid I squirreled away
Plus it's last warm day so want enjoy last bit suns warmth on my face!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/02/2019 15:48

Forgot to add,dinner tonight-
Veggie sausages, potato and parsnip mash, broccoli and green beans
Cherry jelly and blueberries( I made up earlier)

foxessocks · 26/02/2019 16:34

Thanks everyone. It is only a very part time / casual basis thing alongside my other self employed stuff but it has boosted my confidence a bit! Sc sorry you didn't hear back about the job, although as you say timing probably not the best right now, hope you're taking it easy!

I forgot my ta da from earlier, a rare one for me, I cleaned the kitchen windows! The sun was shining in and showing up all the dirt.

My mum looked after ds this afternoon and picked up dd from school. When I got back she made me a cup of tea and had sorted out snacks and drinks for the dc 🌟 I feel quite rested! She also got ds to have a nap in his buggy Shock

Dinner tonight macaroni cheese with broccoli. Now I need to go and sort out a tissue explosion in the washing Sad exciting times.

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/02/2019 17:41

You get all the fun jobs foxes eww exploded tissue

SOrry flying in throwing food together and flying out. One of those days.

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/02/2019 18:32

foxessocks · 26/02/2019 19:20
