Flying high in July (or trying to!) - the FlyLady thread

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/06/2018 09:14

A warm (or cooling with our current weather) welcome to the July Flylady thread. This is a lovely friendly thread where we loosely follow the Flylady system (see the Flylady website ) in the hope of having organised homes and lives.

Every day the thread leader (me this month) posts links and missions from the Flylady site and also some friendly (!) personal comments. This is quite a ‘talky’ thread but we try our hardest not to be cliquey and new members are very welcome! I will do my best to keep track of everybody Smile.

Please note that Flylady is (understandably) keen for people to click on her site so please do have a look around the site and the links. On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails but we would advise caution as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

Information on getting started: www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

The launch pad is also a good starting place:www.flylady.net/c/lp.php

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

Be kind to yourselves, jump in where you are and be careful not to crash and burn!

The first day of the month is Sunday. Since it’s a weekend there is no official mission or zone work, unless you want to of course.

*
Here is the daily summary for Sunday (also available on the Flylady website at flight plan which should update automatically each day).

I assume we are going into zone 1 next week which is the entrance area. However this week we have been in the living room. The Flylady website can take a few days to update the zones when the month changes so I will have a good look at it tomorrow and Monday to see where we are.

The link to the current zone and missions is [[http://www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions here].

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time, with varying degrees of success!

Spend 15 mins decluttering, or whatever you can manage, in Zone 5/ zone 1.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 5 is here.

daily focus

missions for the week

Once I figure out July’s habit I will let you know what it is!

Happy flying everyone.

The eclipse should be visible to uk now.unfortunately cloudy here☹️after all clear skies of late one night we want see a rare phenomenon
DS watching windows case clouds clear.i sat watch TV with dd2 now and a marmite sandwich(first food of the day)

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/07/2018 21:44

Brilliant news Cag

Oh zoo that’s a shame if DS wanted to see it. I think there will be a lot of disappointed people tonight. I would have liked to see it but luckily as it turns out can’t claim to be too interested and both DDs not really aware of it. I’ve just been outside and it is so cloudy I can’t see anything at all. Hopefully something will have been caught for television although I realise that’s not the same thing at all.

Grin at Dave’s heating. One of your better typos Grin.

So I am going to drink some Wine and do my online food shop which I actually managed to start today while DD2 was in swimming lesson.

Wine for all in the naughty corner.

Well my to do list went to hell, had a bit of an accident. Oops. Sad[sore][tired]

Sleeping and then going away to relax for a few days. More likely to have the energy to do what is left when I get back tbh. and what doesn't get done, won't get done. fuck it. fuck it all.

Bowerbird5 · 27/07/2018 23:23

Sighs...I used to have horsey bits in my bag too.
I know what a grackle nose and is!

Well I decluttered four handbags today. I found the email address of old school friend so will be able to get in touch with her. She had a house fire before I bumped into her and lost school photos and I have a copy somewhere so can now email them. We went out for a meal and reminisced about lots of things I would love to see her again.
Completed boudoir. Did some of kitchen including cleaning the fridge out.
Picked loads of black currants before it rains.
Had trout and salad.strawberries and oat cream. Mmmm! Dd is working in a fruit and veg shop so gets reduction and two pun nets of raspberries that we're going out because they were squashed,😄
Lightening here tonight no moon, no rain yet.

Scoopofchaff · 28/07/2018 04:21

Safe travelling Hills! We have storms here; hope your journey is not affected.

Bowerbird we removed the grackle because dhorse doesn't need it and I had it in my handbag for measuring purposes in tack shop! Like the sound of all your home grown fruit!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 28/07/2018 08:59

Ah that is lovely you can help with the photos Bower

Morning all.......
Good news about leaving the old house behind Cag! Btw! Are we invited to the house warming party? 🍹
🏆 for anyone still decluttering in this heat!
Took both Dgs's Ten Pin Bowling yesterday. Did have plans to take them rowing on the park lake but Ds dropped Dgs7 off without his Sun cream (allergic to all others) so quick change of plan.
Dd knows how lucky she is with the help I can give her because most of her work colleagues get none and really struggle. I got no help, whatsoever from my parents, just not interested at all.

My Grandma was amazing though, when I was young and I loved her soooo much, (I miss her to this day) so I promised myself that I would be like her.
I'm very mindful to not step on toes though and always tell kids that Mum and Dad are "the boss"!
Very behind with my house so cleaning most of the day and thank goodness we had a shower early morning and so a little cooler.

Ta da
Fed cat and Buffydog.
Empty Dw
Change bed
Bedding washed and on line.
VAccum'd through

Have a lovely weekend Fellow Fledglings and make some time for YOU!

IVEgotthePOWER · 28/07/2018 11:37

Honky you do sound lovely!

Out of our childrens grandparents one is deceased, one we are no contact with, one has a full time job and the other isnt well. We get some home from the latter two but no where near what you are offering!

People seem to be posting half on this thread and half on the other

IVEgotthePOWER · 28/07/2018 11:38
