Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

Dc4 likes eggs

1&2 wont touch them

3 only likes the whites....

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 05/05/2018 14:36

I saw that thread Ive. Were it not that the issue with looking after the dog is a real concern I would have found it hilarious. The kitchen looked fairly tidy Grin.

foxes, I am trying to figure out our laundry basket situation as I need something the kids will actually put stuff in. Had been trying with a basket on the landing in addition to our main one but it tends to get ignored. Glad your DH feels a bit better SC.

Ta da:-
Dancing for both girls
Laundry on line but need to put more on

Super hot here too. DD2 has just been dropped off to a play date. DH has taken DD1 food shopping as we need bits for a picnic tomorrow. So I have just over an hour on my own in the house to get on with stuff.

Cagliostro · 05/05/2018 15:22

Ooh link or title to thread please? Not that I need a reason to procrastinate.

Its called sister not looking after my house

If your wanting to see really messy pictures its disapointing

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/05/2018 15:53

Just got in from walk.
Where the Lolly's pineapple and limd sorbet cag? Zoolets devour some on way back and said we're lush!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 05/05/2018 16:05

I bought mine the melon lollies from co op a while back and they were not impressed!

Cagliostro · 05/05/2018 16:58

Yep that’s the ones, the yellow bit was so lovely! I haven’t seen any melon ones, I don’t tend to like melon flavoured stuff though despite loving melon!

I am so frigging tired! Heat and Cag don’t mix. Sent DH to the shops with the Caglets and their friend (walking separately there and home again) as I didn’t want to take the baby out in that heat again. So he got back from the run (super muddy and swampy it was knee deep in places!) had a bath and took them. I think I’ll keep him.

I did do some of my workout DVD while they were out, took two attempts to get baby settled (I would’ve sent her with the others but it’s just so hot) even then I didn’t get to do it all because she got grumpy. Sigh. She’s very screechy lately. Lovely but screechy!

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/05/2018 17:57

I don't do hot either cag
Not do I like melon flavoured things(can't eat melon or cucumber as both give me shocking indigestion)

5th load washings in.dd2 has produced another load

I am tired, but I need sort tea etc...
Thinking rest of pitta pizzas
Dd2 n I having roasted veggies and last bit cheese with couscous

Saltcrust · 05/05/2018 18:58

[Enticed in by talk of ice cream and sorbets...]

Bloody hell, I was feeling quite chipper this morning, and enjoying the lovely weather and the calm etc but dh is still feeling grim with flu poor man and is a terrible patient because "he doesn't do ill" and gets very stressed because of missing work etc etc ....and dd is being mahoosively moody and hostile because I had the temerity to remind her that as she is out nearly all of tomorrow with friends, and exams are in five weeks, then it might be a good idea to study today ...and then I got another huge rolling of eyes and sulky attitude because I asked her at 1.30pm to empty suitcase and put her laundered clothes away and she still hasn't done it .... so have come on here to calm down before I explode (which will upset dh) ... so sorry to vent/whinge again.

CBA with cooking tonight and dh off his food so yet another freezer meal: fish with home made tom sauce and rice and veg.

[SC slopes off trying to conjour up images of uplifting things like blossom and wagging dogs' tails ... ]

Leaves Gin out for anyone else in need ... .

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/05/2018 19:34

I don't have a functioning kitchen again

Well the kitchen is ok it is just there is no access to it through the dining room due to building work. Which is fine by me because it is too hot to eat properly anyway. Tea has been shoved in the oven for the one person in the house that disagrees with this statement Hmm

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/05/2018 19:37

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens....Grin

Dd2 isn't much better SC she's still sullen but stopped snarling at us all(for now)
I let her watch an episode of gone in catch up and have a bit of cake lil zoo made.
We are watching something on netflix(bit scary)to have bit time together.other two doing a "sleep over" in D's fetid pit(lil zoo declared a bath tom morning)

Big pan veggies roasting
I ordered to watch TV
Flowersfor SC

foxessocks · 05/05/2018 20:11

Well I'm in a bad mood too so I'll join you all GinGinGin not that I've actually had any yet because dd is being a nightmare. She has been screaming, shouting, refusing to listen or do as she is told so we have taken a toy away that she loves because that threat usually works and this time it didn't so we had to follow through and now she will not calm down just screaming for her toy back. Well she isn't getting it!!! Arrrrrgggghh AngryAngry

Ds is finally asleep after being kept up by his big sisters shouting for what felt like hours but it's actually only been about 30 minutes.

We had a lovely time at the pub for friends birthday this afternoon and dd was beautifully behaved, she just can't keep that going when she gets home at the moment!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 05/05/2018 21:53

Also in a bad mood. Have either a cold or hay fever or actually I suspect a combination of the two.

Laundry everywhere, have wasted hours on mumsnet and feel sometimes I am just so disorganised and ineffectual. How the fuck are you supposed to keep a house in order, get all parenting decisions right when there is no rule book, spend quality time with husband, keep a semblance of a career going, etc. etc.?! And be grateful that I don’t have any real problems.

Tomorrow I MUST spend less time on mumsnet.

Am worried about cat as she has been much less active of late and is getting older. DD2 scratched me and drew blood this morning. Generally in massive grump. Giving up, sorting with a beer and will start tomorrow with a more positive note. And put my phone in a drawer maybe.

Grumpy wing flaps to all.

Saltcrust · 05/05/2018 23:09

Oh dear everyone - just arrived back on here - and it appears we are all in the same boat!

[Delivers huge crate of mother's ruin and enormous box of Belgian chocs to naughty corner]

Still - solidarity is good Grin

Sorry everyone is having such a crap weekend though! Things can only get better ... right??

Too right Toostressy about being grateful for not having real problems - it doesn't mean that the lesser issues are any less difficult to deal with on a day to day basis though - and well done to you for all the juggling!

Oh lord yes, I remember those 30 mins when your child is screaming being interminable Foxes. Isn't it lovely that they always reserve their most "authentic" behaviour for home Grin

Your "favourite things" reference made me really cackle for the first time today Zoo Grin. (DD has been truly insufferable all day Sad)

Dh got so cross with her that it's ended up with a confiscated phone and a threat that she will not be going out with friends tomorrow if she isn't up, dressed and showered by 10 am and doing hwk until 12 noon with a major attitude transplant to boot . I hope to heaven she complies. Glad to hear there is a cease fire in your household this evening anyway!

Oh crap about the kitchen access Hills here's hoping no more dust wafts in that direction!

I've/Cag funnily enough dd only eats whites of eggs too - rather cheered that she is not the only child that does this!

Weary wing flaps to all! Here's hoping for a better day tomorrow eh?

[SC stomps off necking a large glass of Star of Bombay.. without tonic]

Saltcrust · 05/05/2018 23:10

[And hands over hot toddy for Toostressy]

Stilllivinginazoo · 06/05/2018 05:05

It seems we need to add a sanctuary into the naughty corner, but as hills is already on edge self distraction because of builders I have decided for now to make do with what we have!!

And everyone else; try and remember to be a tiny bit selfish today and do something for you if humanly possible!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 06/05/2018 07:30

Todays plan here is more garden tidy. Hose down and set up toys dragged from garage. Might also start painting rest kitchen inc ds3s wall of food art

foxessocks · 06/05/2018 07:59

Today's plan here is - no shouting!

We were going to visit relatives but I've cancelled as dd really needs a boring quiet day as her behaviour has definitely been because she's so tired. She slept until 7.30 so that's something I guess. I need to pop to the shops this morning and ideally take the dc so dh can work which I'm dreading but hopefully they'll behave. Then home for naps / quiet time!

Happy Sunday everyone hope today is more relaxing for everyone...
