Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

Cripes! That sounds exciting I've! I spent most of my adolescence shovelling horse manure Grin.

Glad your evening wasn't too stressful in the end Zoo!

Cag none of us know for sure what's best; we are all just doing our best in the end. And the decision about secondary school is a profound ly stressful one whichever route you go down Flowers

Thanks Toostressy dh decided he was fit enough to work this pm and is now feeling rough again.

Collected DD from school tonight by taxi and after all the angst and protests, she had really enjoyed helping out this evening, which I'm v pleased about of course but rather wish it hadn't taken five nights of arguments to convince her that this was a potential outcome Grin

HillsBesideTheSea · 04/05/2018 22:12

caG I know some one who has homeschooled her children, one of who is GCSE age and going to college for a few GCSE classes but did not go to high school until that point. People are always going to judge. Shame judgey pants weren't more cutting so that it would convince the buggers it was not worth it.

I am pissed off with school! It will probably spoil my weekend and i am going to have to take a day off next week. Except I can't because of important stuff. FUck fuck fuck fuckety fuck. AngrySad

Stilllivinginazoo · 04/05/2018 22:16

Sounds about average SC but of course I've never heard a "mum you were right after all"Grin

Cag I forgot to post you can only do what you think is right at the time.hindsight makes us all feel inadequate or that we should've done it differently.fwiw I think you have definitely done what's best for YOUR DD.ultimately secondary is hard.the work, changing friendships and introduction of motives and pushing boundary behaviours, changing bodys....I wouldn't do it all again not for all the money in the world
It's very stressful and to have to do all that having moved away and jumping into it amongst strangers would push a very confident child to the edge.im confident to say my dd2 couldn't do that.she knew about 4 girls entering her new school of 9000 and she did not only transition days but a summer school for year 7s.she got on with a few girls but has always struggled maintain any meaningful friendships and I do fret she's very lonely a lot of the time...and now we have hormones in the mix she's incredibly challenging
Sending hugs.x

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 04/05/2018 22:47

sc i am not sure exciting is the right word, i put myself in some awful situations where things could have gone badly wrong. However i intend to use all this to my benefit as my dc will have to try pretty hard to get anything past me!

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/05/2018 05:46

I've I know a mum like that.shes always 2 steps in front
Her DD declared was wearing skirt to school(always wore trousers)and came down dutifully in pleated school skirt saying I'm off now then..mum said lift up that skirt.she said what??don't be so grim.mum said you lift it or I will..she lifted it and had tiny mini skirt under it.ok I go up and take it off.mum said no take it off n give to me .now....

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/05/2018 05:48

Should've added she didn't get tiny mini back.mum had no description where it came from nor prepared let her wear it.dd is 12 btw

Saltcrust · 05/05/2018 06:27

Hope everyone has a fantastic bank holiday weekend xx

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 05/05/2018 06:50

Morning all

Good on her for taking away the skirt zoo! I was not really ever challenged for my behaviour. Well they tryed i suppose but a bit half hearted maybe and soon gave up.

Omg. My kitchen looks like a bomb hit. Anyone see the thread yesterday where OP claimed her sister had destroyed her kitchen? Mine is currently that X5!

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/05/2018 07:14

Sounds like my whole house I've am I really that untidy?or do I have gremlins fucking it up whilst I out/sleeping??

Tadas
Fed cats
Wash on
Bleach lav
Attempt sort wires under computer table into slightly less trip hazard/spaghetti junction status.as I had kitten "assistance" not sure it's much better despite taking me over half an hour....
Wipe dining table
Make breakfast
Dd2 working community cafe so made her porridge top with nuts n seeds.i was glared at,no word said so I've said nothing, grateful she's out of my hair from 745-1.i may need support later as she's in fighting mode prays working softens her or breaks her spirit

To do
Mountain laundry
Locate all rooms to half decent standard
Have bit one to one with other two in case she's in hell mood in return and destroys any attempts at this or any kind family harmony

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/05/2018 07:40

So I've just summon zoolets locate all stray washing that's not in specified location for dirty washing.they have produced enough stuff to do 7 LOADS!!how??just how??

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 05/05/2018 07:46

Except the odd stray sock mine do ok with washing tbh. Although they are younger, it may go tits up when hit teens. We have 3 washing baskets, 2 up and 1 down. Deal with screen time here for older 2 is any clean washing away and bedroom tidy, they keep on top of it this way! Dd is better at using the washing baskets than her dad! His washing is a different story. I cant train that. Its broken.

Ta da

Dc fed

Bowerbird5 · 05/05/2018 08:02

Arrrggh! Don't know.

I have one load today. Must get up. Lazy mare. So tired but have so much to do.
Ta da yesterday.bathroom except floor.
Some of kitchen.
Garden. Re did hen pen...escaped again but stayed in garden. Given her new grass so hope that helps keep her in.
Shopping.
Cleaned out car and packed for weekend. Crikey haven't packed clothes just church stuff must get up in two mins and do that.
Going to new thing at another church it is a day for women. Then onto weekend fun with ours. I need to decide if weather is going to stay warm as I am on cooking duties. Think I might buy one lot of bbq stuff and one of roast dinner. Hedge my bets.
Should be fun but maybe tiring have Tuesday at work then Wednesday to catch up. Should really be staying home to clean and garden but very stressed at work at moment so think weekend away will do me good even if sorting and cleaning another house! Be lots of washing up😣 I am hoping there is a dishwasher. Thought...take radio!
Hope you all have a good weekend and the teens sort themselves out and littlies enjoy sunshine. Doubt if I will be on because no signal for phone where I am going and don't think anything else on yet.

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 05/05/2018 08:32

Thanks for the thoughts everyone 💐parenting is just one long guilt trip isn’t it?

I think, hope we are doing the right thing. I don’t usually doubt myself, like I said normally she is perfectly happy and keen to continue, it’s just difficult when the subject rears up. She has definite FOMO (fear of missing out) so really she’s in a tough position, either way she misses out now and there’s no getting round that. And this is a kid who panics about choosing an outfit for the day or a restaurant meal in case she makes the wrong decision!

I just need to keep working on how to make home ed as successful as it can be. Both academically and socially. Really don’t know how to balance it all! It’s a head scratcher for sure.

Eek we have to leave for ballroom in 20 minutes. DH normally takes her but he’s off doing the first day of a marathon split into 3 in different places around the county. 10 miles today and tomorrow then 6 miles on Monday.

Cagletini is asleep and wearing only a nappy. I am in my pyjamas. Fuck.

Ta da
Cake finished
Some cake delivered to neighbour
Emptied and reloaded dishwasher
Made dc lunch - dippy eggs and soldiers (still trying to get ds to like eggs but he is still just eating the toast!)

To do
More washing
Iron something to wear later

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/05/2018 12:37

Oooh dippy eggs😋
DS only eats yolks(hates texture and flavourless white bits) so he only has scrambled(called strangled in my house)

I just realised only bread in house is pitta and no money til tom,so it's pittas today(in a mo)with tuna/cheese and last remnants salad veg from fridge!!

foxessocks · 05/05/2018 12:40

Ds won't entertain eggs in any form (unless in a cake obviously!) I don't think he has ever actually put any in his mouth he just seems repulsed by them! I keep trying! Dd loves them and always has in any way at all , it's a good easy healthy lunch so it would be good if they both liked them so I didn't have to make different things . Anyway, he ate his toast and has gone to bed now. Dd upstairs playing, dh in the garden working. I am on my own again! Shock Grin

Cagliostro · 05/05/2018 12:50

Same with my two, although DD doesn’t like boiled or fried egg yolk, prefers whites.

So hot out there! We sat and had an ice cream multipack from the coop. Pineapple ones. They are yummy!
