Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

I have a head ache Sad im trying to cure it with tea Brew

I think the thing dc sleeping better for others is partly that you as a parent are in tune and on alert mode so you tend to notice every time they stir. Other people dont. My dp doesnt because i am default parent and he is hopeless....

foxessocks · 27/05/2018 17:20

ivegot funnily enough me and dh were chatting about this a few days ago and decided we need to ditch our baby monitor!!! For that very reason. We need to not hear every little stir and if he really shouts we'll hear him anyway. I don't even know why we were still using it. Just habit I think.

Hope your headache gets better, maybe it's the weather ? Think more storms are due here but not sure if same where you are.

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 27/05/2018 17:54

We have not only a monitor but a motion mat lol

Cagliostro · 27/05/2018 18:09

I’m here! We were in town, wanted to get a few bits of shopping and DS had money to spend so he was happy. I found some games I have been wanting :o hopefully we can play them later.

DD had an epic time at the medieval fayre. She’s just got in so I’m going to have to hand her the baby so I can get dinner done! Not that she minds, as she’s missed her like crazy. Im glad I made the sauce earlier - I was supposed to be doing mackerel for lunch but it smelled funny so I decided to cook that instead and then had a sandwich for lunch.

Hi all - sorry have just skimmed thread, but sorry to hear your news zoo.
Today we went to Quakers and then e.g. tackled the ground elder in the garden, I painted the pantry, and the dc moaned - but then started playing nicely. Have a ratatouille in the oven - date night with dh. Pantry painting took AGES (this is 2nd day!) But finally finished, so tomorrow can load up the shelves and stop hunting for pasta in the boxes stacked up all over the kitchen.

carbonella pantry looks fab(btw I was trying to think ways shorten your name because I'm basically lazy and my default answer was nelly as my kit carbonelle only answers to thatBlush)
I've I'm still here.some bastards drunken arguements and fighting kept me awake once storms stopped so was gone 1 before got to sleep and kits woke me yowling they were half starved at 5.30.i am tired and grumpy already(darent go back to sleep as DP taking D's to see solo at cinema and they need waking and feeding soon to be at cinema for 845(dp likes time to do things at his own slos old man pace)
Yesterday was busy.zoolets had Sunday school.i popped shops dp then made pack up.headed out to a stately home gardens that had a craft fair going on with stunt bikes, falconry, old fashioned carousel and punch n judy.was bloody hot n humid((too much for me)) and I struggled badly by 3pm try sit in a walled garden with sun beat down on us to watch bikes.me n lil zoo escaped out to sit under trees and make huge daisy chains instead --and dp was cross I cleared off early-ish the gardens were beautiful and relaxing to stroll through.as a very young child my dad worked there as a gardener so I had chance to feel near to him for a brief while

Back in reality place it past tip status and washings trickling downstairs as been too busy to keep on top of it,so despite be hot and tired I have to get on top of things, esp as it's half term so it's only going to get worse(sigh)

Tada
Fed cats
Bleach lav
Wash on
Empty all bins
Recycling out
Swept kitchen floor

Need find living room one before can sweep it....

Morning all

Would also love a pantry carbonella! It looks great. I have so much painting to do here there and everywhere.

Zoo sorry you had a bad night. I dont think we had any stormy weather here yet.

I had a bit of a tidy in the garden yesterday. Picked up some plants, seeds and planters from garden centre but forgot compost. Blush So we have plum tomato, strawberry and carrot plants! I might go get compost this morning.

I did loads of washing yesterday.
There still seems loads to do.
Going to check the weather forecast and put last nights load on the line i think.

Saltcrust · 28/05/2018 08:12

Hi all, back in town, hideously humid and airless here! A normal working day here as we had Pentecost holiday last week.

Dizziness just about gone so I can volunteer (as a last hurrah!) for June if you like. I may need help in the last week and over some weekends though when I will be at wreck2 where Internet signal is still a bit intermittent.

Five weeks until summer holidays start Shock Shock (in fact four weeks because last week (les delibés) teachers are marking exams so students only req'd to be in school for Mon & Fri). How the did that happen? Shock In fact, where have the first six months of the year gone? Shock

Life is changing, we recently took delivery of a horse for me and dd to share, and I am going to be based more at wreck2 than here (when dh is around to supervise dd that is - she is still my number one priority of course and dh's office is only 30 seconds from home - and he is going to try and cut down on such extensive travel). I'm a bit sceptical about last bit (dh is the sort of person who can't really be contained in one house or town, or even one country for that matter - he likes living out of a suitcase and roaming the world - but we shall see whether my dastardly plan to establish an (eventual) retirement home for us both in the country will ever come to fruition .. . .

Anyway, enough of dreams ... back to reality this morning! Woke up before alarm at 6am so have ...

Ta da:
on-line supermarket order
ironed dd uniform
emptied dw
made dd packed lunch
hung up two loads washing to dry on terrace
fed wms again
walked the furry

To do:
"work" work: 3 hrs
make leek and celery soup (I know its wierd to be soup-making in this weather but I am dieting)
find a missing box
e-mail db about holiday arrangements
find a vital missing box!
boudoir!!

Also must tackle dd's room. I changed the sheets on her bed before we left for the weekend, took one look at the rest of it, and made a hasty retreat ...must return to it at some point ... [shudders]

Hope those of you in the UK have a lovely sunny Bank holiday!

Will be back to catch up with thread later!

Saltcrust · 28/05/2018 08:15

PS Carbonella your pantry looks fab!

[I've got one - but it is rather inconveniently located on different floor to my kitchen - and I am too embarrassed to take a photo of it!] Blush

Saltcrust · 28/05/2018 08:17

Ooooh to your garden purchases I've they all sound fab!

Bowerbird5 · 28/05/2018 08:51

Hi,
Just popping in.
I had to come back for choir practice yesterday but I am off down today. Should ha ve left to beat the tourists but think it is catching up on me a bit. Wondering if I am daft to go back down going to come home tomorrow or stay by myself and come back Wednesday. Some going home today, one tomorrow if I am going back. Have been busy cooking and sorting kitchen equipment. Left them beef casserole for last night. Need to do lots here or I could stay there and have a bit of a holiday as well. Scenery fantastic. Discovered artisan bakery on Saturday.mmm.
See you have all been busy. Haven't read all the threads to catch up yet but will when I get back.
I think we need a pic of the horse. I love horses and used to have them. Not supposed to ride now and it kills me because finally I have the time ( well I would have to find it) and the money to afford a decent horse for myself. A lady down the road has stabling where I kept pony before she died for two years at reasonable price and due to car accident was told risky if I fell off a wheelchair would be likely.
Right I better get moving. See you in a few days.

I'll read all the links later. Just finishing coffee in bed - first lie in and relaxed morning for weeks.

In Middle of decorating kitchen including painting kitchen cupboards so it's chaos!

I need to:
Sort kitchen cupboard stuff on sides into some sort of order as it will be out of cupboard for a while
Our bedding on
Meal plan - done whilst having coffee
Shopping - food
Ironing
Plant tubs
Plant out the pinks

I'll catch up on the links then and do what I should be doing Smile

Sonnet · 28/05/2018 09:09

I've added living room hotspots to my list Grin

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 28/05/2018 09:34

Sonnet · 28/05/2018 09:53

Thank you both! Smile

Saltcrust · 28/05/2018 09:59

A warm welcome to Sonnet!

Saltcrust · 28/05/2018 10:12

Meant to say Sonnet can certainly identify with menopausal "fog"!

Waves to Bower! Hope you are enjoying your extended w/e wherever you have decided to be. Oh that's a great shame that you can't ride any longer; horses are v therapeutic to be around. Tbh I am nearly at that point too (my back is shot) - dd will be main rider - but I am trying to lose weight and get fitter; might have to invest in a winch Wink

Ta for links Cag!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 28/05/2018 10:35

zoo i been doing shit like that for years and im only just 30....

Saltcrust · 28/05/2018 10:40

With 4 kids each I think you are allowed to be as forgetful as you like I've and Zoo!! Grin Crikey, I'd be leaving one of the kids in the fridge/freezer, not just the keys!

The question is, do you properly rummage in your handbag? You have to be a proper rummager to qualify Grin
