Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

My car is still at the garage
I know it can't be helped and that the mechanic is going above and beyond but it is not helping the stress levels. Did most of the essential errands earlier and gave up around tea time. Still got a crap ton to do like laundry etc but needed to be still for a bit. Will just have to do laundry tomo and run the final errands/print maps etc

Cagliostro · 25/05/2018 20:40

We had such a great day (plant science workshops at a National Trust place) but man alive I’m knackered.

Cagletini (7 months today!) has gone from crawling in that stop start, not quite sure what legs are doing way, to “holy crap she’s unstoppable”.

The house is absolutely NOT baby proof. I’m glad it’s half term next week. Less clubs, less work to do, more time to clear the living room. That’s the only room she’d be put down in. Think we will need a stair gate too as the stairs go into the living room, and she is pulling herself up on the couch so I don’t suppose it’ll be long before she tries to go up them!

I’m excited don’t get me wrong (and the Caglets are super proud of their little sister which is adorable) but I really hoped we would have moved house by the time she was mobile. And am now slightly panicking about safety/hygiene. Argh.

Well... I have gone to bed with a migraine. Just woken up. Hope it's gone because I have lots to do tomorrow!

GoingGoingGoth · 25/05/2018 23:51

SC oooh love elderflower.

Last lot of Ta-dahs
Bottled chutney
2 loads laundry on
Ironing
We had a feed yourself evening as no one was hungry at the same time. I made myself the best omelette I've ever done. Don't know what I did differently but it was perfect this time. Leeks, pepper, mushroom & goat cheese. Had it with chutney Grin

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 26/05/2018 05:02

Morning all

Back to 4 am wake ups here apparently!

cag i would get a gate and focus on sorting your living room, once you can put her down safely without worrying things will become easier. What is the bottom of your stairs like? Do you know what kind of gate you need?

Cagliostro · 26/05/2018 09:48

Yep it’ll just be a bog standard Lindam one, we had them when the others were little (we have lived here 10 years). I was just hoping this would be another thing that could wait until we moved (and then we can get one that screws into the wall - we aren’t allowed here).

Will definitely focus on the living room. DH is off Monday Wednesday Friday next week and I don’t think we have any plans those days other than gym on Wednesday afternoon. Plus the mornings on the other days as no sports club and since it’s half term we will only be doing a few learning apps so don’t need to do much home ed either (although DD said she wants to carry on with science).

We do need to get our bedroom sorted though and actually order her cot. I’m not sure if she’s waking up more often due to pushing herself into the top of the basket. I think we will need to rearrange our room a bit too (as well as clearing the floor again) as with the current layout she may be able to reach the curtains and Trofast drawers if she pulls herself up on the cot bars.

RIght admin type round 1 stuff done. Time to get moving and flying hard and fast. Running out of time here for getting things done. Still got fingers crossed car comes back from the garage today so we can go away. Would rather not have to cancel our holiday. Sad But as it is a driving holiday no car is a major issue.

I am assured that whilst we are away the building work will finish the construction stage so that the decorating stage can start in a couple of weeks. Really really looking forwards to getting tidy and straight again. Especially as this year it means the building work will be done for the year! although next next there will be more Hmm

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 26/05/2018 10:38

I am amazed she fits in a basket! Mine were out by 4 months i think!

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/05/2018 10:45

Car is back...

Cagliostro · 26/05/2018 11:07

I haven’t caught up with the thread yet, just reading back - hills I have never taken melatonin, it’s DD (10) who has been taking it since August after she was diagnosed with ASD. I don’t generally have sleeping problems myself although lately I’m finding it difficult to drop off, partly because I’m thinking what’s the bloody point when the baby will wake up soon anyway 😡😭

Right, we have chosen a cotbed - will be a squeeze but I really don’t want the expense of buying a cot and then needing a bigger bed later (which also involves the costs of getting rid of the first one with no car, buying new bedding etc) and this one is affordable so we are going for it. Going to order it now.

I have a feeling today is going to be really hard. I am craving aaaaaall the carbs.

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 26/05/2018 11:10

She should have been out of it at 6 months really, but she is only just above the 50th centile (was born below the 9th!). She fits but definitely a squeeze now and she seems to wake up when she’s scooted herself backwards a bit and her head touches the top 😳

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 26/05/2018 12:45

Right. Cotbed, 2x sheets and 2x mattress protectors ordered for Wednesday. So will hopefully be able to sort living room first and still have time to do the bedroom on Wednesday itself.

Ugggh I ache so much. Really pissed off. Don’t want to stop exercising. But no idea how to find the balance between increasing fitness and causing DOMS which is becoming a problem again. FML.

DD wants to go to the park today (walking alone with friends) so I think although I’m achy I will say yes because I need to get out of the house.

Just realised I forgot links sorry 😳

Well done cag

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/05/2018 18:59

Hi everyone
We went local book festival event.ds got four divergent books for £2,we did a book trail and wandered around lovely restored abbey walled garden.resolved to revisit without zoolets to walk as shamefully it's in our town (20 mins drive away)and we just don't go there and lots landscaped garden and woodland to stroll thru and big lake at end(so I'm told we didn't get that far)
Went dd1 BBQ for a bit.we didn't stay to eat,but jngelp prep veg for dips etc and she and fiancee did get to help us socially awkward blend in(got articulate out whilst was quiet and just key family on both sides there).we left once more start to arrive and came home to relax/eat then hit local park for couple hours
My nerves are shot and I feel very down.you notice your "differences" when forced into situations you aren't comfy withSad

And to top it off a bit if 16 was stabbed just 3streets away and died 6.15pm yesterday.dd2 walks past the flats he was killed outside everyday on way to school(as do i and lil zoo).very very sad.a 16,17 and 38 to been arrested in connection.whats the world coming to?SadSad

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 26/05/2018 19:10

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/05/2018 20:47

cag don't for get your rest days.

zoo Sad sorry to hear the sad news.

Car went back to garage. It has been a fucking nightmare of a day and nothing is ready for tomo morning because I have been chasing around trying to get car fixed. Too tired to want to move now. Just want to sleep but laundry and bread making and packing are kinda essential tonight. It is beginning to feel like this holiday is not supposed to happen.

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/05/2018 21:13

Sorry it's all gone tits up hills
Hope tomorrow is more fruitful and less stressful
Forecasting storms here tonight

Cagliostro · 26/05/2018 21:48

zoo that’s awful :(

I am thinking maybe I’ll do cardio on alternate days or something. May be better than burnout after consecutive days. I dunno. I hate my body TBH. Just want to be able to do stuff like normal people! Hmm

Anyway. Managed a walk to the shops and did dinner although nearly threw the oven out the window in frustration at its uselessness.

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/05/2018 23:33

Cag when I was training 20hr weeks I had 2 complete rest days - like not even a long walk complete rest days. 2-3 hard training days and 2-3 lighter training days. Most people don't do cadio every day to start off with anyway, medically going from nothing to evey day can be problematic for people even those who have no medical issues. Give yourself a break.

My exercise plan is going to be 1 moderate 2hr session which will be as hard as i feel up to on the day, and then walking at least 30mins per day until I get to the point where I can cope better with that. My second phase of exercise will be to throw in a 10 min to start with session on the cross trainer twice a week, and to gradually increase that time (not sessions). As an all or nothing kinda person I know that it is going to be hard to stick to when i feel ok (as well as when I cba) but pacing is something that I am going to have to keep on top of because I hate flares and how they make me feel.

Cagliostro · 27/05/2018 07:21

Thanks hills Thanks

I don’t think I ever mastered pacing really. I just had to give up a lot. So it’s hard not to now think yay I can do everything! As pregnancy hormones really did seem to help.

It’s only like 10-20 minutes at a time generally. The walk would seem like nothing to most people I’m sure (15 minutes each way, uphill on way home). I also find now that if I’m home all day I feel a lot worse (regardless of whether I exercised the day before - it’s been the case since pregnancy). Like all stiff and sore from not moving enough. So for that and mental health it is better to at least walk a bit.

For some reason pottering about the house is really difficult as it makes me dizzy and worn out, and yet I can walk a reasonable amount without feeling like that. So I end up curled up on the sofa too much.

Cagletini slept almost 6 hours straight, yay! I think when she slept longer the other night, as well as last night, she had no sleeping bag on. So might keep trying that as maybe she’s getting too hot. I fed her around half five and put her back in her bed, but of course I can’t sleep now. FFS. I hate having such a small house, there is nothing I can do housework wise, or having a bath etc, that won’t wake everyone else up.

I am consequently in a bad mood even though I had more uninterrupted sleep than usual!

Quiet day today, DD is being taken to an event all day, need to pack her lunch. DH is working, not sure what I’ll do with DS but I think it will have to involve going somewhere for a bit.

cag funny you should say that bout the sleeping bag, i have new theory as to why ds3 sometimes wakes at 330. Its when hes NOT in a sleeping bag. So with his cot duvet or a blanket he wakes at stupid o clock. Also if if in a thin sleeping bag. So i am now putting him to bed in a 2tog bag with the window open so he doesnt bake and he sleeps much better! The night beforw last i couldnt be arsed walking downstairs for a sleeping bag so tired his duvet again and boom, 4 am wake up.

foxessocks · 27/05/2018 16:55

Hi I've! I had rare night off from dc. As hills predicted neither of them woke up overnight for their babysitters! Back to reality now though Grin

Ta da
Daily routine
Swish and swipe bathroom
Unpacked dc overnight bags / huge bag of toys

Think maybe people are on holiday?
