Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

Oh dear Foxes that sounds like a tough night!

Good luck with your full-on day Hills. I started taking vitamin D regularly last year after blood test showed I was deficient; and I must admit I feel much better for it.

Thanks both. DD has been sick twice and is utterly miserable. It does seem unfair; especially when her male classmates don't have to worry about this sort of thing. The gp said she was too young to take hormones but I am going to take her to have a thorough check up with gynae/ob to see if there are any underlying structural issues (hope she hasn't inherited my dodgy uterus).

Sigh. I haven't got much done yet (and rather selfishly) was hoping for day alone to crack on.

foxessocks · 22/05/2018 08:27

sc I actually found it easier than the previous night as even though he woke up more than once he went straight back to sleep after a drink so wasn't as stressful!

To do
Meal plan for next week
Food shop online for next week
Any planning for week
Fill in form to take to meeting later
Meeting after dinner
15 minutes decluttering bedroom
Clothes pile
Daily routine
Swish and swipe downstairs loo
Exercise of some kind

foxessocks · 22/05/2018 08:28

Oh and -
Make banana cake now I've got some more eggs and my bananas are pretty very very brown!

HillsBesideTheSea · 22/05/2018 09:11

I have gone from 1000 UI to 2000 UI and it is most weird. Normally my brain is overloading itself with ALLL the information, but this morning it is reluctant to do too many things at once and is focused rather than disappearing off into the clouds (which is normal what it does when not doing all the things) Confused would be interesting to know 1. what my vit d levels are like normally and whether the way my body is biochemically handling it is normal or abnormal in some way. Very odd.

Thanks for feedback on the sports idea! Just need to iron out the details really.

Fitness blender is a YouTube channel, lots of videos of workouts with various criteria (I searched low impact) - I think it will be really good for me rather than a dvd as there’s so much choice.

SC so sorry for DD :( this sounds beyond normal, I agree a thorough check is a good plan.

It’s a mummy and baby day today :) the others have already left. Not sure what my plans are other than meeting friends for ice cream later 😍

OP posts:
foxessocks · 22/05/2018 09:45

cag ice cream sounds great! I'm going to check out that you tube thing I think. I have some fitness dvds but I can't never be bothered to put them on because it involves setting up the dvd player as we don't usually use it so it isn't ready to go...and then I feel guilty not using the dvds I have so I end up not doing anything! I am honestly ridiculous sometimes!!

Ta da
Daily routine
Extra laundry!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 22/05/2018 11:37

Hello all. SC, your poor DD. Definitely worth getting her checked over at some point I think.

Ta da:-
Morning routine
Took glass for recycling

To do:-
Phone my mum as we are going to see them this weekend. Putting off the phone call Sad.
Paper declutter of some sort
Batch cook some chilli. DD2 wants to have chilli so we are trying ‘chilli Tuesday’ yes I came up with that name myself in an attempt to be a cool mum. DD1 doesn’t really like chilli (of course) but have some tortilla chips and sour cream and cheese to keep her happy.
Also workmen coming later, hopefully they will finish today.

GoingGoingGoth · 22/05/2018 11:42

✅second wash is on
✅dryer is on
✅scrambled eggs for me and baby (dear god the mess)
✅started sorting dry clothes
✅workout (only managed 10 mins, was supposed to repeat the routine twice but I will have to work up to that 😳 or I am maybe more tired due to yesterday)

Now sitting down while baby sleeps next to me. Need to get ready to go soon. I’ve had no time for lunch! Heard from the others, they’ve had an absolutely awful journey so far, will probably be back late. I will probably grab some food before coming home, must pick up a parcel too and get some washing up sponges. Glamorous life!

foxessocks · 22/05/2018 12:31

Oh I hope others like the soup! I just made it up Blush I do like lentils blended in soup it makes the texture delicious. Just my opinion though!

Dc having their lunch now and then hopefully ds will have a sleep and I can do some from my list. Been out this morning so haven't had much time yet.

foxessocks · 22/05/2018 14:24

I'm loving power hours - they really make me focus!

Ta da
made lasagne tomato sauce for later (and half for freezer)
made banana cake with dd
tidied kitchen after above cooking!
swish and swipe downstairs loo
hung laundry out
meal plan for next week
sorted clothes pile in bedroom

to do
15 minutes decluttering bedroom
make white sauce for lasagne later (and half for freezer)
make roasted veg lasagne for dinner
online food shop
planning for week
fill in form for meeting later / attend meeting later
exercise

think I'll have quick cup of tea while I do the online food shop and then another power hour depending on if the dc can amuse themselves that long since ds is now awake again!

Also I know I'm late to the party but I actually did a before bed routine last night and it made things a lot easier this morning. I loaded the dishwasher and put some laundry in the basket ready to put in the machine first thing this morning. Not much but made a difference.

Stilllivinginazoo · 22/05/2018 16:13

I tried a workout cag I like them they're good. I just need a better routine for exercise I think so it becomes habit. If anyone has a good routine for it please let me know! Does anyone do anything like jogging or swimming? I can't really afford to join a gym or anything too expensive but maybe getting out of the house would be better for me.

GoingGoingGoth · 22/05/2018 17:39

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 23/05/2018 06:53

Morning all, am in work today but have managed to plan to go in early to see if I can sign up to the bank for some additional shifts. The freelance stuff I was trying to get into is so time consuming to even get any work and this will be much quicker.

Glad the power hour is working foxes Smile. Re exercise. I am relatively fit but not fit enough and go through phases with exercise. My problem is that the exercise I do like (joining a gym or swimming in a posh pool or gymnastics / dance) is either too expensive or I am realistically too old or with too little talent. Or not fun as requires more commitment than I want to give.

So I am resigned to hating it. The cheapest exercise is running or fitness videos which of course are especially good if you can’t leave the house. You need to find a time that works and force yourself to do it I’m afraid. I never plan to do it in the evenings as I know I CBA. I force myself out for a run or to do an exercise video but not that often. When my DC were the age of yours I have to say I didn’t really too anything as it is hard and I was too tired. You can attempt a video with them but may need to accept it will be ineffective! I actually had a thread a while ago when mine were younger asking for ideas, I’ll see if I can find it.

To do:-
Sign up for extra work
Regular job
Meal out Smile

Big wing flaps to all.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 23/05/2018 06:55

My old thread is here

foxessocks · 23/05/2018 07:24

Thanks toostressy I used to do exercise dvds with dd while ds slept but now ds is older it's obviously more difficult! I'd love to go for a run first thing in the morning but my dh leaves far too early for that I'd have to do it at about 3.30!!! I do lots of walking so I'm fit but I don't do anything to get my heart pumping which is what I could do with. I need something aerobic.

foxessocks · 23/05/2018 07:34

That thread is helpful thanks toostressy

Stilllivinginazoo · 23/05/2018 07:48

Morning all
I am not a runner.i have had intermittent affairs with shred dvd as only takes 20mins to die I walk everywhere in a damn hilly location.i find walking briskly and taking hills as fast as I can keeps me kind of fit a(and carrying shopping obvs)

Tada
Wash on
Cats fed
Kitchen surfaces wiped
Kitchen floor swept
Bin emptied
Zoolets fed n watered
Pack up
Wipe bath n sink
Littertray

rings bell of triumph dd2 Finally cleared the toilet roll crisis afyer dd1 asked if blue Peter were planning a craft day in our lab and suggesting a return of her yet-- again confiscated mobile...the count was a disgraceful 43,but I rode it out.if only the floordrobe was ready for attack....

Stilllivinginazoo · 23/05/2018 07:49

Idon't live in a science facility not counting potential fridge growths that's should've been lav,not lab...Blush

Cagliostro · 23/05/2018 08:43

Morning all!

Cagletini slept over 7 hours straight Shock not that I feel terribly refreshed as I kept waking up! But still, yay!

Day at home today, need to get some more plant science done and also do a homework task for Badgers (choosing a charity and writing about it). Never did spellings this week as we’ve lost the book Blush so will do other stuff.

We also have our/baby’s clothes to put away and more laundry on the go. Really should do some tidying up :( just can’t get the motivation or energy this week! Had a lot of headaches. Really glad DH is off today. Also just realised that it’s half term next week and that means I don’t have to take them to clubs on Tuesday or Thursday.

Caglets have their taekwondo grading tonight, so need to get some practice in. DH is taking them. I’d love to see them but last time I was so paranoid the whole time about baby waking up (and she is much more wakeful and screechy now!) and being stuck in the crowded hall as I couldn’t get the buggy through everyone. So as DH is off this time he can go. Need to freeze some water as my friend told me the hall can get super hot this time of year.

Morning peeps!

(SC remains deliberately silent on the subject of exercise despite increasing decrepitude and mahoosive 500kg incentive arriving on a lorry this weekend Wink.)

Arf at idea of Zoo living in a science facility Grin Yay at resolution of bog roll crisis!!

Good luck to Caglets 2night at tkd!

I got a last min appt with gp yesterday for dd and we ended up with a referral and various prescriptions. She made it in to school for the last two lessons of the day as she had an important test, and is back in again this morning as normal thank heavens.

Flying = zero so far today. Even the morning routine didn't get done. Happily though, my fortnightly ironing lady is currently downstairs doing battle with monster ironing pile while watching a loud and evidently dramatic Spanish soap opera on the telly Grin.

I am working in upstairs office (formatting ruddy tedious template docs). I must admit, now home office has been decluttered (to stage one anyway where you can see floor) it is a much nicer environment to work in.

Have a good day everybody!

foxessocks · 23/05/2018 11:21

Oh I'm so jealous of your ironing lady sc !!

Ta da
Posted parcel (took longer than anticipated as first post office was shut Angry)
Picked up some groceries
Put chicken legs in oven for dc lunch
Put washing on
Booked gp appointment

To do
Collect dd and see if she wants to go for a picnic or stay at home (we were meant to be going for a picnic with my mum but she has had to go and look after my nephew for a few days)
Finish daily routine
Finish form for dd nursery committee - anti procrastination
15 minutes decluttering bedroom

Cagliostro · 23/05/2018 11:42

I have sorted the baby clothes! All the 6-9m stuff is sorted into tubs and the previous size removed to pack into bags. I now really need to properly sort out what is going where. No chance of doing that today though. It’s everything from tiny baby size up to 3-6m, thankfully already organised by size!

Science done. Wash is on and DH is washing up.

Cagletini is officially crawling! Woohoo! But also aaaargh for when she gets quicker. Serious baby proofing needed.
