Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

Lil zoo n D's fed n watered, wash up their tea things
Veg in for dd2 n I

Just go tuck little ones in to read for bit

Am hoping as dd2 being so trying in day bedtimes aren't going to degenerate or I won't just lose will to live I may just give up completely!

foxessocks · 07/05/2018 19:11

Thanks zoo and I hope bedtime isn't too stressful for you! Dd is asleep already I think through pure exhaustion as she was so angry, she had no stories and no supper Sad which makes me feel like shit tbh. Ds is still awake and also playing up because he is copying his big sister's shouting Sad

I would pour a large drink but I've had a headache all day and don't want it made worse although I am tempted at this point. And tomorrow dh back at work and it's a non nursery day so I'm really really hoping they behave! It does seem to be bedtime that's the problem. Tiredness I guess.

foxessocks · 07/05/2018 20:28

Ds still awake. He is so stubborn!!! How is someone who is not even two years old this stubborn!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/05/2018 21:07

Hope he's asleep now foxes
The heat doesn't help
Any consolation lil zoo is wide awake with tummy ache....
DS complaining that dd2 isn't in bed yet(erm she's 14 FFS)and he has go up earlier as prone sit up read into night then not get up
Sometimes you can't do anything right!!

foxessocks · 07/05/2018 21:11

Finally asleep thanks zoo hope things are calming down with you now too! Tell me about it. I don't think this evening was our finest hour of parenting. But we have agreed we'll have a chat with dd tomorrow when she's in a relaxed mood and maybe try some sort of reward chart for good bedtime behaviour see if that helps.

HillsBesideTheSea · 07/05/2018 21:33

I am allergic to potatoes.

All hell is breaking out here. I am super pissed off with the chaos. Like everyone has gone into hiding I am seething anger that much without having to say much of a word. It is waaaaay to hot to consider sleep still. And tomo is going to be a long tough day so I could use an early night.

I have also been drinking water at the rate of a fish. Constantly thirsty in this heat. I think I am on my 5th or 6th litre of water and that is before you count ice tea/coffee. I am in too minds as to whether I want this heat to stay or sod off. SLowly adjusting but heat stroke and heat rash is still an issue

Also ta da
more washing

Cagliostro · 07/05/2018 22:17

ta da
✅put away all laundry (shared between all of us)
✅shopping ordered, got a decent meal plan
✅spent some time setting up links for the rest of the month, nearly done now and will be a useful hard copy for any future months

Must go and hang up the bath mat so it doesn’t go manky. Rock n roll life here!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 08/05/2018 06:16

Morning all. Oh dear, I think if you don’t like the heat (I hate it) the hot weather does help to fray everyone’s tempers, especially kids. I feel much better today, still lingering cough and sore throat but not too bad.

foxessocks · 08/05/2018 08:19

Just realised kitchen this week and mine is pretty much a state as usual.

To do
15 minutes decluttering kitchen
Cutlery drawer
Meal plan next week
Online food shop
Check calendar
Daily routine
Swish and swipe downstairs loo

Ds slept terribly last night we gave in a let him have a cup of milk, we'll have to tackle that another time I think. We think his teeth are bothering him plus he was obviously too hot and for whatever reason decided water wasn't good enough! Dd slept fine and is happy this morning, I've had a chat with her and we've decided to try a reward system for good bedtimes this week so we'll see how that goes...

HillsBesideTheSea · 08/05/2018 08:55

Morning.

Ds has been dispatched to school complete with a smoothie instead of sandwiches well he just throws them out and refuses to eat them
Wool socks 1st load is gently soaking
1st load of washing is in the machine

I am just gearing up to let work know I need the morning off and then go deal with the school thing Hmm

Crap night's sleep. Just could not get comfy so need to remember to find a new physio and book in. If I have not done this by the end of the week someone shout at me. My back is seriously fooked!

To do
lots of things I don't want to
Make cake because if I don't ds will and that will be a kitchen disaster in a disastrous kitchen
Remind ds take ds shopping for getting a card
Practise my 'I have to be nice to the people face' don't make me people, people are too peopley

GoingGoingGoth · 08/05/2018 09:09

Morning all - would like to join the carbs appreciation society.

Can't believe it's only now 9 o'clock. Not sure what happened as DD has another day off school but I'm up dressed & tidying and doing a delayed weekly bleugh

I've found my knee hurts more if I sit still so I'm slowly pottering around the flat putting things away as I go. I would have had the vacuuming done by now but DH pointed out it was only 8 am

Ta-dahs
Cat fed
Swish & swipe
Laundry on
Clean laundry away
Washing up
Tidied over-spilling craft stash
Bins & recycling out

To do
More laundry
Ironing
Vacuuming
Mopping
Shopping
Pack orders

As it's Tuesday I've got my friend round for lunch, DD says she's cooking us pasta. Sounds like we have no choice in the matter Confused

Cagliostro · 08/05/2018 09:14

Mmmmmm carbs

Warm welcome to beary!

Morning all, not a very sleepful night here, but not too much worse than normal I suppose 🤔

All getting dressed early (yes this is early 😳) and getting everything ready as DH is representing his workplace at an autism event and he’s managed to book me on a couple of workshops - one on dyspraxia (which I am pretty sure DS has) and one on EHCPs (which I need to SOMEHOW get sorted for the Caglets... not looking forward to that battle). I’ll then leave the Caglets with DH so I can take baby home and he can do the tap run for once, he’s normally working and it’s exhausting so glad of the break. So must have everything ready and of course neither of them can find black socks. 😡

Must look at bus times now and hopefully get a bit of work done before we go. But will be bare minimum again.

Workshops sound really useful and more important than flying cag

Saltcrust · 08/05/2018 10:53

Morning! Gosh I couldn't contemplate life without potatoes Hills ...didn't even know one could be allergic to them...although aren't they same family as deadly nightshade? Dunno, must look it up!

Good luck with the new Flying regime Beary!

And hope workshops go well Cag

I'm waking up v early atm too Goth (not 4.30 am like I'vegotfamily) but actually waking up around 6 am and feeling ready for action, unlike in the depths of winter when I want to die Grin. You sound v organised! Sorry to hear your knee is still bothering you so much. Do you know how long it is going to take to recover?

Sorry you are suffering with your back Hills and v best of luck with school 'thing'. Amazing list yesterday btw Star

Another amazing list from you Zoo! Star

Sorry you had such a rough night Foxes Brew

Glad you are feeling a bit better Toostressy ! Snap, same here about new glasses/frames saga! Hope you get it sorted.

Enthusiastic wing flaps to everyone else!

Very slow start here today which isn't good as there's loads to be done and it's going to be a scorcher. However we had a bit of a celebration here last night for various reasons, so dh cooked steak and salad, and I (living on the edge as ever!) stupidly, stupidly, drank one flute of white wine which is threatening to turn in to a migraine behind my left eye (it was behind the right last week!). (Sorry to be always listing and whinging about endless ailments; it will be bunions next I tell you!! Grin Grin). Anyway, trying to head migraine off at pass by taking pills early and yes, convienently, eating carbs!! Wink

The good news is that I did manage to complete a full day of Flying yesterday - hardly any dizziness so - drum roll - boudoir is as clean and tidy as boudoir ever gets, ie floors clear, bed clear, load of clutter pushed to sides! Kitchen clean and tidy (still cluttered).

Today = work + parcel packing, bed-changing and laundry.

Supper= cauliflower and chick pea curry thing

Have a good day everyone!

GoingGoingGoth · 08/05/2018 12:04

SC I hope your head eases soon.

Past experience of being a clumsy oaf makes me think it takes ablut a week for my knee to get better. I'm at the doctor next week with a list of minor bugbears so I can add it if it isn't better by then. Getting older is such a joy.

Also ripped a piece off off DH & DD this morning as I seem to be the only one who knows how to use a toilet brush. I know it doesn't feel like a big deal to them but as I pointed out from this side it feels like they think they're too important to clean after themselves but it's okay for me to do it.

Updated Ta-dahs
Cat fed
Swish & swipe
Laundry on
Clean laundry away
Washing up
Tidied over-spilling craft stash
Bins & recycling out
Walked to glass recycling
2nd load laundry on
Vacuumed
Orders packed

Saltcrust · 08/05/2018 13:01

So agree Goth that it's about more than the actual "lack of doing something" and a matter of respect/thoughtfulness towards others. There was a thread on Mnsnet the other day about it being only the mother in the family who picked up empty loo rolls in her household and all the others just dropped them on the floor or left them to stack up on the window sill. She felt affronted by it and I can so identify with that! DD used to leave her cereal bowl every morning for me to find perched on one surface or another and even though it was "only a cereal bowl" to her, it began to feel like a bit of an insult to me every day though its my "job" to clean up ifyswim!

Also can identify with getting older and having a list of ailnents!! Hope doc can help to sort things... .

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/05/2018 13:51

Another one who totally gets the "it's only a dirty......"
With if it's only one you f*ing clean it then!!Hmm

Last servants in this house died of exhaustion!!!
