Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Flylady thread for April, where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system with baby steps, missions, daily focuses (foci?!) and decluttering. But more than that, we are a supportive bunch where we share the trials and tribulations of everyday life. We post our to do and ta da lists and chat a whole lot.
Newbies, lurkers and returners always welcome!
Back tonight with links for tomorrow!

Good morning!

Thinking of you today Plower Flowers

Good luck with everything you have to do today Hills! [Proffers fortifying Brew]. Great list yesterday btw!

That is excellent news about your arteries Bower; so glad you are relieved of the worry about it, but sorry to hear your wrist is hurting. Grin at Henny Penny's escapades!

Star for productive Sunday CAG and ta for links!

Wing flaps to everyone else!

I hardly dare write this down in case I jinx it, but dizziness was a bit better yesterday so I actually have a small ta da list to report from Sunday:

  • carried two IKEA bags of dirty laundry downstairs
  • 6 loads washing inc X3 sets uniform and sports kit
  • hung up four loads washing to dry
  • emptied DW
  • made yet another pot of veggie casserole with onions, carrots, small pots, chickpeas, red lentils, garlic, tomatoes, veg stock and ras-el-hanout (lots of peeling and chopping).

And Star for DH who heroically stepped in and did all things horsey (mainly chauffeuring) with DD yesterday.

To do:
fold towels and pants
sort dirty laundry
do more washing
hand wash scarves
empty dw
e-mail to a woman about a horse
find out about disposal of old clothes
seed planting
on-line returns X 2
meal planning
food shopping with dh
boudoir spare bed clearance
boudoir floor clearance
sort issue of parcel form
order card and present

Loads more but that's a start!

HillsBesideTheSea · 30/04/2018 09:44

Catus are surprisingly easy to kill Black rot is not their friend do not ask how many I have killed Also christmas cacti and easter cacti are not cacti but succulants again don't ask me how I know the difference, it was messy and still involved killing plants

Funnily enough plants are one of my indicators that life is out of control. They die. There is currently a row of shame waiting for me to dispatch them to the great compost heap in the sky.

HillsBesideTheSea · 30/04/2018 09:44

ta da delegate some cleaning jobs to an eager to do things person.

foxessocks · 30/04/2018 09:57

I have no house plants at all - I'm terrible at remembering to water them! Although we do have a sunflower on our windowsill obviously very tiny at the moment, dd is growing it as part of a competition at nursery school. And we also have a small tray of beans in the kitchen which dh is looking after, they are in the way and I'd like them to go outside now!

Ta da
Daily routine
Changed towels (mostly)
Did living room mission of clearing hotspots

To do
Mop
Hoover
15 minutes decluttering living room
Bins
Swish and swipe bathroom
Put new towels in bathrooms

Pick up parcel/ buy cereal and bread

GoingGoingGoth · 30/04/2018 13:01

So sorry to see your news Plover x

Today is speeding by and I don't seem to be getting much done. This wasn't helped by landlady coming round to update us on progress of getting thermal lining for hall cupboards (really bad condensation in there)
She was here for over an hour to basically she's having trouble sourcing a proper installer and so nothing is happening in the immediate future. She's a nice woman and I know she likes coming over for a break BUT I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO!!!!!

Anyway, ta-dahs

Cat fed
Beds
Breakfasts
DD to school
Washing up
Clean laundry away
Cat litter changed
Rubbish & recycling out
Windows open!
Made mushroom soup - had a glut of mushrooms in freezer
Chopped and froze peppers - been in fridge a week, stating to get a bit ropey
More washing up
Orders packed
Text to daughter's karate instructer saying she won't be back for the foreseeable future and thanking him for his time over the last 5 years (she's not enjoying it and I'm sick of the battles)

To do
Ironing
More washing
Vacuuming
Tidying clutter
Collect DD
Dinner
Washing up
etc......

foxessocks · 30/04/2018 13:57

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 30/04/2018 15:42

Its dry here

Feeling really drained

Cagliostro · 30/04/2018 16:07

Raining heavily here. Visit done, was really nice actually. And two big baby things gone which is a bonus!

It gets me stressed out having people round though and the added problem is that it now feels like we have less time to get work done. However I don’t think this would be such a problem if we were tidier to begin with :( as it meant the early morning was spent rushing round cleaning up. The dream would be for us to be visitor ready all the time! So we could just carry on our work as normal and only stop for the actual visit. I just can’t imagine ever getting to that stage.

Had a stressful maths session with Caglets. Sigh. Brought it back round after though as they really impressed me with how much they remembered from Macbeth (we’ve watched the animated version once, and some YouTube summaries).

I’m so tired.

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/04/2018 16:18

Tired here too
I've never woke up properly...
Had CBT,went well
School run
Erm,nothing elseBlush

Tonight's tea
Lamb chops, last off purple sprouting broccoli, carrots, new potatoes.mango sorbet
Dd2 has quorn fillet with see veg and pud

foxessocks · 30/04/2018 16:32

Ooh lamb chops zoo I'm jealous!

Did my list except the mirrors because dh took the window spray to work with him so that's a good excuse isn't it?! Yes I know I could use vinegar...but oh well!

Gammon is in the oven. Going to make a cheats cauliflower cheese with sour cream tonight as I had some leftover from fajitas the other night. Really trying not to waste anything.

To do
Empty dishwasher
Clear out fridge ready for food shopping arriving later

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 30/04/2018 17:15

How do you make cauli cheese with sour cream!? Is it easier? I love it but cba with all the stiring

Cagliostro · 30/04/2018 17:33

I make a mean bechamel so not sure I’d replace cauli cheese. However I do need to find ways of using up sour cream - I buy it for fajitas but even the tiny pots are too much and go to waste!

Hoping cagletini will stay asleep on the sofa so I can do my workout dvd...

OP posts:
TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/04/2018 18:06

I think lots of throngs would be easier if we were tidier to begin with Cag Grin. Glad your arteries are ok Bower.

Big wing flaps to everyone else.

Today has gone ok as I have done some work in the cupboard of doom. However, things are not as good now as DD2 has come out of school feeling unwell so trying to manager her at DD1’s gymnastics (badge week so would have been really upsetting for DD1 to miss. Fun times Confused.

To do:-
Get home from gymnastics
Get DD2 to sleep

Cagliostro · 30/04/2018 18:40

Fair point 😂

Little angel slept the whole time and I managed the full dvd for the first time. Woohoo! The aerobics bit is too easy now TBH but the toning? Let’s just say I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t actually HAVE any tummy muscles. And my wrists are super weak 😰😡

OP posts:
foxessocks · 30/04/2018 19:10

ivegot I just literally stirred cooked cauliflower into sour cream and grated loads of cheese on it. You can then put it in the oven or just serve I think (I didn't have time to put in the oven and it was still nice but think it could be nicer in the oven like normal cauliflower cheese). I put a bit of paprika in too. Cag is right though, I think the usual method for cauliflower cheese is nicer but same thing I always have sour cream leftover from fajitas ( and I get the small pots too )so I really wanted to try and use it in something! There must be other things to use it up in...I sometimes put it in pasta bakes maybe you could try that cag?I think there is a tuna pasta bake recipe I've done before that uses sour cream.

Saltcrust · 30/04/2018 19:51

Great lists everyone!

I've just cooked the most revolting dinner possible: burnt pork chops like rubber with watery veg. Nice! Not that anyone seemed to notice...DH got interrupted by a phone call from a colleague who has the knack of always calling just as hot food is put on the table ...and DD is having a huge strop because her class has a joint detention on Friday night and she is outraged at the unfairness of it ...think I might just go and hide in a dark corner somewhere Confused.

Hope your dd2 is ok Toostressy.

HillsBesideTheSea · 30/04/2018 21:52
