Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Flylady thread for April, where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system with baby steps, missions, daily focuses (foci?!) and decluttering. But more than that, we are a supportive bunch where we share the trials and tribulations of everyday life. We post our to do and ta da lists and chat a whole lot.
Newbies, lurkers and returners always welcome!
Back tonight with links for tomorrow!

Also a fake flyer here Grin. Usually I only look at the missions when I am thread leading, and often don’t even bother then Blush.

Ta da:-
Food shop done and put away
Went for run
Stocked up on birthday cards - good deals at Aldi
Bought two cheap storage baskets to have round the house to put each DDs stuff in to then put away in their rooms (pinched from another thread so will see if it helps).
Prepped most of packed tea.

To do:-
Lunch
Figure out what to do about this activity thing for DD1
Put away and do a lot of laundry
Change sheets in both DDs rooms

Was hoping to do home bleugh but won’t manage that now I don’t think.
Swimming lessons
Have to pop out later for a school social thing. CBA really and DH not feeling well so will do bedtime before I go out then go for a bit.

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 27/04/2018 13:16

Tbh zoo we have a more expensive hoover and it only comes out about once a month Blush

Cagliostro · 27/04/2018 13:17

That is an excellent thread title! Please remind me nearer the time 😀
Pondering whether it’s even worth posting links 😂 but on we go anyway.

I think the most helpful part of flylady for me (apart from being the reason I “met” you lovely bunch of MNers!) has been the overall principle of jumping in where you are, and never being behind.

Argh I lost my whole post Angry

Basically I said I look at the links cag and then I choose if I want to do the mission but I do stick to zones as I find it helps me decide what to do otherwise I waste time thinking what to do and panic!! I'm a rule follower though always have been GrinBlush

Made list of things I want to buy clothing wise
Paid nursery fees
Did some research into dh birthday present

Ive I inherited a hoover but was glad it died.eas heavy and my back hated doing stairs with it!!I'm happy sweeping rest of the place as there's only laminate, tiles and cushion flooring

Can't clean a building site...

Cagliostro · 27/04/2018 14:24

Sorry I got distracted as DH got out of work early. Daily focus is cleaning out bag and car but I’m sure y’all know that anyway!

Productive afternoon ahead. Hahahahaha. Yeah right.

PlowerOfScotland · 27/04/2018 18:39

Dropping out for a wee while, had some bad news today. Will be back soon. Didn't want you all thing I'd barged in then buggered off.

foxessocks · 27/04/2018 18:59

Sorry to hear that plower hope you're ok Flowers

My curry was a disaster - watery and bland. Not sure what I did wrong. It was a hairy bikers recipe. And my cake went wrong too , icing was too runny , it looks awful but tastes fairly ok I suppose! Not a good day cooking wise. Instead of ironing while the dc were in the bath I sat and drank a beer while dh did it all. I'd better help him get them to bed now though ...

Cagliostro · 27/04/2018 19:57

Oh no plower take care, will be thinking of you xx 💐

ivegot 😂 no car here either and I don’t use my own bag now. When I do daily focus I use the changing bag and buggy tidy (we have one of those things that fits over the handle bars and it is always full of receipts etc)

Sorry to hear that Plower hope you are ok Flowers.

Saltcrust · 27/04/2018 21:06

Amazing Flying everyone!

Brew and comfy chaise longue for Zoo no wonder you are exhausted after such an early start baking and such a long day.

Worth checking the curry recipe Foxes - cookery books are not copy-edited well nowadays - I've found loads of errors in ingred lists!

Hope today wasn't too grim Hills

Really impressive lists: Toostressy Goth Zoo Foxes I'vegotafamily!

Like Cordelia I had a rest day today as directed by doc - was supposed to have coffee with friend this morning and go out for supper tonight but felt too dizzy so nattered on phone instead. So behind with housework it's untrue. Heigh ho!

Cagliostro · 27/04/2018 23:18

I’ve still got to catch up on a few pages! Behind on all my threads lately.

Tired.

Missed the bus to baby rhyme and nearly cried I was so frustrated. But ended up seeing a friend instead so that worked out really well.

Did a bit of laundry, made quesadillas for me and the baby, and did some home ed stuff - that’s a full week of trying harder with a bit more structure and it’s gone really well I think. I now need to think of more bits that can be done in short bursts as that seems to be the way forward. What’s even more amazing is that they have been totally fine with switching to the rule of no TV at all during the day. 3pm is “end of school” so they can then have their free screen time or watch something. Obviously this rule doesn’t apply at the weekends, I just want to do spellings (I’ve switched to a system that means I don’t need to come up with words myself every week so hopefully I can just get straight on with setting the new ones each Friday rather than faffing about until Monday) and any online learning stuff at weekends as they enjoy it anyway.

I need to sleep now I’ll try and catch up tomorrow.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 28/04/2018 14:21

I’m here too Smile.

How do you manage without a bag if you don’t carry one Shock? I do venture out for very quick trips without one but feel on edge without the kitchen sink Grin!

Sounds as if you are making some real progress with the home ed stuff Cag. Pleased to hear of rest day SC and sorry to hear of cooking disasters foxes.

Have had some very bad news about a friend’s illness yesterday which has put things into perspective a little. Have resolved to stress less about daily things but that of course lasted about two minutes!

Today is a bit disjointed.

Ta da:-
Dancing for both girls
Reading

To do:-
Take Dd2 to party, leaving DD1 with DH
Swap over then take DD1 to party, leaving DD2 with DH.

DH has a cold so the mood in the house is not brilliant Hmm.

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 28/04/2018 14:53

In my coat/jacket pocket i carry phone, card, keys, lip balm, gum and a tampon Grin

HillsBesideTheSea · 28/04/2018 15:47
