Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Flylady thread for April, where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system with baby steps, missions, daily focuses (foci?!) and decluttering. But more than that, we are a supportive bunch where we share the trials and tribulations of everyday life. We post our to do and ta da lists and chat a whole lot.
Newbies, lurkers and returners always welcome!
Back tonight with links for tomorrow!

Aye, must be awful to be constantly photographed. Dunno though Zoo I reckon it might be refreshing if she emerged in some trackie bottoms, a ratty old t-shirt and some flip flops ... Grin

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 23/04/2018 15:32

I am more of a jeans girl tbh but after having a baby i like leggings or pjs

HillsBesideTheSea · 23/04/2018 15:33

I have no patience. I need lots of patience.
Can I have a get out of housework leave the buggers to it pass?

No? Bollocks.

I suppose I should actually move and finish cleaning the kitchen. I don't want to. Seriously I don't.

Stilllivinginazoo · 23/04/2018 16:08

Of course hills

SC I've I hate formal attire.my wardrobe mainly consist jeans, jeggings, leggings and a stray pair comfy trackie period time bottoms.t shirts and vest tops.

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 23/04/2018 16:10

Mine is jeans, jeggings and odd pair of leggings! Tshirts vest tops and i love a jumper

foxessocks · 23/04/2018 16:33

I mainly live in jeans too. Just had a clear out of my wardrobe, I actually have hardly any clothes now. I used to have so many but since having the dc I was tending to wear the same things all the time anyway!! Oh the glamour.

Ta da
Decluttering in bedroom - wardrobe, got a bag for charity shop sorted, washed under the bed box which was covered in dust, cleared out some of dh old trousers, found birthday card for sil and wrote it ready for end of this week
Swish and swipe bathroom
More laundry on because ds got his sticky hands over the throw on the sofa
Dusted upstairs
Emptied the bins
Mopped
Hoovered
Changed towels
Stripped bed

Dh outside with the dc so I'm having a quick cup of tea before I start dinner. The polishing mirrors / wiping windowsills had been left again. Dh has let ds run through the kitchen with his shoes on just after I mopped Angry same thing happened last time! Argh!

Once again Monday has left me feeling like the whole thing is pointless my house will never be clean and tidy Confused

Leftovers for dinner- we've got chicken, tomatoes, chorizo, cream , cheese and pasta with some other veg thrown in so some sort of pasta bake...hope it tastes ok!

Saltcrust · 23/04/2018 16:41

I have "in" and "out" clothes. Latter slightly more respectable version of former. (House is so old and crumbly; anything smart gets ruined + energetic furry jumps up and sits on me a lot Grin.). I buy multiples too when I find things that fit; virtually wear a uniform nowadays; saves time in the mornings and anyway CBA nowadays. Three exceptions : one complete "occasion" outfit for summer, one for winter and one for in-between (as loathe having to shop for specific event and need occasional v formal thing at last min).

So relatively well organised on clothing front but where it all falls apart from clutter perspective is, owing to weight gain, I have each item in three sizes Blush. Need to sort this as clutter driving me mad but can't bring myself to "waste"/throw away "thin" clothes... even though I have been porky for five years now. Just like the books I can't part with, or the craft materials, of the paperwork, or ....etc etc. Blush

Having bored you all with that - feel rather inspired to donate old clothes now - onwards!

Saltcrust · 23/04/2018 17:22

Ta da: all the pleasant things on my list (ie related to presents and on-line shopping) plus laundry sorting. Nowt else.

foxessocks · 23/04/2018 17:27

I had similar issue today sc , a lovely dress dh bought me a few years ago, I think pre ds but post dd...I was probably much curvier of bust then as it looked good on me while I was still breastfeedingGrin now I am flatter chested than I have EVER been in my entire life Angryand pretty tops ,dresses seem to just gape , or straps slip down, everything looks wrong . I can't seem to find things that look right anymore. Anyway I put the dress back because I've hardly ever worn it and it feels so wrong to throw it out. But I probably should.

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 23/04/2018 17:30

Sell it foxes and put money towards something you will wear

Stilllivinginazoo · 23/04/2018 18:44

foxessocks · 23/04/2018 19:13

Yes I could look into those options - better than keep looking at it and feeling cross!!

Cagliostro · 23/04/2018 20:41

I need to do a bit more wardrobe weeding. I don’t have a lot of clothes at all TBH I just wear the same things over and over. I hate clothes shopping, I only bought new trainers the other day because mine got a hole in.

I like jeans mostly but now like the sort of summery loose trousers. Regular t shirts (although have to be girly fit really as boobs too big for normal ones!) and zip up hoodies. I feel very limited with BFing as not everything is easy to feed in. Not really sure what to keep. I also lost a lot of weight during the pregnancy and have been borrowing jeans off my mum (who thanks to yo-yo dieting has a wardrobe full of jeans in several sizes) as I really don’t want to buy anything.

Struggling to lose further weight though, I have maintained since Christmas which is better than it could be but I have a lot left to lose. Really not feeling the motivation ATM (tiredness = sugar) and feel fatter than ever even though I am most definitely, unequivocally not (4st down from heaviest in jan 17) it’s bizarre I feel much much worse about myself now :(

Sorry that turned into a rant rather than decluttering talk! 😳

Stilllivinginazoo · 23/04/2018 21:20

Aw CAG don't apologise lovely!!

Pregnancy can rock how you see your self, esp as you have lost weight too.you have done well to maintain.i turn to sugar when tired pushes malteser packet away and pretends I didn't eat them
my list of stuff sounded huge but I can actually get everything I own into 2- 3carrier bags(incl thick jumper!!)

Lil zoo n D's in bed
Lil zoo tummyache is back😞it came Sunday and went again mid pm.back today mid pm.might have ring gp tom....

We had meltdown with homework with dd2 tonight.i am very worried about her.shes got exams in may(not GCSE just school has start do end year 9ones) and she has a GCSE English speech to do soon and she's unravelling faster than a ball of wool with my kittens about....
She's not settling to sleep even tho tired, then struggles get up.
Eating loads n saying hungry all the time
Meltdowns are always imminent.i don't know what to do except move into the shed as I can't cope

GoingGoingGoth · 23/04/2018 21:57

Just checking in as household has lurgy.

Only ta-dahs I've managed to keep on top of is laundry & feeding people.

Hugs Zoo as I can't offer any advice

Saltcrust · 23/04/2018 22:25

Flowers Bear Flowers. Cag I don't think any of us are very good at looking at ourselves objectively. You've done brilliantly to have lost so much weight; it's only natural that it will take a while for your head to catch up with your body Flowers BearFlowers

Sorry littleZoo poorly again Zoo and sympathies on hwk/exam stress front for your dd2. DD 's end of year exams start next week (yes next week Shock) and if she has more than two echecs (failures) she has to repeat entire year. Only advice I can offer is that Flylady philosophy works quite well in circs where study has become overwhelming: help them to break it down in to small manageable bites, stress that 5 or 10 mins better than nothing (starting is usually the most difficult), consistently sit down after school (and after snack break) and work alongside her (doing your own paperwork) so you are offering solidarity/support but without doing it for her & you are leading by example etc etc. Also praise effort rather than marks (which I am sure you already do). It honestly does get better as they get used to it! Gin

Hands over Dettol and Brew to Goth

Foxes/I'vegotfamily I've never had much success selling stuff but you've inspired me to try again with a few pieces.

How was your first day Cordelia?

G'night all!
