Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Flylady thread for April, where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system with baby steps, missions, daily focuses (foci?!) and decluttering. But more than that, we are a supportive bunch where we share the trials and tribulations of everyday life. We post our to do and ta da lists and chat a whole lot.
Newbies, lurkers and returners always welcome!
Back tonight with links for tomorrow!

Bastard weather went from snow to record breaking heat. I have heat stroke. The windows can't be opened due to allergies. I am still deep cleaning.

Want to take a guess what kind of mood I am in?

BlueEyeshadow · 19/04/2018 15:55

Agh, GDPR is doing my head in right now. It's kind of a ta da in that I actually managed to do a live chat with the ICO and get some of the info that I need. But also a massive to do because I've got to get my head round it, write a privacy policy and work out whether it's OK to link to Wordpress from my website...

Also Ta Da
Went swimming
Cleaned car
Lots of S&S
Bit of hot-spotting
Work!

To Do
Not melt.

Actually, in the 2 weeks that the house was mostly tidy, most of the time, it was hotspots that made all the difference, but we're slipping back into bad habits now, so need to get on top of that.

foxessocks · 19/04/2018 16:34

Did everything except the 27 fling but instead did a declutter of the downstairs toys. I never seem to make much progress though Hmm

Dinner is chicken stir fry can't face cooking much else!

We've stayed inside most of the day. Ds had a reaction to his suncream and even though I got a new one I didn't want to have to put more on today while he still has a rash. I put a tiny bit on him for the walk to nursery. Rash hasn't got worse anyway.

I seem to have done exactly what fly lady says don't do and gone mad with decluttering but now can't be bothered to put it away so it's worse!!

HillsBesideTheSea · 19/04/2018 17:15

Good luck blue

HillsBesideTheSea · 19/04/2018 18:13

That doh moment when you are bitching under your breathe about the stupid jump in heat and you realise you have a fan, lying on its side that you could be using.

Saltcrust · 19/04/2018 18:17

hq statement for those interested

Saltcrust · 19/04/2018 18:24

And no dh and I haven't ruddy well gone away owing to office issues - DD hardly ever away so shame we couldn't seize the moment - but never mind!

Onwards!

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/04/2018 18:26

HillsBesideTheSea · 19/04/2018 19:27

The more HQ post things the less convinced, I am, that they have a clue or give a shit.

HillsBesideTheSea · 19/04/2018 19:27

THough I do feel a smidge sorry because this was clearly a targetted attack. But they need to wise up.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 19/04/2018 19:37

Hello all, have been AWOL as it has been so sunny we have been out and about. Thanks for data issue info Hills, I agree it is concerning. Cotswold, we will miss you and hope to hear from you again Flowers.

Sorry to hear about bunny SC Flowers.

Also sorry for those suffering in the heat. I hate the heat myself but DH and DDs love it Hmm. Although DD1 would burn very easily so have to be very careful with the sun.

I did some decluttering of the important papers box so it is a bit more organised. Also did home bleugh. Unfortunately also broke our fan Hmm.

I am out tonight for a meal with friends WineCake so am excited Smile.

Big wing flaps to all.

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 19/04/2018 21:02

foxes if ds continues to react to sun cream i really recommend sunsense it is the only cream one of mine can use

GoingGoingGoth · 19/04/2018 21:42

Also found a phone I didn't know about under DD's pillow when I tucked her in tonight. Hmm

No wonder she was happy to go to bed.
I've not said anything yet, I'm waiting to see if she does.

But she will be losing her official phone straight after school tomorrow.

NO shame face Cag life happens we know this. Links happen. Half of us don't even bother to look at them anyway. So meh so what if they get forgotten sometimes. If they are really needed people can find them or ask.

foxessocks · 20/04/2018 06:48

Ivegot thanks I will keep that one in mind if the ambre solaire is no good. Ambre solaire was the only one I could use as a kid so thought I'd try that next! Dd has a bit of a rash too now. Maybe Nivea have changed their ingredients because I'm sure she has used it before Confused unless it's heat rash. I'll just have to see if it goes now I've stopped using the cream I guess.

foxessocks · 20/04/2018 08:38

Where do you get that sun sense one from ivegot I think it might be better after looking at their website. I've got to put ambre solaire on dd as she needs something on for nursery. But will be hard to tell since she already has a rash.

I'm going to pop to the chemist later and get them to have a look at the rash I think. They're very helpful in there.

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 20/04/2018 09:34

We had it on prescription the last few years but dont know if a gp will prescribe now with cut backs. You can buy it online maybe chemist can order it in

Fwiw i was once told by gp they were better with a rash from cream than sun burn from having nothing on

HillsBesideTheSea · 20/04/2018 09:46

Morning.

I am in too minds about jumping ship. So if all my posts disapear then that is why.

Kitchen is 3 cupboards short of completion. 1 is empty and waiting to be cleaned, 1 is half empty and needs remaining dealt with and cleaning, last one needs emptying but that will have to wait until the others have been done due to bench space.

Did tooo much yesterday. I have the ouchies today. SLightly less heat related grumps though which is a good thing.

Saltcrust · 20/04/2018 11:10

Oh no Hills we absolutely need some visceral grumpiness on the thread Wink Grin can't be doing with too much Flylady purple positivity!

And wise words about links to CAG!

CAG the last thing you should be is shame-faced with all the plates you are spinning currently! It's bloody impressive!

A bit of progress to report re: bathroom storage (living on the edge here!). You may remember we had no storage in b'room and bought a not very beautiful IKEA cupboard to ease the problem - which it did! However, storage is only as successful if people use it properly and I kept finding shampoo bottles, brushes, toothpaste, deodorants, shaving cream etc etc (the stuff one uses daily) on the mantelpiece (yes wierdly we have a mantelpiece in the bathroom) which was driving me mad (having to pick up each item to clean under it). Anyway recently took delivery of two Curver plastic off- "woven" white boxes (approx £12) and all daily stuff goes in those! All much easier and "people" are actually using them properly! Success!

Saltcrust · 20/04/2018 11:15

In summary, we have blamed and then sacked the wrong group of politicians!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 20/04/2018 11:15

I am also wondering about sticking around or not

Maybe setting up a new account. Delete this one. Give away no info. Hmm.

Saltcrust · 20/04/2018 11:16

Oh bugger, sorry, ignore last post, wrong thread! Tablet jumping about on its own for some reason!
