Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Flylady thread for April, where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system with baby steps, missions, daily focuses (foci?!) and decluttering. But more than that, we are a supportive bunch where we share the trials and tribulations of everyday life. We post our to do and ta da lists and chat a whole lot.
Newbies, lurkers and returners always welcome!
Back tonight with links for tomorrow!

And here I am talking about being rubbish with food, rather than actually getting off the sofa and making some form of dinner

Did I mention I hate Sundays

OP posts:
Afreshcuppateaplease · 15/04/2018 18:25

Sunday is my worst day

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 15/04/2018 18:35

Oooh interesting Cag, thanks. When I looked at it I didn’t understand the set up instructions Blush. Will look again.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 15/04/2018 18:35

Food is one of the most stressful parts of parenting I find.

foxessocks · 15/04/2018 18:58

Ds is a screaming banshee at bedtime this week. I hope it's just a phase . It's stressful! Sad

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/04/2018 19:43

Banshee bedtimes tested my nerves waaay more than early starts ever did foxesFlowers
Sounds lovely you had time to yourself tho

Afresh I am afraid it's often a long-term problem that frying pans to the skull will only ruin good frying pans and do little else
You do have my outrage and sympathy tho.i can at least tell my "significant other" to chuff off back to his place if he's being a tit no wait, tits are usefulGrin ..surprisingly he's been quite good lately hope haven't just jinxed that

Cag Sundays can be very difficult,I find D's clingy on Sundays in termtime and I hate the whole shenanigans of find this, have you got that ready for next week in vain hope Monday mornings I'm not in mad harridan mode screech top lungs whilst they are like farts in trances(bet that's a charming image I've given of family life at chez zoo)

AnyhooBlush

Tada
cleared table
Found living room floor pointy stick was hidden under dining table detritus
Swept it
Empty overflowing kitchen bin
Deal ants around said bin
Sweep floor
Wash floor
Two more loads laundry(incl new school trousers which I've also labelled before put away)
(And I've still got more, can you tell I've got out of routine?!amazing anyone has clean clothes and dd2 currently whining in bath as only two hand towels left to dry herself on no mean feat as she's a rather rotund thing)
Lil zoo n D's had sandwich tea as we had hot lunch.i want the comfort of pasta.broccoli and mushrooms are roasting to go with that shortly(and cheeseSmile)

Back to school tomorrow

Cagliostro · 15/04/2018 22:59

Good luck with back to school everyone who is facing that. We are sort of back but not really, some clubs go back this week but we have chessington on Tuesday and I feel we need a few more days to get stuff done anyway.

Will be going to sleep soon, brought cagletini up a little earlier than I have managed lately so that’s good.

ta da
✅teeny tiny bit of decluttering, I got some recycling sorted and put a couple of bits aside for the chazzer, then gave up.
✅DH put a wash on
✅both of us put our clothes away from the other day
✅spent ages browsing weaning supplies (bibs cups etc) and got distracted by looking at fancypants wooden baby toys instead so didn’t actually make any decisions
✅got dressed despite not leaving the house
✅transmitted shopandscan barcodes
✅started writing a meal plan for next week. Gave up when Cagletini grabbed the paper out of my hand, scrunched it up and bit it. 😂

Ta Afresh

Yes, hope you get the news you want today Foxes

Which reminds me Cotswold did you appeal the secondary school decision in the end?

Afreshcuppateaplease · 16/04/2018 07:47

We have to apply for secondary this year for dc1. Speaking to parents from year above it on the whole has not gone well!

Bowerbird5 · 16/04/2018 07:53

Waves to everyone.

Goodness took me ages to read all your posts and catch up. Busy, busy!
Congratulations about the dance exam very well done. My DD did a bit of jive in her freestyle sometimes. I still remember when I hear the music.
Not much done at the weekend as we went to Lakes stayed one night. A night of luxury 😄 including champagne and flowers. DH has never done that before but missed important anniversary last year as away and had done nothing all year so I said I was off for weekend with church as he obviously couldn't be bothered and we may as well not be married. I was feeling so upset and neglected. Anyway it seems to have nudged him into right direction. Lovely hotel, delicious meal, beautiful room with a spa bath overlooking the fells. I had bubbles of both kinds in the bath best relaxation I have had for ages. The day had been busy and I was aching from moving furniture etc so the bath was just glorious. We only have a shower at home.
Right better go and get cracking as back to school😛 it will be great to see the kids. I'm sure there will be lots of hugs today. Our children are very loving and miss us in the hols. Some don't get much time and affection so throw their arms around some staff. Busy morning with three groups and then painting daffodils this afternoon.

Zoo what a list already! I need to get up earlier. I used to always get up at 6am but since I have been ill it is 7:30 - 7.45.

Hope you all have a good day. Remember it is tiring at school and they might be grumpy when they come home. I have a snack and downtime when I come in which makes me feel better😊

Cagliostro · 16/04/2018 09:10

Aw so glad you had a lovely night away bower

Good luck foxes and sc and wing flaps to all!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Monday 16th April
Babystep 16 - testimonials - meh
It’s home bleugh day!
We are in zone 3 - bathroom and one other room
The detailed cleaning list for said zone is here (has anyone actually reached that stage? Not sure I would ever get there until we move out when it will be useful)
Your mission should you choose to accept it is a 27 fling boogie
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well schools here are back, although some are on inset I suppose. No idea what we will achieve today. Just realised DSD is coming over too, staying a few days to get her dissertation proposal done (really proud that she’s doing it about autism presenting differently in girls and boys and how this affects diagnosis - so I’ll be gathering friends for research as we have a wealth of experience in this area).

Ugh I’m feeling tangry again this morning. 😴😡😴😡

OP posts:
Afreshcuppateaplease · 16/04/2018 09:25

I AM TANGRY AND HANGRY Angry

foxessocks · 16/04/2018 10:11

ta da
dishwasher on
sides wiped
laundry folded
towels, tea towels, cloths in wash
wiped table mats
tidied porch
took rubbish out
put out new towels

to do
finish daily routine stuff
swish and swipe bathroom
declutter and mission
hoover
mop
upstairs bins empty
change dc bed sheets
dust
polish bathroom mirror

Also I have the dentist so my mum is over later to babysit for me a bit later. Quick cuppa and then going to carry on until she arrives as ds is fairly happy amusing himself and watching duggee this morning. I keep looking outside and thinking how much I need to declutter the garden!!

BlueEyeshadow · 16/04/2018 10:15

Ugh, I have a long list of admin tasks to catch up on, and need to get back into work routines, but am now all shaken up by trying to deal with student loan deferments, which are being delayed by other people's fraud leading to tighter requirements, and internal processes within HMRC and the SLC, the government having sold some of my loans to another company, and many other things beyond my control, all of which is going to cost me money (although it can theoretically be reclaimed). [waah!]

Bonne courage, SC.

Weekend of luxury sounds fab, Bower

Cagliostro · 16/04/2018 10:27

Hey blue nice to see you!

Right DSD is coming for 12, not sure if/when I will get to Boots. Need to figure out dinner as well, and then order food shop. Must get DH to help with the Plan. I don’t think he realised how much I was relying on convenience food TBH, he’s never here in the evenings when I’m knackered because of his job.

OP posts:
GoingGoingGoth · 16/04/2018 10:37

Morning,
Started with enthusiasm but seem to be running out of steam.

Done
Laundry on
Beds
Swish & swipe

Birds fed
Orders packed
Tumble dryer
Less of a boogie more of an aimless wander around tidying things up

To-do
Take DH into town to do posting
Weekly bleugh
Ironing
Collect DD & take her to karate
Dinner.

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/04/2018 10:43

zoo is it wrong that I want to see the results of create a sentence using autopredict/comlete that your phone would come up with? GrinGrin

Today is not going to plan. I slept all day yesterday. Literally all day. I almost feel human. My to do list, however, is feel distinctly out of control!

ta da
strip ds' bed
put clean bedding on to tumble some of the dust out
fold 3 baskets of washing and sort out the ironing pile
rinse down all but 2 of the cupboards that I washed on saturday
sort out parent who had fall (twisted ankle but still) Hmm
Deal with other parent who is in terrible 2 mode HmmHmm
no parents were harmed in this process other than what the kirb did
Figure out how to deal with the rest of the kitchen and sugar soaping.
Have breakfast
hang up some air dry not tumble laundry
sort out the first load of washing and get it on.
gather together stuff to drop off when collecting ds later

Right about to jump in the shower now I have found clean clothes to wear HmmBlush

Then on to all the other stuff.
