Thanks for the idea bower I used to love making leaflets, posters etc. I really can’t say how happy and relieved I am that we are at that stage with the Caglets now. Also want to do lapbooking and stuff like that. I’ve designated this a proper school holiday though, until after our chessington trip on 17th, to give us a good stretch of time to focus on the house without me feeling guilty about not getting home ed done (so much stuff to fit in to our day 😭)

Going to try and get baby into a travel cot in a minute, first time she won’t be on the bed with me (whether on the bed or in the Moses basket on the bed). Eep.

Also big thing for me today, I left her at home! I don’t mean like I forgot her 😂😜 but I really had to go get the mattress, and the weather was horrendous, and mum suggested I leave her with them. So I did. She was fine. I was nervous. But it was ok. Mum lives in Greater London and it was only 45 min round trip, bus there, mothercare, bus home!

FML now DS is snoring. Goodnight fledglings. Please can someone remind me tomorrow that March is over, and I’ll set up the new thread and links for Sunday.

Hello again. Oh, I remember the days of toddler 'help'. It can tip you over the edge sometimes!

Trofast is an Ikea thing - I think it's Trofast that we've got (slide in plastic baskets of varying depths in DD's room, all overstuffed). foxes good to hear that the spots have stopped coming out now!

Tea was fish tonight, what did I do for myself today - um, not sure. We did have a lovely lunch so I'll say it was that.

Thank you Flowers to everyone who has contributed to the thread this month (compassion for the frazzled and caffiend for a start) you are all Star in my eyes and do a lot more than me! I'm saying that now in case I don't get a chance tomorrow due to the lack of wifi in the hotel. It's been a fab month thread-wise. I hope April brings us all back to full fitness health-wise.

The daily summary for Saturday (also available on the Flylady website at flight plan which should update automatically each day.

**

Baby-step no 31 - think about signing up for the individual emails (as there can be quite a lot of them, we would advise caution!)

No zone work or missions at the weekends – woo hoo, enjoy!

The daily focus for Saturday is: family fun day

The monthly habit for March getting dressed to shoes

Have a great trip Cotswold - as ever this thread and everyone's contributions have helped me through a difficult month - so thank you for doing such a sterling job of running it! FlowersEaster SmileHalo (just saying that now as I may be gone when you get back). Happy Easter!

I am still up as, to add insult to injury, I am having a wierd allergic reaction to something or other ...daren't quite go to sleep ...making the most of it by doing never ending laundry ...people will insist on wearing clothes every day. It really is most inconsiderate of them...harrumphEaster Confused

Steamcloud · 31/03/2018 01:53

Amazing lists btw Bowerbird Goth Toostressy and we'll done re: mattress run Cag!

Steamcloud · 31/03/2018 01:54

We'll done??

Well done!!

Bowerbird5 · 31/03/2018 03:01

cags you could always gather some when out and about and do one the first week back as a if someone( like me) was going to London what would they like to see. It would keep them busy first day or two back.
Well done for leaving her. I was never good with that. DS1 was four months I don't remember the others.
Great that you got the mattress too.

Sc I am in awe of the ability to run the thread and juggle family. I wouldn't know where to start. It has been a busy and supportive thread this month. I like that we share our ups and downs as well. Little anecdotes about our day or family life just add to it I think. We're like a cosy little family😉
I hope allergy settles down.🐰

Stilllivinginazoo · 31/03/2018 06:24

Washing, washing and more washing.allowing machine day of for superstitious reasons yesterday means Ile for laundry is huge!

Go church and clean brasses

Buy and drop card off for one our verger as I learnt her mum passed away earlier in week(verger is in 70s,so mum must've been ripe old age but I'm aware she has had Alzheimer's a while)
Must pick up cat litter, forgot yesterday and the tray is most unsavoury this morning...

Right I getting up
Safe trip Cotswold

Bowerbird5 · 31/03/2018 07:25

Morning zoo
Not to worry I had been in bed since 9:30pm! I suffer from insomnia sometimes( most nights) it got so bad once GP put me on medication as he couldn't believe I was going to work with total of 2 1/2 -3 hrs sleep! I was on a small dose for ages. It is always around 3-3:30 when I wake. I have slept for about 3 more hours. Still in bed. I jumped up to get a glass of juice and threw a couple of logs on the fire. I will probably make a mug of herb tea soon. Then get up about 8 since no school.

Plan for today
Find dining room table!
Put away all paperwork in correct files or burn/shred.
Pile of felt - cut out and sew caterpillars which I didn't get around to weeks ago and check the rest of the game.
Clean candle sticks.
Dust clock.
Vacuum sticks and lights carefully. DD and I put this display up twice for Christmas but got sick of taking it down so it stays up. It is twigs, silver and white random decs and fairies and lights. It is very pretty at night in the corner near the table.
Dust window and all the vintage stuff on it.
Get DH to move chairs out and move table so I can give it a really good vacuum.
Dust computer desk and other stuff.
DH to clean kitchen😄he agreed to do this last night.😳 he can wash floor too.
Then all done stairs will be done. If he will vacuum stairs and I do two loads of washing that will do.
Hopefully go out after and buy a yard brush and a leg of lamb or a rack if just us. No news from boys yet, typical.

Bowerbird5 · 31/03/2018 07:30

Bacon butties available about 10 am. And egg if Henny Penny has laid any. Didn't check last night so might be two by 10. Really need to look into getting some friends in the next couple of weeks can't decide whether to get more rescue or some others. I love the speckled grey ones...ooooooh ...just thought one of the kids could buy me a couple for my birthday if stuck for a present.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 31/03/2018 08:07

Mmm pig face butties!

Stilllivinginazoo · 31/03/2018 08:08

We must see photos of
Henny penny at some point😁

Zoolets fed and watered
Wash load in dryer,more on
Swept living room and kitchen floors

Off to church shortly to hit the brassoGrin

foxessocks · 31/03/2018 08:24

Morning everyone! I don't think trofast was what I thought it was Blush I thought it was the huge buckets? Off to Google...

Thanks for great thread leading as ever Cotswold

Ds slept much better he did wake up twice but he went back to sleep better than night before. So some improvement!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 31/03/2018 08:52

You can get very deep trofast boxes foxes

Ta da

Bed stripped
Wash on
Dryer on

Callmecordelia · 31/03/2018 09:00

I'm popping up to say we have huge quantities of Trofast in our house. DD and DS have two tall ones (sadly discontinued, found on ebay) each and DD has four mid size ones and DS a step one. They are brilliant, I use them for toys, clothes, art items and bookcases. As you can get different sizes of tub and shelves they're incredibly versatile.

I use the tubs in my kitchen cupboards, nothing fancy, they just rest on the shelves. I use them for jars and condiment type things, potatoes and apples, crisps, baguettes, water bottles etc. They fit into the awkward corner cupboard space well, so if I need something I can just take out the one in front and then get to the one in what would be dead unreachable cupboard space. Love them.

Anyway, it's lovely to try and catch up with you all. I am cooking for twelve tomorrow and am trying to get prepared in advance. 2.5 desserts done, and lamb is defrosting so I can put it in the slow cooker in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

I really fancy a bacon butty now.

To do
Hoover
Dust
Clean bathrooms
Make kitchen look respectable
Find nice table linen
Put away washing
Try and remember that having guests is supposed to be lovely and they are here to see us, not the house.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 31/03/2018 09:15

I have been gradually exchanging the trofast in dc1&2s rooms for kallax as i think it looks more grown up. They dont have many toys anymore tbh. Computers, lego, board games and craft stuff. Thats it.

I need more kallax to complete this but £££. I'm then going to use the trofast for dc4 and craft stuff downstairs.

Has anyone ever painted trofast? Dc4s bedroom furniture is al white. The trofast is not. This will cause me pain so i ideally need to paint it.

Callmecordelia · 31/03/2018 09:22

Have you got the wooden unvarnished stuff? If so it's probably easy to paint. The varnished wooden version will probably need a bit more care with sanding etc but it should be ok.

It's the melamine covered chipboard version that will be more tricky. Chalk paint maybe?

Kallax doesn't have quite the slim profile of trofast which is important for me as their rooms are slightly awkward shapes. I find the Kallax boxes with lots of stuff in difficult to shift from a height. It does look more grown up though.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 31/03/2018 09:28

They are here and have already complained about something with the house before they actually got in the door Easter Angry. So I have already snapped at them Easter Sad . Oh well, onwards and upwards. DDs bouncing off the walls with excitement. Parents annoyed I have snapped. Aaaaaaagggh.

Steamcloud · 31/03/2018 09:33

Morning everyone!! Yargh! Only just woken up! Shock Slept through alarm (never do this normally) and DH didn't wake me up either!! Have nine million things to do this morning and I am laaaaatttteeeeee!!! Must dash to shops before they close!! Good news though; wierd rash on my back and arms that I developed last night along with runny eyes and nose has completely gone! All v strange ... .

Must dash but good luck today everyone with your various tasks!

Wow Cordelia cooking for 12! Good luck with all the prep ...

Bowerbird I desperately want some Brahma hens with feathery feet!

Must look in to Trofast, don't have enough cupboards in kitchen, but what cupboard space there is is very awkward to access!

Tally- hoo everyone!!!

Cagliostro · 31/03/2018 09:33

We are going to get Kallax in the new house, especially for when the girls have to share we will use it as a divider. I’m excited about all the different things you can get for the spaces - drawers, doors etc. Will need the biggest size one for our board games and another for books!

We have two tall trofast in our room where a lot of their smaller toys live and a 3x3 one with home ed stuff in that the telly sits on. I’m thinking of sanding and varnishing them when we move, as they are quite old. Drawers need replacing too so I’ll plan what sizes we need.

For accessible (in the sense that our nearest IKEA requires a bus, train and tram) storage I really rate the Wilko modular range, cheap and cheerful see through and decent lids.

Cagletini lasted 1.5h in the travel cot Hmm

Callmecordelia · 31/03/2018 09:35

Otoh Afresh most of our trofast has been bought second hand for very little, and you could probably sell your old stuff and get some white second hand ones, saving you the time and expense of paint.

Oh dear Toostressy. Brew

Steamcloud · 31/03/2018 09:48

Oh no Toostressy! Hang in there! And if you don't mind me saying so, they may be your parents, but they are also your guests and so shouldn't be complaining (especially just on arrival) so no need to feel bad about snapping Flowers.

I really feel for you. I remember the days when my late mil used to march through the door and say "I am so glad to be back in my home" (she did it deliberately to provoke a reaction - v cheeky I think ) . I just accepted it because I was young and a wimp "too nice" then and didn't want to cause upset (and she took advantage of that I'm sorry to say. I would react v differently nowadays ... . So don't be browbeaten Toostressy!

HillsBesideTheSea · 31/03/2018 09:50

Morning.

Feeling mildly better after sleeping all day yesterday. Headachy this morning so hard to tell exactly how much better. But I suspect so basic painkillers and a coffee will fix that.

Huge to do list starting with laundry as I have no appropriate clothes to wear. Shorts and short sleeved tops or sundress... Not really the weather for it HmmGrin

SC just to warn you that my virus started with a massive viral rash and yucky nose and eyes. Hopefully you are fully recovered. I swear I didn't share my germs. Computers are that clever yet...

Feel free to come and moan on here Stressy

Afreshcuppateaplease · 31/03/2018 09:50

It is the just plain unfinished wood type that we have. Thinking about it probably just one piece i would use for dc4. Its the step one. We have loads of paint and gloss and shit so i might have a go at painting it.

Most of the drawers need replacing as they do bend with heavy stuff.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 31/03/2018 09:52

stressy i really want you to send your parents to time out Blush
