foxessocks · 29/03/2018 19:18

Ds being a pain to get to bed again. I know he's been poorly so out of routine, over tired etc etc but I really am fed up and need peace and quiet now! Tonight it's just "mummyyy" making me feel guilty and then I go in and he cries when I pick him up Hmm

Can you send your DH round to declutter my house please Bower Grin?

Snow?????? Bloody hell, I have packed away all our scarfs and gloves etc and was going to put them properly away this weekend.

DH out at a work thing so both children still awake but at least they are in bed. Sitting in the dark on my phone waiting for at least one of them to sleep!!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 29/03/2018 20:29

Stressy i just put both dc3&4s snowsuits away today! Piss take!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 29/03/2018 20:31

I feel your pain Afresh. FFS yellow warning of snow in the county but proper local weather says no snow and not that cold so will wait and see. I love snow and winter but it is spring now and I am done!

foxessocks · 29/03/2018 20:45

Hail tomorrow here according to local weatherAngry

Cagliostro · 29/03/2018 21:45

Ugh hope I don’t get snowed in at mum’s. Although it would mean getting fed and frankly a bit spoilt 😜😂

Leaving early tomorrow and I don’t feel ready! I’ll have to get DH to pack the last suitcase, I was hoping to have it all done for him to just bring on Saturday, but I’m behind on the laundry. And I forgot to organise the travel cot mattress, changing mat etc as a mothercare order, so I just hope that stuff is available in the town if I go after seeing my grandma (she’s there in the morning hence having to leave early to see her). Ugh fail. I can hear the drying and washing are done but I’m stuck under the baby. And I can’t reach my cake either 😰

In more positive news the Caglets finished their poster! It shouldn’t be such a big deal but it is. I feel like it represents the fact they are ready for more now. It’s sad because this is the kind of thing I always envisaged doing lots of but they just weren’t up to it for a long time. Moving on and up :)

Also, I have managed to get them to agree that we will get rid of all the Happyland! 😱 We had already got rid of some but I had thought we’d keep some, mainly figures, for Cagletini. But I was paranoid about getting it clean - some was frankly gross after nearly 10 years. Even when I washed it, it’s too hard to get the water out afterwards, and it just sits there, ugh. Have any of you seen that rubber duck cut in half video? (Search rubber duck on FB) OMG yuck :( final straw for me, I was still feeling funny about keeping it and never being able to really tell if it’s clean inside or not. So, decision made. DD understood as I recently made her chuck out a doll she’d used in the bath, you could see black splodges inside the head! It’s not like say duplo that you can wash and drain easily. So we are going to ditch the lot and I’ve promised they can choose her some in a year or so.

GoingGoingGoth · 29/03/2018 23:07

Evening all

Ewwww re rubber duck video I'm avoiding watching it as I can remember DD's ducks going black

Bowerbird5 · 29/03/2018 23:17

Just a thought Cags
What about a leaflet. A4 folded into three and then each section used to write about where your mum lives like a tourist leaflet while they are away. My Yr 5's loved doing this recently. So a little history / geography then local events, local food delicacies.

HillsBesideTheSea · 29/03/2018 23:33

Finally home. Been a long ass day.

SC to echo cag: is it causing you a problem? is there anything to be gained from chasing diagnosis? Does this information empower you enough to help you? Getting a diagnosis can be a long drawn out stressful process which at the end of it there is often very little support unless you are at risk. I would consider carefully whether or not to do anything about it. Not saying not to take it further, but seriously weigh up will the benefits outweigh the potential stress of the process?

I have no idea what I am on that test. I think I missed the link. Tbh i just think I am a perpetually tired pigeon.

I have read some stuff but brain is mush and body needs sleep this bloody gland based virus is apparently not done and I am in for another round of looking like I have mumps. Hmm PLus fibro/cfs flare. Ds is adventuring which means I have a pile of books. Some sausage rolls and cocktail sausage, bottled water and now I am going to hibernate for a few days.

Sorry for being a crap thread member atm.

HillsBesideTheSea · 29/03/2018 23:38

cag empty trofast tubs can be good for laundry... recycling collecting to get rid, holding baking trays/baking cases, throwing crafting stuff in. Sorting tubs. And also as a plant container. Good depth for growing carrots long story you might even get away with other plants too.

CotswoldStrife · 30/03/2018 00:12

Evening fledglings (I've a cheek saying that after midnight), DD has finished for half-term and I'm looking forward to it!

There are no crap members on this thread!

Been out most of today shopping, spent a fortune in Waitrose but it's fun to go round. Not much flying accomplished tbh. Boiled a ham for tea, so ham and chips basically. What did I do for myself today - breakfast from Greggs. Yet again. I am still mystified by my weight gain though Confused Hmm

We are away for a couple of nights at the weekend so need to get the clothes sorted tomorrow and general packing. Not sure what we'll do family-wise yet, may go out for the day or DD might have a busy day on the Wii planned for me Grin

Wine O'Clock for me now, so will post the links and look forward to Good Friday.

Hi all. Bit of a late night tonight as DD brought home a friend in distress after school who is staying over and let's just say it took a bit of time to sort various arrangements for after school tomorrow.

Hills you are NOT a crap thread member!!!!! Quite the reverse!

Hills and Cag thank you very much indeed for advice regarding possible aspergers; much appreciated when you have both had such busy days. (Cag the programme did indeed explore masking in females which leads to far fewer women being diagnosed.). I'm going to read and think about it further over Easter hols. (Hills I'm lucky in that diagnosis process here (as far as I know) is not particularly long or stressful (readily accessible mh care) so that's not an issue.). Not particularly bothered for myself, but if diagnosis could be helpful for DD then worth pursuing I think (she does have strong sensory preferences and some anxiety issues although the latter have improved massively of late).

Retail therapy sounds good Cotswold!

Cag hope you have a lovely visit!

Wing flaps to everyone else!

Only half of ta da list got done. Supper was noodles and veg stir fry bolstered with pre-roasted rotisserie chicken quickly bought from gibier's. Red pepper and butternut squash made for weekend.

G'night all!

Steamcloud · 30/03/2018 01:05

Ha! Mission tomorrow should be interesting!

Bowerbird5 · 30/03/2018 06:39

Morning.
Like Baby step no. 30 that's easy it is mine!

Daily focus should be good...has she seen the state of my car? The trouble is if I clean the car out it means all that school stuff comes inside.😳 I already have about six bags of stuff. Need to sort through again and try and declutter plus declutter and reorganise all this terms work and refine notes I have just shoved in the bag because I need to be collecting children for the next lesson. I am timetabled to the hilt with not a spare minute for filing , writing up notes so always playing catch up.
Woke up at 2:30 thinking it was morning and I would have to get up soon to get ready when through the sleepy fog I realised I wasn't going today. Friday is one of my busiest days, it felt so good.
hills sounds like you are hitting a trough with that virus. I found ( and other people commented on feeling like this too) that I had days where I felt quite down and weepy. I think it is part of it dragging you down. I remember you posting helpful and supportive comments to me and everyone here being more supportive than my colleagues who never contacted me. You are a great member on here. I bought some old fashioned Floridex and that seems to have given me a bit of a boost. Still not back to normal and I started with it in December.

Been some great lists on here recently. I wonder if you realise how much progression has been made. I am hoping to have some good list in the next two weeks as school and tiredness/ illness has just over taken me. It was much cleaner and tidier here when I was off sick. I liked it better now cluttered again. It is mostly school stuff and clothes that I don't put away I have noticed so need to tackle that and try to keep on top of it more next term.
Good Friday today. Remember having to explain about it to a boy once. RE lesson- " So what's good about it if Jesus was hung on a cross and died. I don't think he will have thought it was good." I thought he had a point and I think of it every year. Kids do come up with some great comments.

foxessocks · 30/03/2018 08:56

Cag good plan re happy land, we don't have any of that (that I know of!) so not sure what it looks like but I throw bath toys away regularly for the same reason!

Hills you've given me a good idea - trofast tubs to hold my glass and plastic recycling. Do Wilko sell them? Are they good value? I've not got any.

Cotswold I'm going to Waitrose today as I have a voucher to spend! I'm quite excited , haven't been to one for over a year , it isn't very local really and also I'd spend a fortune!

Ds was up from 4 until after 5 then woke up for the day at about 8. The hour or so he was awake I was so stressed! He didn't want picking up, didn't want dh, didn't want his drink, his teddy...

Anyway, the good news is his pox is all scabbed over so we can leave the house! We are off into town this morning as going to do a few treat things for the dc as we've all had such a rubbish few weeks (or months i have lost track entirely!)

Then later I've got some work to do so might prep dinner early or just leave it for dh. If I decide on soup then I'll make it early and get him to make some bread. But if he doesn't fancy that we'll get something while out maybe. He is a great cook but we have very different styles of what we like to cook so I do the meal plans and then if he cooks he usually does something different anyway or goes to the shop himself. As long as we all get fed then fine!

Brew for you all!

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/03/2018 09:00
