Continuation of the March Flylady thread - all are welcome to join us for chat and general decluttering for our final week of March.

Star Cordelia Star well done you, fabulous news!

As for the rest of you with the work-no-fun ethic, can I just point out that Flylady recommends resting for 15 mins when you are doing the 15 min drills AND has pamper missions, so I think perhaps I need to push 'what have you done for yourself' for the remaining days of the month

Talking about the rest of the month - April is approaching, would anyone like to do the thread for April? I can do it but thought I'd ask.

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 28/03/2018 18:23

I haven’t taken a turn for aaaages so I am happy to? Should be a good month for me, as we definitely won’t be moving, and have less clubs to go to.

Steamcloud · 28/03/2018 18:59

I can help you out second fortnight of April if you'd like Cag (away first fortnight).

Glad you got a bit of peace Foxes!

Owing to lack of time, dinner tonight is frozen pizza with salad of grated carrot, grated white cabbage, shredded cucumber and chopped gherkins with honey/mustard dressing thing (desperately tries to make frozen supper sound more interesting)

HillsBesideTheSea · 28/03/2018 19:05

Tea is some yucky looking slop that actually tastes really nice and was left overs so just needed to reheat in oven and cook a packet of microwaveable rice.
Blush

Cagliostro · 28/03/2018 19:21

Thanks sc :). Is white cabbage easy to grate?!

I basically only use micro rice! Absolutely worth paying for the time saving and not needing a heavy pot here, especially as I usually have brown which the Caglets hate.

I gave Cagletini another bath, got water on her face and she looked confused but then smiled and went back to eating her feet. Most disconcerting not to have a screaming waterphobe 😂

foxessocks · 28/03/2018 19:31

Ds not settling for third night in a row...I think he is just being a bit of a pickle now though as he keeps shouting ""one more" from his bed (one more story). Dd also being a pickle doing her fake cough so we ask what's wrong

foxessocks · 28/03/2018 19:31

That's great cag lovely seeing a happy baby in the bath , so cute!

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/03/2018 20:00

Aw cag that's super cute😍

GoingGoingGoth · 28/03/2018 20:33

Just checking in

I've had a couple of really busy days (on the plus side did 25k steps) followed by doing not much today

Ta dahs
Swish & swipe
Dry laundry away
Ironing
DD to school
Washing up
Rang my mother
Got cat booked in for claws clipped - hate having to do this it's the first time but he's ignoring his various scratching posts and going for my dining room chairs, my desk, the linen basket & the wallpaper
Fell asleep until noon!
I did stuff this afternoon but honestly can't remember what
Collect DD from school
Dinner
Washing up
Helping DH with packing orders

More errand running tomorrow. I need another quiet day

Steamcloud · 28/03/2018 21:46

Fab list Goth!

Love hearing about all the baby and infant behaviour and tactics Grin. They all sound so lovely.

Cag Cabbage was, more accurately, shredded (as for coleslaw). I cheated and used food processor.

Very disappointed tonight as I had another dizzy attack just as I thought I had seen the back of them. Really, really disappointed.

Big wing flaps to all!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 28/03/2018 21:54

Woo hoo great news Callme Smile.

How annoying SC Sad.

Cag, that is fab you can do April. I think I had offered (but very happy not to Grin) so if you need a hand or a night off links or anything let me know.

foxes, it’s really tough when they have been poorly and then bedtimes are awful again BrewBrew.

So, so true foxes and Cotswold and others. I am really guilty of not letting myself sit and relax until stuff is ‘done’ but of course it is never done. I have two school age children and work part time so aside from the dreaded summer holidays I really should be able to find some time to sit. I am going to sit in front of the telly in the naughty corner after posting this despite there being stuff I ‘should’ do.

Glad you got some advice for your DS zoo.

Hope your day wasn’t too stressful Hills.

Big wing flaps to all, the telly awaits...

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 28/03/2018 21:55

Oh and I did the Clutterbug test and am also a cricket although I think I have elements of the others too.

Bowerbird5 · 28/03/2018 23:04

Ha another cricket here.

Well I managed

Went to GP and meds working. Bloods taken.

Bowerbird5 · 28/03/2018 23:05

Congrats call me.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 28/03/2018 23:09

Good news on meds Bower.

Well I half-heartedly watched telly but really I wasted an hour on my phone. So annoyed with myself and now it is bedtime AngryAngry.

CotswoldStrife · 28/03/2018 23:20

Freezer tea here tonight, froz chips/chicken burgers and froz veg. Nicer than it sounds, honest! And as my me-thing-for-the-day I went to my craft class.

Played with DD again (Wii game) as we have a long-running saga going at the moment. Still, plenty of time over the holidays to finish it and start the next one. Seems to have finally caught up on her sleep.

I am also available during April if we need to tag team, although the first couple of days may be tricky for me.

Waves to all fledglings!

Thanks all. I should be ok for April, it’s been a while since I’ve done links but should manage it, and as I say most of April is fairly quiet. I’m staying at mum’s for Easter (3 nights eeeek but DH is coming for the day on Saturday) but I will have the iPad and WiFi anyway so all is well!

I took the clutterbug test, I’m a flutterby 🦋 not sure I agree with all of it though, as it’s not so much about wanting the stuff out where I can see it, more that I totally fail at putting it away. Some of the questions like what is your ideal storage system... well I don’t bloody know as I’ve never HAD one 😳😂 but anyway, it was a fun quiz, I shall investigate that site more. I did like the suggestions for butterflies to have lots of hooks and clear storage tubs as that is basically my current plan #smug 😜😇

We got a little bit done. I flag so quickly though. Not just physically (I didn’t even do much myself as I was with baby) but mentally. All the decisions I need to make about all the stuff - what to keep, and where to put it - are just exhausting!

Not going to beat myself up though, we filled a bin bag and put out loads to recycle. It’s something.

Getting out of the house tomorrow, meeting at the ice cream parlour for a celebration thing. Will pick up vitamin D, might stop by the library and also need different size storage tubs for particular toys.

Cagletini asleep and I’m going to try myself now.

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/03/2018 05:29

Morning fledglings MN

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/03/2018 05:35

Bee
bees have lots of "stuff"
that why I am n this thread sherlock
Grin

Steamcloud · 29/03/2018 06:18

Morning all!

Bbbbbzzzzzzz I'm a bee too Zoo (with butterfly tendencies!). Explains a lot Grin

Speaking of tests Cag/Hills* btw I took Prof Simon Baron-Cohen's autism test after that fascinating programme last night and scored 30. If you score between 26-32 apparently you are likely to have autistic traits ie Asperger's. Wondering now if I should follow up on this...if it's likely to be significant or not? None of the "are you focused on dates/numbers/figures?" type qs apply to me and I was ok-ish on social interaction stuff but there were lots of questions relating to overwhelming detail, creativity, imagination solitude, flexibility, that set off claxons!! DD has taken it now and she's scored one point higher than me. Worth following up do you reckon, or not?

As for Flying, need to do loads to be ready before Easter. The question is, will labyrinthism allow? Starting tentatively:

To do:
animals/clean rabbit's operation site X 4 throughout day
Slightly more thorough S&S than usual
empty DW
fold towels and laundry that I had to leave in a pile last night after dizziness attack
write and post local Easter cards (Fri working day here)
put on white school shirt wash that I prepped last night and had to abandon
TD towels
Possibly - hair cut
Triage more laundry and keep going ...
Polish DH shoes
At least one do walk (if poss) DH will do others
Sort fridge and prep veggie supper plus butternut squash soup for weekend
Sort Easter eggs and hide again
Tidy boudoir and home office
Guest bed linen - calendering

Have a productive day everyone and hope littlies are on the mend ... .

Steamcloud · 29/03/2018 06:26

CAG I am with you on finding decluttering decisions exhausting! I agonise about lots of little individual items and then give up! Which makes sense, as they say clutter is the result of thousands of small delayed decisions ... Blush

Steamcloud · 29/03/2018 06:34

Ta for links Cotswold!

Your post about your dd's fake cough and your ds asking for "one more" story made me smile Foxes! You forget how determined they are to monopolise your attention at that age! (Teens can't run away quick enough - until they really need to discuss something - usually when you have just settled in to bed and have nodded off at 11 pm ... !)

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/03/2018 06:48

Thanks Toostressy. Apparently blood pressure had been " through the roof" when I went to hospital. I was a bit concerned about accessing A& E as no choice. Looks like I was right to go. Gut instinct was that I really felt unwell. Receptionist refused for me to see GP. Ring tomorrow to see if any appointments! My heart was racing and I have previously had a heart attack. Told to go to OOf H which started in an hour and a half. Or go to A& E she said. called 111 another night on friends advice and they sent paramedic. Still feel tired so glad I now have two weeks off to recharge batteries. I would have liked a holiday but DH says flights too expensive. Might try for few days away here. Could do with house clean though.

Steamcloud love that you triage your washing!
Need to get up.
DH home today. Travel arrangements failed due to weather and flight delay means he had to stay overnight.
Must do fridge. He does a sort of inspection of food and dates. Questions " How long has this been there?" It really annoys me as he will eat things out of date. So now I just clean the fridge out day before he comes home but I was out Tuesday and ran out of time yesterday morning.
If I jump up now I can
Clean fridge.
Fold washing and fold down rack in kitchen.
Sweep floor...needs washed.
Stick vacuum over downstairs.
Get ready for work, mustn't forget paperwork for someone.
Breakfast on the go.
Hope you all have a good day. Holy Thursday. Fantastic church cleaning and some of you have amazing lists. Mine are poor. Need to do home Bleugh still. Off to check out previous page as think I have missed one.
