"Mastershed" sounds like a programme on Channel 5
"in which three sets of neighbours have to build the shed of their dreams in under 3 hrs using only recycled materials and a following wind" (when off camera they have access to the unpaid help of 3 designers and unlimited supplies of Farrow and Ball paint which would bankrupt you in rl )
Anyhooo....
Hills adult mumps sounds utterly horrid. Take care of yourself
Dropped nearly all my plates here too if that is any consolation!
Cag well done re: lesson!
Bit of a mixed day:
on the Flying front FORCED myself to do home bleugh plus all rubbish and recycling and collecting up of laundry/plates/mugs so house has just about been dragged back from the brink ...
but - happily- was interrupted by dh who took me out for an early and unexpected lunch and actually turned his phone -off for 1.5 hrs so we were able to have an uninterrupted talk for once. Feeling happier because it turns out that (as ever) the root of current problems lies in his extremely long working hrs ie he finds it hard to discipline dd when just back from a trip and he hasn't seen her for nearly a fortnight, and he desperately wants to contribute to building work despite not really having the time (which comes across as controlling but he has now agreed for the need to delegate). Also, it turned out he had a very good and legitimate reason for working/being away most of the day yesterday but was crap at communicating it--.
So feeling overall much happier but then hen bubble burst slightly by...
(a) doc appt - jointly filled out a form outlining the standard 34 symptoms of menopause - and I appear to have 29 of them! Oh joy!
(b) dd coming home in near hysterics because she failed an important maths test by 0.75 of a point. She understood it all but ran out of time (five pages of equations in one hour). I sympathised by saying it was great that she didn't have a problem with method - just timing - and gently suggested that the way to improve was to practice but apparently "I always say the wrong thing" [sigh] and more shenanigans ensued (totally sympathise as she is under a lot of pressure at school and is doing v well and working hard in other subjects - but lord this sort of thing is draining)
Then prepped last of Easter parcels for nieces/nephews/godchildren and took them to post office.
Managed x 4 washing loads but didn't manage to get them out on the terrace so td instead
Just ending the day now by prepping supper (late in the day): cold roast pork, onion gravy, reheated dauphinoise with some kale for us and broccoli for dd. Very easy as all leftovers from yesterday.
Great lists everybody!!
