Right you horrible lot stop nattering so much nah it wouldn't be fun if you did

So you have wandered into this corner of MN were the fledglings - a long running but very friendly group welcomes newbies and follows the flylady way to try to get decluttered and on top of the boring stuff in order to have more time for the fun other boring but essential stuff

No idea whose turn it was to run the thread this month but here it the thread and we can figure it out from there.

It's wrapped in cobwebs in my garden stressy.I might clean it off and resharpen the end tom.its Saturday, kick back and relax in naughty corner

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 24/03/2018 18:45

Glad DD seems a bit better foxes Smile.

Noooo zoo I have done NOTHING this afternoon except the real basics. Going to shower DDs now and may attempt to stay in the naughty corner and hope for better things tomorrow. The DDs want to go swimming. Ugh.

FoolandFitz · 24/03/2018 19:02

zoo there's a grim fascination with seeing all that dust. I am the same when I use the Dyson and can see the dust collected and when I dust - repulsed and amazed at the same time.

Gosh I thought I had done a lot today, but everyone seems to have done more!

Ta-da:
Vacuum living/dining room
Tidy porch
Cleaned bathroom
Sorted out new savings account
Made dinner - cod in parsley sauce and mashed potatoes and peas.*

  • I made a spicy dinner last night for DP and I and accidentally put in more chilli than I meant to. I can cope with it but DP found it hard going and I thought that his tummy would probably appreciate a peaceful dinner tonight.
GoingGoingGoth · 24/03/2018 19:07

Eeek at Zoo's candyfloss

Don't feel like I've done much today but we did have a long walk this afternoon around Glasgow Green.

Now I just want to lie down and nap.

Cagliostro · 24/03/2018 19:19

I have definitely not done more fitz 😳 only just did dinner. And that was just microwaving stuff!

Am enjoying Marcella stressy but the second series is very uncomfortable watching. I took a while to get into s1 too actually, I watched the first one then didn’t bother for ages, but have now caught up. Also quite enjoying Keeping Faith on iplayer as I love love love Eve Myles. Between those two, masterchef and BBT/young Sheldon I have plenty to watch.

Ah bugger Cagletini just fell asleep on my lap. I really really need to get better at actually putting her to bed. I definitely don’t feel like a grown up lately. Can’t seem to do anything right 🙈

CotswoldStrife · 24/03/2018 20:43

Not much flying here either and we've had a takeaway for tea. Got stuff ready for DD to go out to her friends party today.

Grabbed some paperwork and a chequebook to pay a bill while I was out this morning but picked up the wrong chequebook - luckily bill is not due for a few weeks but I was trying to get in early! My brain is full at the moment, I need to make more lists and write it all down to make a bit of space in there!

I'll post the links now in case I fall asleep early! Currently loafing on the sofa and trying to motivate myself to empty and refill the dishwasher and run some laundry. Short school week next week and one day is own clothes, so no excuse for just getting a bit ready really!

Don't forget the clocks go forward tonight and we lose an hour - nestle down early tonight fledglings and sleep well.

FoolandFitz · 24/03/2018 21:00

cotswold have you tried using a bullet journal? I find that I dump all the information on there, instead of trying to remember it all in my head. People make it look very pretty but mine is very utilitarian. Thanks for the reminder re: clocks btw, had totally forgotten. Ugh! It's my turn to get up with DS tomorrow as well. Sad

Hi,
Discovered on the Internet as long as you have cooked and cooled it properly you can actually eat it 3 to 4 days after but I decided not to risk it. DH would be fine with it that man has a cast iron constitution. Won'tt do that again as I hate wasting food. Thanks for your feedback.

I have been on a craft course today and it was lovely and relaxing. There are some great friendly people on it.

Ta Das.

Happy days foxes

strawberry1122 · 25/03/2018 09:44

Morning all. Slow start to the day here. We didn't get home till gone midnight. I'm still in bed and the kids must be fast asleep too as they have not come in yet either. Not surprised as they were running around all day and night. Forgot the clocks went forward. Hey ho welcome back summertime Smile not sure how much chores will be done here today. Just the essentials plus stripping the beds I'd imagine.

foxessocks · 25/03/2018 10:42

Ds has a few spots today we think start of chicken pox. Mil doesn't want to babysit now which is fair enough (she has had it but still a bit worried) . So I need to cancel our lunch out. Needless to say everyone very grumpy now! Dd upset she isn't seeing nanny Sad

Not sure how to cheer everyone up!

CotswoldStrife · 25/03/2018 12:04

Flowers foxes Flowers it's just one thing after another at the moment! Can you have a pyjama day with films or something? What a pain!

DD a bit tired today after party yesterday but it went well (not her party, a friend's) and need to sort the house out ready for next week. So glad this week has finished as it's been a pain.

The other thing bubbling in the background for us at the moment is a poorly elderly relative - not much we can do practically but it may alter some plans for a family meet up so I'm trying to remain calm and be flexible. It's more the effect it will have on someone else that is the issue and that will be a long-term issue, which we'll deal with when it happens. One of those things you can see coming a mile off, but the person involved doesn't! Ah well!

Better crack on before that super-sharpened stick comes my way

GoingGoingGoth · 25/03/2018 12:23

Oh no foxes you really are going through it.

Can't be too careful with chicken pox. DH didn't have it as a child so caught it off DD. He was covered from soles of his feet to scalp. Ended up with complications and we had a trip in an ambulance. Nurses were coming to look at him mainly because they'd never seen such a bad case. We I can laugh at it now but he was miserable.

Ta-dahs
Beds
Laundry on
Clean laundry away
Bins & recycling emptied - including a quick walk to the glass bank between showers
De-stamened my lily which has just come into flower so the cat is safe.

To do
More reports
Shopping
Dinner
Washing up
Maybe a quick tidy in the bedroom - I missed a couple of this week's missions

Steamcloud · 25/03/2018 13:58

Came on to say I was having a pretty crap Sunday what with one thing and another mainly dh but then saw Foxes post and felt Blush

Poor you Foxes (and your ds) it never rains but it pours... . Flowers Flowers.

And that must have been really awful for your DH Goth I've heard cp is v unpleasant to have as an adult. As I think I've already mentioned, DC are routinely vaccinated for it over here so totally avoided, maybe this should be the subject of the next Mnset campaign?

Sorry to hear about your elderly relative Cotswold very stressful indeed Flowers

On a trying to be positive note: lovely spring-like weather here atm!

CBA with Flying today (which I know I will regret next week).

Wing flaps to all!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/03/2018 15:24

Oh foxes, that was inevitable really, I suppose at least he will hopefully get chickenpox out of the way now (I do know you can have it twice but at least that’s usually not the case). FlowersBrewCake for you.

Thanks for sharpening the pointy stick zoo, it worked!

Ta da:-
Took girls swimming
DD1 homework
Opened a craft kit that had not been used - these shrinkles things that you make things and then heat them up and they make key rings / gems / bits of tat. I think you said a while back that you were trying to use the ‘good’ colouring books etc foxes, I just try to do that too.
Hoovered on top of DD1’s wardrobe and put memory boxes back up there

To do:-
Tidy as much of DD1’s room as is feasible in the next 20 mins or so
Phone my parents
Make tea (chilli) while DH amuses the girls
DD1 is sulking because I won’t make slime with her but I am really trying to tidy and we don’t have the ingredients anyway

Cagliostro · 25/03/2018 17:05

Ugh I think the word of the day is “ennui” Hmm

Have been in bed most of the day with baby, but feel absolutely no better for it, just feel BLAH. DD is playing out, I did finally suggest a walk to the shops with DS but he doesn’t want to... probably for the best as it would literally just be to buy cake. I already have Maltesers.

And to top it all off the washing machine keeps beeping at me and it doesn’t seem to be filling with water properly. :(

Afreshcuppateaplease · 25/03/2018 18:44

Bed day sounds amazing.

I wore new shoes and have blisters. Ouch.

foxessocks · 25/03/2018 19:01

Thank you everyone for kind words Flowers today has been ok we've taken it easy ds isn't at the itchy stage yet though that'll be when I'm here on my own during the week!!

Anyway I have Wine I have strudel and ice cream and the dc are in bed although ds understandably not settling he is definitely not himself. Dh turn for putting him to bed though. zoo I didn't have a bath but I did pop out on my own for a bit earlier as will be my only chance for a while! So that was at least a bit relaxing.
