Right you horrible lot stop nattering so much nah it wouldn't be fun if you did

So you have wandered into this corner of MN were the fledglings - a long running but very friendly group welcomes newbies and follows the flylady way to try to get decluttered and on top of the boring stuff in order to have more time for the fun other boring but essential stuff

No idea whose turn it was to run the thread this month but here it the thread and we can figure it out from there.

Is everyone else on half term now? Or just us?

Steamcloud · 25/03/2018 19:14

Wow, well done everyone - your lists are amazing - you've done loads!!

Yay Foxes a roast plus strudel sounds ace Smile. I just felt for you as it is not long since you had to put up with mastitis (twice) and so many infant illnesses since. It is a really tough phase but glad today wasn't too bad! Also great that you were able to get some fresh air!

Zoo I do indeed feel a bit defeated and frazzled (but am not exactly helping myself today to be strictly honest Blush) but thank you so very much indeed for lovely cheering naughty corner treats Smile. Sending big virtual basket of spring flowers in return!! Flowers

Kicking my heels waiting to pick up DD from maths tutoring ...should be making good use of 45 free mins ...but I'm not!!

Very nice that it is only getting dark here now at 8.15 pm! Birds still singing evening chorus!

Steamcloud · 25/03/2018 19:16

One more week to go here Afresh then fortnight school hols.

Have you tried

Steamcloud · 25/03/2018 19:18

Aagh, message posted by itself there ...

Have you tried Micropore Silicone for preventing blisters? Highly recommend!!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/03/2018 19:35

I frequently don’t make good use of spare time either SC Blush.

Well it was all going ok-ish here until bedtime. We had said DDs could watch a film. DD1’s turn to choose and not vetoed by DD2 (our rule is the other person cannot actually hate the film even if it is not their turn to choose). DD2 settled in room. DD1 came to sit next to her, DD2 objected and kicked and shoved her out of the way and would not stop. So she missed the film and had to go straight to bed. DD1 is only having half an hour or so as really she did provoke DD2 by sitting so close to her and refusing to move. Aaaaaaagggh. So DD2 now asleep, need to quickly make up DD1’s bed as her half hour is up.

At least we have wine.

Steamcloud · 25/03/2018 19:51

Oh that sounds a bit fraught Toostressy Gin. Hope you can relax for a wee while later on.

I am pissed off owing to constantly changing travel plans (no one's fault) - mainly pissed off with myself for not reacting well and not making the best use of the altered schedule.

And I'm pissed off with dh for being unecessarily controlling over things I want to have joint control of (ie building plans) and conveniently placing me in a position of total control of things in which I would appreciate his input (ie dd testing boundaries). Family life eh?

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/03/2018 19:51

BTW thanks for Marcella advice Cag. I gave it another go and am hooked Smile. Series 1 anyway, will wait and see how gruesome series 2 is!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 25/03/2018 19:52

Omg stressy that is exactly how shit goes down in my house too. We have two sofas both large everyone can have their own bloody space!

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/03/2018 20:00

Two sofas here to afresh despite room would be better with smaller,I can't be doing the bloody fighting
SC I love spring flowersGrinand I heard dawn chorus to cheer me this morning.loverlyGrin

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/03/2018 20:06

Oh dear SC, I can see why you are pissedoff. Thanks all. They weren’t even on the sofa, they had put cushions on the floor and were fighting over those! They were two identical cushions so they could have had one each HmmAngryHmmAngry!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/03/2018 20:09

Need to re-read ‘siblings without rivalry’ but am so fucking sick of reading parenting books Grin.

Steamcloud · 25/03/2018 20:10

I think that's a very healthy attitude Toostressy!

Cagliostro · 25/03/2018 20:46

I hate it when my two bicker. DS always seems to come off worse.

Well, small achievement of the day, I bathed the baby. DH has always done it so apart from me popping my head round the door sometimes it’s always been one of his jobs. And on the occasions I’ve sorted bathtime for the Caglets when he’s not here, I just don’t bother bathing Cagletini 😳 but I did this evening and it was quite a revelation. I was expecting it to be stressful hence never trying to use my limited energy on it... it isn’t, because unlike the other two when they were babies, she doesn’t scream blue murder at baths. Who’d have thought it, a baby of mine actually LIKES baths. 😱 It was really nice actually.

Laundry seems to have been washed so I have no clue what’s going on with the machine. Must put another load on.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/03/2018 20:58

That’s fab about the bath Cag Smile. Thinking good thoughts for your washing machine.

My two can get along so, so well at times so I am very lucky in that respect. Still find the bickering incredibly irritating though Grin.

strawberry1122 · 25/03/2018 21:48

Evening all.

Sorry to hear of the bout of chicken pox foxes I hope it goes away soon.

Sorry to hear of the elderly relative cots it's horrible seeing your loved ones get elderly and unable to look after themselves.

zoo my remedy is ice lollies.

fresh last day of term here is Thursday. Praying for decent weather so we're not housebound!

I hope you both had a large glass of wine this evening stressy and sc

We've not done much today. We all got up late after our late previous evening and we're all mooching about but we dragged the kids out after lunch just to get some fresh air then did a Sunday dinner this evening.

Trying to remember my ta das Confused

Washed breakfast dishes and put away
Anti bac'd kitchen worktops
Stripped beds and put in wash
Wiped bathroom basin
Cleaned and bleached upstairs loo
Cleaned and bleached downstairs loo
Made beds
Put another washing load on
Hung out washing
Made tea
Washed dishes and put awsy (again)
Anti bac'd kitchen worktops (again)
Brought in washing
Bathed kids
Done 30 mins ironing
Bleached upstairs loo (again)

Am not chillaxing in the bath feeling quite pleased with my ta da list. It always looks better when you write it down Smile

CotswoldStrife · 25/03/2018 23:29

Impressive list strawberry esp for a Sunday! Cag my own DD hated baths and I did them first thing in the morning and as little as possible when she was a baby - it wasn't part of a 'relaxing' bedtime routine for some years Hmm SC can you remind your DH how he felt when he had DD to himself the other week? fresh DD doesn't finish school until Thursday here so no half-term just yet can't wait though

Waves to Goth, zoo, Stressy, foxes and Bower!

I am keeping an eye on the thread as we have only 58 more messages until max (and I'm about to use 2 of them) so may start a follow on thread just in case we need it later. If you are really, really lucky, I may even share it with you Grin
