Right you horrible lot stop nattering so much nah it wouldn't be fun if you did

So you have wandered into this corner of MN were the fledglings - a long running but very friendly group welcomes newbies and follows the flylady way to try to get decluttered and on top of the boring stuff in order to have more time for the fun other boring but essential stuff

No idea whose turn it was to run the thread this month but here it the thread and we can figure it out from there.

How's your poorly one foxes?

Afreshcuppateaplease · 26/03/2018 09:09

Ta da

Wash on x2
Dryer on
Dc1 3 & 4 up and fed
Dc4 changed and dressed

CotswoldStrife · 26/03/2018 09:18

Morning lovelies! Yes, I'll post a reminder for the other thread when we are close to filling this on up.

Must do some serious tidying today. Things are getting out of control as I've been focusing on laundry instead you'd never know

Thank you for the good wishes towards my poorly relative. I was trying to frame this politely last night - my poorly relative can be a stubborn old goat challenging at times and appears to have rallied a bit yesterday. This is a mixed blessing, as the hospital have a treatment/test plan and the relative is now declining parts of it Hmm Another day or so of them being less able to object would have been useful Grin

I was reading another organising website yesterday (I know Flylady says not to follow more than one at a time) and boy, did it have me down to a T - with my piles of stuff. I'll post a link later!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 26/03/2018 09:20

CotswoldStrife · 26/03/2018 09:26

Stick, stick, stick, stick, sticky sticky stick stick!

——————————————-> Afresh

Cotswold oh dear, we see it all the time at work and it can be so very difficult to balance everyone’s ideas when someone is ill / declining.

SC, I am following both a Flylady and Clutterbug atm, although to be fair she is more about organising tips and does reference Flylady every so often so I figure the two link together nicely. I’d love to see the link for yours as I need all the help I can get.

Sorry to hear of poorly DCs again BearFlowers.

Ta da:-
Went for a run straight after school drop off to get it over with. I have realised this is he best thing to do. Unfortunately this meant I didn’t pick up my handbag (as was running straight from school gates) which meant I didn’t pick up the girls’ bags and they didn’t notice either. So they have gone to school with no bags. Why am I such a disorganised person?????????? I sometimes feel there is no hope for me. Luckily it doesn’t matter too much for what they have today. I could drop the bags off but unless it is really vital I never drop off stuff we have forgotten if I’m off that day. DD1 moves to junior school next year (we have infant, middle and then senior school) and I know they are a bit stricter about parents dropping stuff off so don’t want us to get used to it. Plus if I was working I couldn’t do it.

Oh well, onwards and upwards to the laundry.

To do:-
Become an organised person Grin.

foxessocks · 26/03/2018 09:35

argh lost my post, don't you just hate that! CS don't I've only just got that song out of my head!!! My DS is obsessed with duggee and loves dancing around to that episode Grin

DS okay at the moment, not too many more spots, has nappy rash though which I assume is connected. Took dd to nursery early today to avoid the crows - staff looked at me like I was a bit mad but I thought I may as well try and stop the spread if I can. Not much I can do as nobody else to take dd to nursery but if I can just avoid the crowd where possible.

They've also told me to get dd eyes tested as they think she might need glasses. I'm am really REALLY short sighted so this has made me feel a bit sad because I started wearing glasses at 5 and she is only 4. I know it's fine, but glasses were a real issue for me during my school years, it knocked my confidence (partly because I got quite a few mean comments). DD is a very confident child and I don't want that to change. Anyway, I know I'm being a bit ridiculous and projecting my own problems onto her so I thought I'd say it here so I don't say it anywhere else in real life! Grin

CS hope your relative is okay and accepts any treatment needed.

I must make use of the fact that ds is more tired and sleepy than usual and get stuff done!

foxessocks · 26/03/2018 09:36

haha not avoid the CROWS obviously avoid the CROWDS!! Don't think the crows care about chicken pox!

GoingGoingGoth · 26/03/2018 09:37

Grrr - got sod all done yesterday afternoon as ended up with a migraine and 3 -4 hours in bed.

In the meantime DD decided to make a fridge cake on her own. The kitchen wasn't too bad but she did leave me the washing up Sad

I did manage to read through & sign off DD's subject choices for S3. There's been a lot of support from the school, we've talked things over and she's been very mature working out what she wanted to do. Really quite proud of how grown up she's been.

Ta-dahs
Washing up
Breakfasts
Swish & swipe
DD to school
Laundry on
Another email via Amazon to a company. I want to return the phone case they sent me as it doesn't fit. They keep asking if I'm sure I've got the right model. 1. I have & 2. It doesn't fit!!!! Angry Going to go to the bank for a charge back if they don't sort it out soon.

To do
Practically everything from yesterday
Meeting a friend for lunch who I haven't seen since November - so that's good.

foxessocks · 26/03/2018 09:38

toostressy that's just the kind of thing I do - get organised in one thing by actually doing the exercise or whatever it is and then end up forgetting some else!! At least you went for a run! I haven't done any exercise for ages, I really need to get back into my pilates dvds.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 26/03/2018 09:40

foxes, I wear glasses too (struggle to tolerate contacts) although am not as shortsighted as you. I can sympathise as I hate wearing them so can totally understand why you are sad for your DD. Not trying to minimise it at all but things are quite different these days at least in primary school (not sure about secondary). More kids are wearing glasses anyway (due to better / earlier testing / another reason?). Also the glasses have better designs. At my DDs’ school glasses are really in fashion. All the girls (not sure about boys) seem disappointed if they are told they don’t need them when their eyes are tested. My two keep asking me for glasses when they don’t need them. Can totally understand why it is still sad but hopefully that helps a little.

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/03/2018 09:42

toostressy if you master being organised, tips this way pleaseGrin

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/03/2018 09:44

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 26/03/2018 09:48

Crows Grin.

Love all the typos on this thread, inspired a lot by you zoo Grin.

I cross posted with you, hope you feel better today Goth (or should I shorten you to Going?).

I will indeed share any organisation secrets. Don’t hold your breath...

Cagliostro · 26/03/2018 10:15

I see we have the same to do list, stressy 🧐😂

Foxes I’ve found the same, glasses are fashionable now, and more common. I started wearing mine at five with awful frames, which my parents refused to change (just changed lenses) until I was well into secondary school, they were awful! Nobody’s ever said anything to DD who got hers at 4. DS was sad at his eye test as he’s got perfect vision as he’d fallen in love with a green pair.

I need to get DD an optician appt, as she lost hers. They were free, and it was more than a year ago that she had her eyes tested so I’m hoping that means we don’t have to pay for the eye test, I seem to recall adults can only have a means tested free one every two years. Or would they just reissue the same prescription? Presumably they’d have it on file, I don’t have any paperwork 😳 her eyes may have got worse though.

Cagletini still isn’t sleeping much in a stretch. I think I need to sit up when feeding her and try and get her back in her bed each time. Apparently 4 months is a growth spurt/sleep regression phase, well she turned 5 months yesterday so I demand it stops now 😡😜

I need to get up. DH is busy with the baby then sorting the kitchen. I have my phone ready for when the doctor calls sometime this morning. So much laundry. And general mess. Friends coming for maths/piano lesson this afternoon.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 26/03/2018 10:46

Dd had school eye test and did badly
Had proper eye test and passed with flying colours

She was disappointed at no glasses. One of my older two has had glasses since age 5 and had no issues. We were actually told at parents evening he is very popular in his class, so definitley doesnt seem to have the stigma it once had

Afreshcuppateaplease · 26/03/2018 10:47

Oh and i been hiding on sofa from the pointy stick Grin

GoingGoingGoth · 26/03/2018 11:36

TooStressy I think most call me Goth :)

I've done all my reports for this month! Whoooooo

Also done a phone call to my mother.

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/03/2018 11:44

If it was on the NHS the DD should be tested every year until 16 and it is accounted for and allowed. Ds is with specsavers and they are very good at replacements for broken glasses (and lost apparently but that has only happened once years ago). Covered by the nhs IF you stick to the nhs allowance. DOn't let them force you into the fancy ones. Staff only once made the mistake of trying to convince ds he needed fancy glasses. I strongly over ruled them and they have not suggested it again.

Ds has had glasses since before school. He has had issues when he was in primary but tbh kids without glasses had issues at that primary so least said best. No issue since starting high school and most his friends now have glasses for at least board work.

All the plates got dropped Hmm Also know as I got signed off work sick. Nasty nasty gland based virus. Looked like i had the mumps for a few days they were that swollen. I am still signed off work but in that awkward phase between being better and feeling better but omfg how the hell did the house get into that stage need to fix it stage.

To top it off ds pissed me right off with his attitude, lack of organisation, lying about homework and addiction to his new game. SO I have been angry ironing. Mount OMG Don't tople over I don't want to have to rewash you ironing pile has been removed. But mount washmore needs conquering so I suspect a return to mount ironmore later. Also the bastard new iron that is not even a year old has sodding broken. Not impressed with the shoddy quality. Fucking captialism. I want something properly built that works well and lasts a decent amount of time.

It is such a gorgeous Spring day here that I have hung washing outside for the first time Flowers

Doing some 15 min bursts in rooms, well a few anyway Blush Have hauled more bags of outgrown clothing out of DD's room, I was building a pile on the floor. Went through some drawers at the bottom of her wardrobe and was surprised just how many baby blankets of hers I've kept looks like all of them and she's in double figures now!

Will press on with a couple more bursts before stopping for lunch. Thread has 27 more message to go so will need to transfer to new thread for tomorrow, will post link again before it fills.

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/03/2018 12:28

I am looking at my clothes storage. It is not working. Not sure how to get it to work there is too much furniture in this tiny room. And I am NOT getting rid of the book shelf! I'd rather get rid of the clothes and wardrobe but there are apparently laws against being naked in public and I suspect also death by frost bite. also that this pondering is to get me out of dealing with the mountain of paperwork and the required disassembly of ds' room to remove the desk and lego. Hmm

OP posts:
foxessocks · 26/03/2018 12:31

cs I'm going to get dh to haul our washing line out of the shed later I think! It certainly is lovely today.
