Right you horrible lot stop nattering so much nah it wouldn't be fun if you did

So you have wandered into this corner of MN were the fledglings - a long running but very friendly group welcomes newbies and follows the flylady way to try to get decluttered and on top of the boring stuff in order to have more time for the fun other boring but essential stuff

No idea whose turn it was to run the thread this month but here it the thread and we can figure it out from there.

I said the same thing last night zoo, I can't believe any germs can last in these temperatures!

The snow has really hit here overnight, all the schools and colleges in the County are closed today. We are snuggled up at home although DH has gone into work Hmm.

I did actually do the babystep today and got dressed as soon as I got up. Spent the morning taking various vitamins and paracetamol to fight sore throat, which is a bit worse today. Lots of hot drinks Brew

Should probably get one with something else. DD welded to the sofa and Roblox. The snow here is the fluffy stuff that does not make good snowmen!

Shannaratiger · 02/03/2018 12:58

Morning all new and old

Hello from snowy hampshire, even DH has taken a snow day today - might have to venture out for a snowball fight later!

Have been keeping up with the thread but my brain is being soo rubbish at the moment, thanks epilepsy and dyspraxia, that I can't remember much.

Fellow Clutterbug fan here as well, she used to follow FLYlady so works really well together. Actually brought her old book about what type of bug you are. I'm so a typical ladybug!
DS starts secondary in September as well, was too worried to fill the form online so will have to wait until postal delivery! Hmm I'm really confident though that he'll get into his first choice of school.
Hope all poorly people get better soon. I've recently developed r. arthritus, family history of so not suprised. Have hypermobile joints and am really noticing the loss of movements - fingers on right hand don't bend backwards any more will only go straight. Sad

Was doing really badly on the FLYing but amslowly getting back into it. Always struggle getting the kitchen cleaned before bed, a definate goal is 7 nights of clearing kitchen before bed.

Ta Da in last 2 weeks

Finally after 6 months took old shoes and clothes to recycling bank.
Almost filed all the paper work. DH and DS just need to do the shredding!
Starting to sort out the junk drawers and trying to decide what specifically should go into each.

That's my lot
Going to do something FLYing related

Have a good afternoon everyone, stay safe and warm.

Steamcloud · 02/03/2018 13:18

Lovely to see you Shannara! Good luck with your dd's secondary school choice.

DD has had a sleep and is feeling a bit better; aided by the fact that lovely chem teacher has texted results of test she was worried about and she passed it.

Waiting (without much hope) to hear what TM has to say ...DH popping back from office to listen.

foxessocks · 02/03/2018 13:18

Ta da
Have actually left house and went to visit friend who lives nearby so could walk. Feel much better for having some fresh air.

Unfortunately dd had a huge tantrum on the way home because she wanted to be carried. It was sheet ice out there so very hairy walking anyway and definitely couldn't carry her! Ds has gone to bed. Dd is sulking in her room. At least we have some peace and quiet!

Still dont know whether to pack for the weekend away or not bother Confused

foxessocks · 02/03/2018 13:19

Our appetites are returning so we need to pop out for supplies later really.

foxessocks · 02/03/2018 13:20

Not that my appetite ever went!

Steamcloud · 02/03/2018 13:22

Hope sore throat easing Cotswold

I don't know about anyone else, but we are building up quite a collection of cough/cold remedies and painkillers here.

WhispersOfWickedness · 02/03/2018 16:32

Gosh, that accident sounds scary, Cag, hope you're all recovered soon.

Steam - I've had labrynthitis about 10 years ago, it's awful, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy 😔

Wing flaps to everyone else!

We've been snowed in since Wednesday morning, DH has managed to get out today to the supermarket though. The snow didn't actually seem too deep, but the winds made it drift so it blocked all of the roads out of the village and every time the farmers made it through, the wind would blow it all back again!! It has melted a bit today, although it doesn't seem to feel much warmer 😬

foxessocks · 02/03/2018 17:33

whispers sounds like our village!

Ta das
Almost all daily routine
Packed some stuff for tomorrow (not even sure that we are going but hey)
Dh got some supplies! (Which included krispie kremes not sure how essential they are!)
Sorted some hand me downs for nephew
Helped dd put her new playmobil together
Dh hoovered

To do
check for cups around the house and tidy bedrooms
More packing
Wrap nephew presents
ironing
Make dc beans on toast for supper

Roads were fine when dh went out (in the direction that isn't closed due to snow drifts that is!) But obviously things could change overnight so not getting my hopes up just yet. We are all feeling much better though. I still have a lingering headache but probably because I haven't eaten properly for a few days. Or drunk enough I don't think.

Hope everybody is keeping safe and dry in this weather. I meant to say cag sorry you've had such a bad start to the month - it can only improve hopefully and thank goodness little one is okay at least.

Stilllivinginazoo · 02/03/2018 18:42

Flowerscag hope you are feeling better
Glad you are on the mendfoxes
SC we don't gain meds, just certain foodstuffs(boxes jelly, fruit puree, custard pots etc.start to look like I have a weaning child living here debates whether to hunt to make sure there isn't and if is engage in squishy hugs )hope DD feeling better soon.hows bunny?

foxessocks · 02/03/2018 19:08

I overdid it and feel I'll again Sad

zoo you sound like an excellent neighbour , good news about dd as well.

How long does jelly keep inthe fridge if fully covered?

foxessocks · 02/03/2018 19:09

*ill that should say

Steamcloud · 02/03/2018 21:55

Do take it steady Foxes hope you are able to get away if at all possible, and safe travelling if you go.

How lovely about mother's day gifts Zoo and much deserved! That's great about DD and hospital appt!

Whispers glad you have supplies for weekend! Do you mind me asking if you ever had another attack of labyrinthitis? Lots of people seem to have one or two attacks and then no more (desperately hoping!). Agree it is utterly horrid!

Cheery wing flaps to everyone else!

We finally have snow and are staying in town this weekend as we heard on news our country motorway route is closed. DD is feeling considerably better (food consumption and level of stroppiness went up accordingly throughout the day!) and bun has survived op but had to have bigger op than planned so they want her to stay in possibly for a week I shall be hiding bills from dh so they asked me to take in selection of her usual foods so spent virtually entire afternoon skidding about on glass-like pavements (this was before it snowed - not the best of experiences when one is already having balance issues!!) buying mint, chervil, rabbit pellets, hay, carrots and then persuading DH to drive me there and back in treacherous conditions (which is when it did start snowing finally) and again it took forever. As a result, that's all I did today but thank heavens made fish cakes (up to frying stage) early on in the morning. Tired so have cooked supper, trashed kitchen, and left all clearing up for tomorrow and left washing in machines (sticks tongue out defiantly at Flylady).

G'night all and keep warm!

WhispersOfWickedness · 02/03/2018 22:12

Steam - Not a full blown attack like the first one (so embarrassing, I was at work and my boss had to call an ambulance for me because I couldn't stay upright so she couldn't take me to hospital in her car Blush) but I definitely still have residual effects now. I get vertigo symptoms really easily, particularly on changing position too fast, so couldn't contemplate going on a rollercoaster or similar. I had to stop giving blood because they introduced new beds that flip backwards and I got severe symptoms from that, I asked for a flat bed, but it wasn't an option apparently, the woman just said that after extensive research, everyone preferred the new beds Hmm

Cagliostro · 02/03/2018 22:19

I’ve only had one big labyrinthitis attack and one minor one not long after.

ta da
✅had a bath

Think that’s it! Spent much of the day lying down, while the medication did help with the gallbladder pain I still felt pretty weak and wobbly and my joint pain is still bad anyway.

It has indeed been a miserable start to the month. I am having another early night but I’m too wired to sleep.

Steamcloud · 02/03/2018 22:21

Oh no; very sorry to hear that Whispers that sounds awful. Not nice to have residual symptoms. Not nice at all in terms of one's confidence either. And a great shame about blood donations. I've been given meds (which have given me a rash) and if those don't work, I have to have nine sessions of special physio where they roll you around violently until you puke to "re-balance" inner ear apparently. Confused

(Sorry for thread hi-jack)

Steamcloud · 02/03/2018 22:22

Cage sorry you have had such a tough day Flowers

Steamcloud · 02/03/2018 22:24

Gah, Cag not Cage!

Thks - my sister had exactly the same pattern of attacks as you.

Bowerbird5 · 02/03/2018 22:40

😝 like this SC!

Sorry to hear people unwell and hope you recover soon.
Oh Caglitini I was ready to catch you when I read that. It was too vivid and awful. I hope driver apologised and so glad she is ok.

Haven't been on here because we've had no internet or phone for days and the electric wavered a bit. We have lots of snow though a bit less than yesterday. We had loads on Thursday wheni woke up especially between 5 am -8am. I should have measured it. We had 14 cm on Wed, and so I would think 25-30cm. Only four wheeled drives and tractors in and out of village. My friends son sent pictures of there house and it was past the top of sitting room window. They reckoned it was about 8 foot drifts in the garden. You could only see the top of the slide.
Very tired. Not been very good.

HillsBesideTheSea · 02/03/2018 22:55

foxes about a week. But in this house about 10 mins. Grin best results for sore throat is warm though. Or if in cube form not crystal eat the cube raw if the sugar hit (or fake sugar hit) won't be an issue.

Waves to Shannara

Had a couple of hours sleep this afternoon, and looking forward to getting back to bed! Throat has eased off a bit, consuming many vitamins in the hope of fighting off the cold that is coming on yet again. Not the only poorly fledgling, please all stay safe and warm and seek medical advice if you need to or feel you are getting worse.

Going to post the links next.

Welcome back to returning posters!

Bowerbird5 · 03/03/2018 07:14

Welcome new and returning posters.

Not much here but forecast more today. See DH old village cut off completely. It is only about 5 miles down the road. It is higher up than us though. We can get out with care since yesterday. I'm not going anywhere.

Going to clean bedroom today.
Bathroom
Put casserole on and bake.
