Bloody sods law that whispers Hmm least it can be enjoyed by you?

OP posts:
WhispersOfWickedness · 24/01/2018 21:36

Haha, yes, Hills! (I also forgot to pick up the prescription 😳) That is the stupid thing, why do I want to make our home nice for other people when I should be wanting to make it nice for us to live in?! I've always struggled with this part 😔 The dc even ask who's coming round when I do a mammoth clean... 😳🤦‍♀️

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/01/2018 21:40

You are living my life afreshSad

Callmecordelia · 24/01/2018 21:50

I'm still ill. DH said something about going in to work tomorrow on his day off and I went a bit mad. Angry

HillsBesideTheSea · 24/01/2018 21:51

Grin zoo well done that boy Grin

Yep my mantra this year is I deserve a tidy bedroom. Unfortunately I am shit at keeping tidy but is sooo much better than it has been for years. Just wish there were more hours and energy in a day.

I forgot to do ds' prescription (well ask mum to sort when she took ds earlier) work hours were not conducive to getting down there so that is going to have to be on tomo's to do list.

OP posts:
Callmecordelia · 24/01/2018 21:52

Sorry, meant to add cheese and wine to all that needs them.

Things have snowballed since garden discussions began and I have an architect coming round tomorrow morning. Blush

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/01/2018 22:07

call me sounds exciting!!
Hills he's still in training but basic woman taming/pacifying is almost ingrainedGrin(helps living with me and having 3sisters)
He needs work on using appliances and tidying but I felt that was more urgent for a calmer household.he is already applying technique to dd2 when she's in a furious rage with some success...

I deserve a tidy room is for a an interesting concept.one to work towards...

I am off now to indulge in my guilty little pleasure(law and order SVU on 5usa)....

Bowerbird5 · 24/01/2018 23:18

Well looks like I missed the party in the naughty corner.

I didn't do any more except cook myself a lovely meal. DH bought a whole free range chicken. I did say half or two quarters. To cook for one meal and the fishy Friday. Make chicken soup for Saturday. I even made a detail list. So I had a whole chicken to roast. Potatoes, carrots , peas, mushrooms and shallot because they were starting to go.
Kitchen man went I had late lunch and eight tablets, did 1/2 hr knitting and tired. A couple of people phoned. Friend.GP. Very tired so went to sleep on sofa. Had over an hour. Faffed about then made chicken stuffing etc and DH under instruction bought ready made Rhubarb Crumble. Mmm I didn't feel like making it all but done in no time and watched TV while cooking. It was lovely I like comfort food too when poorly. Tomorrow have chicken for s'wiches and roast for evening just plate up as I make extra veg.
Friday fish or veggie, Saturday bones for Jewish Mother's Soup mmm.
Need to do cc recipe too, sorry. Boudoir looks so much better from bed. Just too areas that need doing but don't know where I can put them.
I haven't rung in and HT didn't phone I thought she was oops😯
Better to see what tomorrow brings anyway.
Plan up and dressed, clothes are ready.
Drive to school.
9-11 intervention and cuddles.
11make way to hospital
Scan, chat.
Make way to school chat to HT. Sort out for Friday.
Go home, tea, vacuum. Meal. Bed!
Wonders if little zoo flew home " Lets go fly a kite up to the highest height."
Night night. Hope babies sleep.
Afresh DH can be like that. Didn't think to was the kitchen floor. Did shopping though.
Zoo tell him DS he needs to learn in case he goes away to Uni or college😉

Afreshcuppateaplease · 25/01/2018 05:43

Now think i may have flu

My head is banging this morning and i feel so hot

Bowerbird5 · 25/01/2018 06:50

Oh Afresh how awful. Can you snuggle down today?
I'm supposed to be going back. Just got up and been awake since 4 had extra half hour after 6 was hoping for a bit more sleep. Wheezing like hell😟 went to make tea. Teasmade mucky from leaving Chia in it. Washed and washed, filled up and on. Back in bed ...no mug😤 I always have a mug. Took a little whisky to bed instead of tea last night.now will have to go downstairs just for a mug cos tea ready now. Still I supposed I could bring brekkie up.

I don't want to go to school. I want to stay here. I don't want to get out of bed!

Bowerbird5 · 25/01/2018 07:24

15 mins.
Back in bed. Lazy.
Took teapot down and gave good wash while wheetabix heating up in microwave.
Kettle on.
Dishwasher emptied. View shiny sink.
Everything ready. Tea, weeetabix back upstairs. Yum
I haven't had Weetabix for years and years and just fancied some in December. I often miss breakfast which I know is bad for me so I have three choices and put all in jars instead of lentils etc so easy access in the mornings. No excuse now.
Rarely miss Saturday breakfast ...bacon and egg butties! More like brunch as I do a couple of hours cleaning, washing etc then refuel.
Feel better. Taken inhaler and stopped wheezing.

Plan for today
Go to school.
Go to hospital app.
Come home early. Prep school work for next week.

foxessocks · 25/01/2018 07:41

afresh I really hope you get some rest and start feeling better soon.

bower I have weetabix every morning! I'm a creature I habit and can't make decisions in the morning so I have the same as my little ds Grin. Dd always wants porridge at the moment although this morning she is after jam toast as a treat.

Dd woke up coughing this morning but she seems better now she is up and had a drink so hopefully be ok for nursery. Can hear ds stirring now at least he isn't crying like yesterday!

To do
Make dd packed lunch
Take dd to nursery
Daily routine
Go to eye test
Pick up parcel
Buy few things from supermarket
Declutter in bedroom
Bathroom swish and swipe
Today's mission (haven't checked yet )

FoolandFitz · 25/01/2018 07:44

So I did everything on yesterday's to-do except the hoovering downstairs - it really needs doing, DP's new black socks are shedding like crazy.

bower take it easy today and good luck
afresh hope you got a better night's sleep, shame we can't give people a emphathy pill to change attitudes - would solve a lot of problems
cag you take it easy too
call how exciting
zoo way to go DS
hills hope you get some time off from work today

Off to work. have a good day everyone

FoolandFitz · 25/01/2018 07:45

oh and sorry zoo I thought you were a single mum? Or have I got you confused with someone else?

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/01/2018 08:17

f+f effectively am singleparent as we don't live together because I'd kill him because of MH issues(depression n anxiety for both of us)

Afresh double crap.if don't have pain killers get supply's on school run.my prescription for day is drop kids and as little as possible.an all fed no one dead day!!

We lil zoo got up at silly o'clock.let fecking kits in front room(I tend sleep on sofa)I assumed was around 5ish,approaching 530(alarm go off then).lay there be trampled on.mew in face.heat butted.hearing crashing as they wreck place.still no alarm.too tired to move n investigate time.alarm finally went off n back seized.was 630 before moved.bit better once up n moving.aak her what time got up...4am.ffs!;I went loco as she put radio on in her room(I thought was imagining could hear music)she's firmly in doghouse..by other people's standards 5 is early(normal for us) but 4am.erm no.not starting up with thatHmm

DS still dizzy so no school for him
Once got going I seem hit my usual groove

Tada
Breakfasts n pack ups
Littertray
S+s bathroom
Swept love room floor
Swept and wipe kitchen floor
Wash on
Ring D's school to let know won't be in

Now off to take lil zoo in

I must admit I finally start to see improvements in basics,a routine that's getting quicker if you like.i can see once houses are straight how people can keep on top of things tho doubtful will ever be me
Good luck at hospital bower
Have a good day everyone!

Cagliostro · 25/01/2018 08:29

Callmecordelia · 25/01/2018 10:26

Boo, architect says extension not possible. It's good to know, even though it is disappointing. Now we've got to do some thinking. I'd like to take down the conservatory that is no use to anyone. You can sit in it for approximately 5 hours a year when it is a comfortable temperature, we use it to store food at Christmas, but a little bit of sunny patio would be more use.

I'm still ill and in bed, DH is off today fortunately. DD's birthday party tomorrow and I have quite a bit to do.....

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/01/2018 12:49

Hello all, am at work so just going to do some quick hellos while I am in my break.

That’s disappointing Callme. As you say, at least you know. Afresh BrewBrewBrew, is there anyone you can call to give you a hand? I know that is not always the case for people.

Wing flaps to zoo, Bower, Fooland, foxes, Callme, Cag, Whispers, Hills, SC, and everyone else.

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/01/2018 13:19

Another couple BRC removed my room along equivalent couple bags worth of "why are you in here, this is not your room" stuff
Still just a dent in the sea of crapulence(sigh)
I just found lil zoo confirmation and christening dresses(last year and 2 years prior to that) do I keep, get rid,how to store them if keep?!it's this kinda decisions that make getting place straight difficult😢

Afreshcuppateaplease · 25/01/2018 14:00

Spent the morning on the sofa half asleep, luckily ds had a long nap. Topped up pain killers and have started plodding about.

Fancy some comfort food for tea but needs be easy. Any ideas?

Ta da

Washer on
Dryer on
Bins out
Recycling out
Collected all other washing from around house
Tidied table
Scrubbed highchair
Washed pots
Tidied and wiped worktops

foxessocks · 25/01/2018 14:20

afresh macaroni cheese? Fishfingers and chips? Beans and egg on toast?

Ta das
Dd lunch made and dropped off
Eye test
Supermarket
Parcel
Dishwasher on
Rubbish out
Living room tidied
Started on dinner so it can just be bunged in oven later as I'm working later and don't know when dh will be home.

To do
Finish daily routine
Declutter bedroom
Declutter dressing table (this is a big job!)
Make scones for on top of my veggie cobbler
Swish and swipe bathroom

Just having a cuppa here while ds is having his nap. Then going to make the scones as upstairs jobs might wake up ds and I'd rather he slept as long as he needs.

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/01/2018 14:21

Mash.anything with mash(corned beef fom tin works for me)
Pasta mixed cream cheese/grated cheese.both
Tin rice pud
Scrambled eggs, beans and bread n butter

Depends what you fancy really..
I've just had load marmite toast and a banana.ds ate end of it.so far today that's all he's had and last glass banana milk(sigh)
He's lay sofa watching Madagascar documentary now.loves David Attenborough!

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/01/2018 14:22
Subtleconstraints · 25/01/2018 14:31

Good sign that you feel hungry Afresh

baked spuds with grated cheese (or with butter and marmite)
beans on toast
pesto pasta (with optional bacon lardons, peas, broccoli)
Nigella's sweet corn fritters are good, they sound like a faff because you separate eggs and add beaten egg whites to batter (I add bacon lardons too sometimes) but they take minutes if you have a food processor
croque monsieur or croquet madame
scrambled eggs on toast
Spanish tortilla omelette (if you have leftover pots)
toad in the hole
chicken noodle soup or stir fry
sardines on toast (mashed with lemon juice and parsley)
mushroom omelette
Jamie's easy tuna pasta bake

Bowerbird5 · 25/01/2018 17:01

zoo now I fancy corned beef hash😮 I haven't had that for years. I used to make it regularly for the boys. Quick ,easy, yummy.

I used to do a tuna one from very first cookbook.

Can of tuna
Can of Campbell's cream of mushroom condensed soup
Small onion, mashed potato.
Heat soup, mix in finely chopped onion and tuna. Pile mash on top pop in oven to brown top and heat throughly.
Yummy as long as you like tuna
This was another cheap meal. I used to buy up the tuna and soup on special offer so we always had that and corned beef in the cupboard. BF and I used to buy big bags of tatties from the farm and split them so no soggy ones at bottom.
