Chatty month. It continues here from the original thread: here

.

Glad to hear DD three her clothes down and is doing homework SC.

Grin hot arse bottles. Love your typos zoo.

Yes, Afresh and zoo, any felt tips I buy are washable ones (or at least ones that claim to be washable). All kids at DDs’ school are covered in whiteboard marker so I think most parents including myself are resigned to it and just view it as part of the uniform Smile.

Cag, set a timer for 15 mins and do what prep you can. Obviously this depends on Cagletini. If you get even 5 mins done you might enjoy any rest you do get a bit more.

I must start following my own advice! Have fallen off the wagon with before bed routine.

Both DDs now alseep and DH at work so am going to post links then venture downstairs to my ready meal tea. Then need to get on. Have spent all day in exercise gear and done no exercise. Not starting now so going to get into PJs and hope for more motivation in that respect tomorrow!

Ta da
Dishwasher on three times, catching up from batch cooking yesterday.
Three loads of washing
As much washing as possible put away
Masses of clothes sorted
Appointment made with asthma nurse (in March!)
DD got to rainbows.

Now flopping with a baileys coffee.

I have massive art and craft issues. DD didn't get pens for years, until I was sure I could trust her. They are kept well away from DS. However he's reaching further all the time, so the top of the freezer beckons. Good hiding place Zoo.

Well done on tax return Cag, I bet that feels good!

Cagliostro · 30/01/2018 00:31

I’m glad tax return is done. Last year I was in such a state over it and filed it late. Then realised it’s not such a big deal (being a very low earner with no complicated stuff so barely anything to actually fill in) and yet I still procrastinate over it 🤔 maybe this year I’ll do it as soon as the tax year ends...

Stressy you’re so right. I was all ready to post earlier that I still wouldn’t sort anything, but I finally got Cagletini off the boob and rushed round at least gathering dinner stuff etc and I do feel better for that.

ta da conclusion
✅played piano (this was from earlier, I forgot)
✅cleared up dinner detritus
✅chucked some clothes in the vague direction of the washing machine
✅spent a lovely hour with lively wriggly baby who really should’ve been asleep but she was being ever so cute so I didn’t care really
✅managed to stay awake until now, she’s finally dozing off so I’ll be asleep soon

Goodnight folks. Sorry bower I just realised I haven’t PMed you 😳

Bowerbird5 · 30/01/2018 04:17

That's fine take your time. I'm going to be a bit busy today and maybe tomorrow😉😙
I needed to stay much longer that I expected yesterday. I have a car full of stuff to sort. Going to be very busy this morning planning lessons for this afternoon. RE and DT and no one had started the DT which is supposed to be finished next week aargh! I asked them to get that done. Class teacher did some on Friday thankfully. Going to set up four tables to rotate to and must make sure I don't keep them talking to long on carpet. They love discussing and come up with lots of ideas but timing is crucial today. Don't need this stress!

Plan for today
Get up and make nourishing breakfast. Oooh! Might make bacon, pancakes & maple syrup.tea.
Clear sitting room floor to make plan for each table and set out on carpet.
Dig into wonderful neat box of shoes under bed and find as many pairs of sandle type shoes I can find.
Sit down and make 25 packs from photocopies for DT.
Ditto for RE.
Write lesson plan for both lessons. Tempted to just do one lesson all afternoon but not sure I should. Think I will start with RE as comfortable with it and it is about the apostles which we have touched on before. Need to dig out children's bible, might get them to look it up and follow in pairs. Hmm! Have activity😊
At least it is my lovely class and they said they have really missed me. Had lots of hugs, waves when I go past. They are so, so well behaved in there. Best class in school. I don't have to go in this morning unless they ring.
11 going to see kitchen plans.
12:00 Lunch, set up and teach.
3:15pm pack up and hopefully go home or out for afternon tea with some staff. Try to see GP. Late surgery.
7pm. Relax with a large glass of red wine in hand. Make something scrummy for tea or take away!
No housework leave till Wednesday. I did get kitchen cleaned and also
the floor is sparkling clean. It was chicken poo it was bloody hard to get off. If it is wet I kitchen towel straight away but this must have been on her feet or mine from outside. Smeary black. Luckily I have ceramic tiles, it wasn't much just took a bit of persuading. Had to sit down afterwards cos heart racing. Mind you it did in meeting after school yesterday. Wasn't sure why.😳 need to get it checked out today.
🙏 for me today!

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/01/2018 05:37

Callmecordelia · 30/01/2018 05:59

Good morning!

To do
Vacuuming
Dusting
Clean bathrooms
Clean kitchen floor
Washing
Put away washing
Put away last of DD's birthday presents
Buy a birthday present for DD's friend

I am not completely better, but the house has gone downhill so much that I need to get it back on track. Fully expect not to get everything done, but it feels nice and purposeful to post a list.

Bowerbird5 · 30/01/2018 06:04

Thanks I might need it.😏

Mmm cold here too. I can fel it on top half that is out of bedclothes. Didn't get in till 7 pm and DH rang as I was sitting down to pop and ping supper. Quiz at 7:30pm so didn't get time to light fire. I had planned to do it at 2:30 when I expected to be home. Cosy in bed but can feel the chill and I need to get out in a minute for a wee. Haven't been able to sleep since 4am. Think I should get up and do something constructive.

Bowerbird5 · 30/01/2018 06:06

Goodness pace yourself Callme 😉

Afreshcuppateaplease · 30/01/2018 07:53

Wtf kind of witchcraft do you do to make them sleep so late foxes? My youngest two are similar ages to yours and were up at 4.50 am and 6am Hmm

Cagliostro · 30/01/2018 08:54

Morning. Lie in not happening. DH has to leave at 9.30 but I can’t sleep 😡 annoyed as half an hour would be awesome

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/01/2018 09:15

afresh lil zoo has never been a lay in kinda gal that said up at 645-late by her standards..proving she's unwell.drenched in sweat and grey with black bags under her eyes.she is deffo not fit for school....
DS still not eating
Off to Aldi in the car with kids in tow..

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/01/2018 09:30

Morning all. Blimey, you lot are early and organised this morning!

Ta da:-
Morning routine
Rearranged an appointment
Girls at school

To do:-
Person is coming to look at washer today. My only goal for today is to get it looked at and go from there!

Potential to have to stay in all day so am going to also do some laundry putting away and decluttering in boudoir

Sorry to hear of unwell DC zoo. StarStarStar for tax return Cag; I missed that yesterday! More hot lemon and honey Brew for you Afresh. Callme, totally agree about feeling organised with a list Grin. Glad you made asthma appointment. Love seeing detailed lists Bower Smile.

Yes I will get back on the wagon zoo and I actually did do a before bed routine last night. Glad you managed one too Cag. Mornings are definitely better for it.

Lazy morning sounds fab foxes.

Wing flaps to all, am off to declutter and look out of window for washing machine repair person.

Cagliostro · 30/01/2018 09:42

Hope it’s easily fixable stressy

Well I didn’t get back to sleep. It was nice to chill for a little while though. Probably a good thing I do have to get up now as I feel a bit shit if I stay in bed too long (if that’s not a first world problem I don’t know what is!).

DH has put all the shopping away and done the washing up, I just want to put a wash on before breakfast etc. Really need to sort out one wash a day, I can’t believe how quickly it spirals - especially considering that Cagletini isn’t a sicky baby at all, so other than the odd poonami she only has one set of day clothes and one set of jammies each day. And of course they are teeny tiny so why is there so much more laundry?! AND I have a way bigger machine now that we bought just before she arrives. WTF.

Must get up. Immediate plan - wash on, breakfast, maths and spellings while feeding baby. After that, we shall see.

Bowerbird5 · 30/01/2018 10:22

Just had to scrap the kitchen meeting. Stressy I'm very Stressy so ditched it to get things done more leisurely and stop the heart going like the clappers.

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/01/2018 11:05

Take it steady bowers
[Worry emoticon]
We surviveded Aldi
DS flopped on sofa
Lil zoo down 300ml bottle fruity water in one as shopping made her hot and sweaty😞
I am just debating late breakfast(and then later lunch) or early lunch...

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/01/2018 11:16

Sounds sensible Bower. Well done on surviving Aldi zoo.

Washing machine repair man is here. Washing machine now not leaking AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

Cagliostro · 30/01/2018 11:56

ta da so far
✅got up and dressed (often don’t until we have to leave the house... flylady may be onto something)
✅put wash on
✅sorted maths for Caglets but haven’t actually done it with them yet because instead I let them play while I...
✅cleaned out some drawers.

The latter is a work in progress. I’ve been wanting to do this for ages - sort the home ed drawers and shelves in the living room - but kept feeling like they shouldn’t be a priority as there’s so much else to do. But I also read somewhere about the hidden storage needing to be sorted because it’s the stuff that’s out that is being used and there’s probably stuff in the storage that isn’t being accessed or used. It’s true. I have found some stuff to throw away already. Hoping to then organise what’s left into some semblance of order. I have 9 of the shallowest Trofast buckets, plus some over the door shelf thingies that are designed for kitchens. Basically if we find anything home ed related we just shove it in there and it never gets sorted.

So far I have cleaned out the Numicon and the base ten set as I’ll be using them with pupils when I start tutoring again. And they were in an embarrassing state (the resources not the pupils). Also discovered I have four twelfths missing from my fraction circles 🤔

Amazingly Cagletini happily sat in her bouncy chair while I chatted away to her as I got on with tidying. She’s only recently started tolerating it at all.

Caglets just having lunch (I’m very glad they make their own now), I need to eat then put the drying on as it’s spinning now. Then do spellings and maths with Caglets - what a lazy morning they’ve had 😳😳😳 but at least I have got stuff done I suppose. Hungry hungry hungry

Cagliostro · 30/01/2018 13:56

How’s everyone doing?
ta da continued
✅managed to get Cagletini to nap for like half an hour 🙄🙄🙄
✅lunch!
✅DD put dryer on
✅spellings and maths
✅some more sorting of home ed drawers. Took out a load of recycling and am filling a carrier bag with rubbish. Am currently left with a load of random shizz I don’t know what to do with. This is why I took so long to get round to doing this. I hate the uncategorisable stuff.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/01/2018 14:11

The day has improved Smile.

Ta da:-
Did manage to get washing machine to leak and repair man has identified part needed. It will be out of action for a week ConfusedSadWine but we have an appointment for it to be fixed so am very relieved.
Roped in multiple different friends to do our washing, very kind of them.
Met lovely new neighbours.
Asked at pet shop about broken cat flap - need to email manufacturers for advice.

To do:-
Order DD2 birthday present
Email re broken cat flap
Book haircuts for DDs

Totally agree about clearing drawers Cag and also about the random bits that have nowhere to go.

I’ll be at work tomorrow and not on much so just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you for a lovely January thread. I have been a bit bit and miss with my resolutions but am going to try again next month! Thanks to Cotswold for doing Feb thread.
