Morning all. Sounds like a lot of sickness this morning Sad

I need to get up.

I have declared this week my anti procrastination week where I'm going to try and get as much done as possible from my general to do list. We came to the conclusion last night than me and dh do an awful lot of talking but don't Get. Stuff. Done.

Anyway we'll see how it goes! Have to admit not feeling quite so motivated this morning Confused

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/01/2018 08:08

Afreshcuppateaplease · 29/01/2018 09:08

Back from school run. Could do with pointy stick

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 09:10

Gah! Asked DD four times yesterday to bring down her white school shirts for washing (she has none that are clean left). I got the usual "I'll do it later". I reminded her again first thing this morning and said I didn't want to have to go ferreting in her floordrobe and she knows the rules.

So what shall I do folks? Be a softie and go and ferret. Or stand hard and ignore?

Not the worst problem in the world I know but honest to god it is so draining when constant tiny things like this - which could be achieved in three mins - are dragged out. (Don't get me started on the Christmas thank you letter list ...)

Sigh.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 29/01/2018 09:11

Hi all, thanks for all advice about energetic children. I will try all approaches Smile.

SC woo hoo for being in current zone. I am not but the living room is ok whereas bedroom is a mess so going to stay in there.

Afresh and Hills BrewBrewBrew to help with lack of sleep. Soothing hot lemon Brew for you and lil zoo zoo Brew.

Soup maker sounds fab Cag.

Bower, hope your neighbour feels better soon. Don’t get me started on the problems of working for the NHS Confused.

foxes, anti procrastination week sounds very impressive. Yes, these things always seem like a good idea the night before Grin.

SC, I would also ignore for now but as you know I don’t have teenagers so I have no idea really .

Ta da:-
Morning routine
Food shop

To do:-
Home bleugh as didn’t do on Friday
Try to fit in some exercise
Boudoir decluttering

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 11:24

Shirts are staying where they are on floor for now [grrrr]

Harrumph.

foxessocks · 29/01/2018 11:42

stay strong sc!

I have actually done more than usual toostressy so my motivation from last night is still here a little bit...just not quite as much. I have great ideas when I'm lying in bed about to fall asleep!! Also meant to say - it didn't sound stalkerish Grin

DS is sitting up in his highchair doing some colouring (which involves doing a few scribbles and then putting lids on and off of pens...I never would have let dd even use felt tip pens at this age but...meh, at least he's in his highchair I guess!)

Ta da
Hoovered downstairs
mopped downstairs
laundry is on
and anti procrastination - have ordered new chopping boards! (I've started easy!)
Also written down when library books are due back in my calendar.

To do
make lunch for me and ds
Mop upstairs
hoover upstairs
dust
polish mirrors
declutter in living room
hotspots in living room

Bins actually don't need doing as dh did yesterday so that's something.

Cagliostro · 29/01/2018 11:53

Thank you bower will PM you! 💐

SC soup maker is so easy, you put hot water in when you’re done and select the cleaning cycle. Bit of a wipe round if any bits get stuck. Love it.

Just getting up now. Feel really unmotivated today and just crap TBH

ta da so far
✅did a bit more tax return and checked DHs expenses as well
✅DH has booked a plumber for Friday and made contact with landlords
✅transferred some money to savings
✅maths and spellings/sentences
✅emailed dance school
✅downloaded app to product test
✅downloaded and tried spelling app (wasn’t sure whether to keep but I think it’ll be ok now I’ve figured it out)

Ugggggh pointy stick please

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 29/01/2018 12:06

Cag —————————>

Have started home bleugh. I hate it so much!

Cagliostro · 29/01/2018 12:08

FML so I posted the other week about periods, I appear to be having another one, WTAF? That does explain the grumpiness at least.

Callmecordelia · 29/01/2018 12:15

I am doing some sorting out of DD's clothes, and resting in between. Waves to all, I'm still following if not posting as much.

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 12:59

That sounds great Cag thanks for info!

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 13:00

I ruddy well hate housework [fussinrusssinbleughblaaa]

Cagliostro · 29/01/2018 14:10

Fussinrussin 😂 is that meant to sound like Muttley from wacky races?
I am having such a blaaaah sort of day. Actually really tempted to see if I can nap. Taekwondo later.

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 14:17

Blllaaaah day here too Cag - it is so dark and dingy - and I am missing green fields. Although it would help if I got off the Internet. Why do I never learn? I always do terribly badly when I plan an entire day's chore because there is nothing to look forward to ... [snowflake emoticon]

And yes that was a quote from Mutley (thought I was so old, no one would recognise it!) Love the Whacky Races, er, and Stop the Pigeon! Grin

Right, I'm going to have to close the screen.

Poo-bahs.

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 14:18

Sigh. An entire day choring. Or not as it happens.

Cagliostro · 29/01/2018 15:21

I sang Catch the Pigeon at the Caglets the other day and they looked at me like I was mad.

ta da continued
✅decent lunch
✅managed not to kill anyone (PMT)
✅submitted tax return!

foxessocks · 29/01/2018 15:39

well done on tax return cag! Bet that feels good!

Birthday party etiquette help from more experienced parents please - DD invited one particular little boy to her party, he can come which is great. He has now invited her to HIS party the week after but we can't go because we are away that weekend (she is not happy about this!). Anyway - I should still buy this little boy a present shouldn't I? Even if not going to the party, because he is coming to hers and will no doubt bring gift and they did invite us back...? Or will I look weird giving him a gift?

Okay ta das here we go
Researched new glasses (for about an hour - an no real results, seems there are no glasses right for me out there. sob.)
Paid some bills
Text last two parents who haven't RSVP to dd birthday just to make sure invitation made it out of the bag as know what small children can be like (tried not to sound naggy!). Also on this note - I tried to be non-sexist and text the dad of one child instead as I see him more than his wife on the school run, chat to him etc etc and he replied "I'll check with -name of wife- tonight" Hmm I know probably very good reason blah blah but party invitations = wife work and my inner feminist is mildly annoyed by this!!
dusted
hoovered upstairs
mopped upstairs
decluttered bottom toy shelf in living room - loads of toys gone back upstairs
hotspots

to do
polish mirrors
