foxes i wouldnt buy a gift no. Just explain she cannot go and maybe (if you are that way inclined) suggest a play date instead at some point

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/01/2018 17:50

I agree with afresh no gift, explain you're away and offer a playdate if they get on well
Had lovely time with dd1 we end up run few errands whilst lil zoo n ds watch lorax dvd at local shops then we trawl my extensive recipe collection hunting for new easy recipes she can teach her OH to make and healthy snack ideas and things to take for work lunches😊
Dd1 cut dd2 hair before left.a good 10cm easily(bra strap to shoulder) suits heruch better!!sent snap few people in class.all positive ,so she's keen to go school tom n show of her new 'do

I LOVE wacky races and Penelope pitstop with the anthill mob ((sighs and pops on rose tinted glasses of yesteryear))
Dd1 made a veggie lasagne for her tea at school.teacher told her off as I'd half recipe as D's can't eat quorn and lil zoo no dairy and I didn't want waste.you aren't allowed mess with the recipe.ffs.i think she should f off the back far side of f off, then f off a bit moreAngry

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 29/01/2018 17:50

Hello all, foxes, yes DD2 pretty much skipped the crayon and coloured pencil stage as DD1 was so into felt tips and trying to keep her away from them was pointless!

Cag Star for not killing anyone Grin.

Waves to Callme

Sympathies with the housework hate SC.

foxes, I agree with Afresh’s answer. I think it’s generally accepted (at least IME) that you only bring a present if you go to the party (unless it is a close friend of course). They have one party bag less to make up and one child less to cater for if you want to look at it in cold, hard economic terms Grin.

I now have ‘stop the pigeon’ in my head Grin.

Ta da:-
Home bleugh done
One DD’s gymnastics class done and both have eaten their packed tea.
Some homework

To do:-
Possibly fit in some exercise yeah right
Put away laundry

Cagliostro · 29/01/2018 17:53

I agree, I think no presents if you don't attend party especially at such a young age. Different when older so we give presents to close friends regardless now.

I keep getting annoyed at myself lately for not doing enough even though I am doing more than before. I am starting to expect more of myself I think. It's nice to write the lists at least as it shows me I am getting shit done.

Cagliostro · 29/01/2018 17:55

Lorax is an awesome film! I even have the piano music book. Apparently there's going to be a Grinch one this Christmas!!!

HillsBesideTheSea · 29/01/2018 17:55

SC even ds knows about catch the pidgeon and wacky races. He was educated well Wink

Re shirts. Ds has a choice bring it when I am doing the wash or he has to put the wash on himself. He hates and refuses to wear dirty shirts/rewear shirts. So it works here. It has only had to happen a couple of times and whilst i will still occasionally fish laundry out of his room it is because I did not ask him to put out the laundry rather than him refusing. iyswim.

see this:

This says we don't talk about my day because it has been one of those days.

As soon as ds' tea is cooked I am going to bed. I just can't any more today.

Well DD deemed to chuck her clothes down straight after school so I told her thanks and that I'd wash it tonight. Trying to be thankful for small mercies. And to be fair to her, she is cracking on with homework really well currently.

Heartening to hear the wacky races/stop the pigeon love!

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 18:04

Um, think I will draw a line above yours Hills! Similar sort of day here. No excuses.

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 18:04

Deigned not deemed!

HillsBesideTheSea · 29/01/2018 18:16

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 18:24

Didn't oversleep but don't have blood excuse (hope all ok.) Only things I have achieved today is Mnsnetting, e-mailing people, one and a half hour's proper work, 2 loads laundry (still in machine) and bunged roast of pork and veg in oven that didn't get cooked yesterday. No home bleugh. No clearing of hall or sitting room. Wasted day!

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 18:29

I'll take a hot arse bottle thank you Zoo! It's freezing here!

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 18:31

Afreshcuppateaplease · 29/01/2018 18:31

Ouch @ hot arse bottles!

Good news on washing sc

Sorry to hear some have had AWFUL days WineBrewCakeFlowers and a big

Our dd is bloody terrible with felt tip pens. She gets completely covered in it. I dont know why its so bad. For this reason ds3 only gets to use crayon Grin

Subtleconstraints · 29/01/2018 18:38

Very kind of you Afresh but needed to do far more washing (going to get going again after dinner). Cross with myself!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/01/2018 18:45

Is it bad I kept felt pens on top of freezer out the way of little hands ?
I still have "art issues"
Lil zoo got acrylic paint on her bed last month.
DS still not trusted with bloody felt pens
Dd2 only one that's sensible with them.but then they have to be in box,in exact order or meltdowns r us.....

Afreshcuppateaplease · 29/01/2018 19:30

Glad to hear its not just me zoo! I can only tollerate one child at a time resembling a white board i am afraid

Two dc in bed
Two to go

Then ill eat. Watch my soaps and have a potter around tidying. I might even write mt tadas.

foxessocks · 29/01/2018 19:31

Hot arse bottles made me laugh out loud! We'd be lost without your fab typos zoo!

Sorry you've had such rubbish days sc and hills. Onwards and upwards.

cag don't be too hard on yourself!

Thanks everyone for present advice. I won't buy a gift then, I have text his mum and explained we can't go because we are away. If she replies in a chit chat way I may suggest meeting up another time.

Ta das
Have RSVP to invitation
Cooked dinner
Made flapjack
Sorted out all the socks
Cleared out dd pyjama / underwear drawer
Unloaded and loaded dishwasher

Cagliostro · 29/01/2018 19:45

Hot arse bottles is the new best typo 😂😂😂

ta da continued
✅made it to taekwondo
✅filled in forms, paid for DD’s registration etc
✅collected medicine
✅still managed not to kill anyone

DH has been asked to work a few extra hours tomorrow. FFS. I could really really really use a rest and that’s obviously not going to happen now. He needs to phone HMRC as well and not sure he will have time.

Why is it that when I really need to prepare for tomorrow I feel too knackered to do so. Fuck it all. 😡😡😡

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/01/2018 19:48

Tbh afresh I only allowed in Crayola supertips as HATE graffiti kid hands/arms/faces I can't wash off..then primary let them use white fucking board cant scrub it off black pens.ruined clothes and semi dye them black scrawls.drove me to the edge one eye blinks in rapid half crazed fashion
