Order, Order! Do you have a little house of horrors? Welcome to the October Flylady thread where we follow the Flylady method for keeping our houses in order (along with some general chat and support). The monthly focus for October is paper clutter

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first. Join us at any point this month Glitterball

Apologies for mixing foxes and stressy up this morning Blush I was dashing out of the door.

Been out for most of the day, managed to fit a fair bit in though and had a good time. Dashed back to have an early tea with DH because DD is out at a club and DH is going out early, but DH's event has been cancelled! All that rush for no reason.

Will be back later, you're all doing very well ....

Well I finished my to do list and even did a bit of paper decluttering after dinner!

Thanks for the PMs toostressy I read through it all and it was really useful.
I have told dd now and I think it went okay, she was a bit confused and a bit sad but then she changed the subject quite suddenly so we just moved on. I think she will probably bring it up again when she has thought about it some more. She usually takes some time to think and then bombards us with questions but that's fine! I am feeling prepared now!

Yes I think with this sort of thing it'll take a while, she will probably ask random questions out of the blue. At least you have told her now though.

DS didn't want to go to taekwondo today, I thought he would jump at the chance to go out with daddy, as he's not crazy about baby (literally hasn't touched her yet). But I guess he is a bit unsettled anyway and things are improving, he's got closer to her and is giggling at her when she does something funny etc. We are just leaving him to it anyway, no intention of pushing him. He'll get there.

Had a nap this evening, also earlier did a survey thing, and I managed to cook dinner myself - DH was going to as usual but I asked in the interest of doing something normal plus my tomato sauce is way nicer than his and I'm pleased I did that. I think he put some more washing on.

Please forgive what is about to be a list dump. I am struggling to sleep because of bruises, sore muscles and not feeling like I got enough done (because I didn't get things that needed to be done today done). I know I have done plenty but we all know brains play tricks. feel free to ignore the following list!

ta da
4 loads of washing through washer and 3 through dryer
3 back logged tubs of laundry folded (except socks)
All the ironing
clean the kitchen down
load and run dishwasher
move a new chest of drawers to its' new home and take the old one down
collect all of the tip stuff and delegate that job
empty the bins and put rubbish bin out
hoover the lounge and kitchen
move sofa, bookcase, exercise machine and rug
make pie, a variety of flavour jam tarts and bread
Clear up all the baking stuff (incl hiding the maple syrup... Wink Grin teenager and it wasn't screwed down )
cook lunch for tomo
shopping trip
work
Make all the hot water bottles
dust the wood work
rehang pictures

I suspect the issue is too much coffee today making me anxious that and lack of sleeps. Not bothering to sort alarm clock as I actually need to be up at that time tomo. IF i ever fall asleep tonight.

foxes I mentioned earlier that my DD thought nana must still be in hospital - I think I realised this when she asked about her every time she heard an ambulance siren. Funny the things that make them think!

I will pack DD off to school tomorrow morning and start listing myself Hills. Considering we've been out the vast majority of the day I don't know why the lounge looks as bad as it does - I did tidy when they were out on Saturday!

We are in Zone 5 for just Monday and Tuesday this week: the living room

Spend 15 mins decluttering in Zone 5.

cag i never got on breast pumps.hand expressing was only way dp coyld feed zoolets but i felt like a milkmaid milking a cow😂

afresh mine are back at school today.oh.my.goodness shovel and skip at the ready

Lil zoo spent birthday money yesterday as teacher trsining.we are awaiting call new head to arrange school visit.shes(head) anticipating monday as start date for a couple kids so lil zoo was very defeated to hear will have to return to old primary for this week only(but ive learnt pe kit same colour and left it there so we at leaat wont need to buy a new one.just plimsols as they wear those indoor pe.trainers for outside)
Left scoutcat in last night as he is black and fireworks starting go off.had few spats with kits in night(hence i am only just getting up)
Back later wuth (hopefully) big tadas!!

Morning! DD2 woke at 5.30. Think we are turning a corner with the feeding now :) hopefully not too much more expressing required! 🐄

Caglets are awake too, damn clocks. Already in their Halloween outfits.

DH has put the tumble dryer on and DD has sorted the dressing up drawer again.

Long day ahead I think!

Thanks so much for the October thread Cotswold Smile. Big wing flaps to all and glad you are getting on ok Cag. foxes, glad it went ok with DD, sorry for multiple PMs but it’s a busy few days and if I had waited until I had time to write one long coherent one it would never have happened.

I managed to do most of living room yesterday. Only thing was organising shelves with ornaments on but not really an important job. At least DD has a bigger play area, culled some books and board games and rest is in attic to sort another day.

Woke up early to get head start on washing and dishes. Today's plan is the dining room. DD still asleep as she was poorly with a cough so woke a lot overnight.

My broadband wasn't working first thing, took a 20 minute call to Virgin to get it working again Sad. Seems to be fixed now, but I have a sense of doom .... while I was waiting for the laptop to reload to check it was working, techie said they could see it was working because I had 7 devices connected! That includes a mobile phone and two tellyboxes but it does seem a lot!

I'm really on a go slow today...started off well but now I have been sitting on the sofa with the kids watching cbeebies and we were meant to be going to a toddler group but I just can't be bothered. Sigh. My mum has asked me to speak at my grandads funeral and the thought of it has scared me. I am not a good public speaker! No idea what to say either (not that I don't have nice things to say and nice memories etc but how to word them properly I just can't even begin). I really need to forget about it for now and get on with my day!

3rd loads in.2nd in dryer.1st fold n put away(sobs as knows when i tackle zoolets room mountain will appear.feels pity for washer and dryer over next two days)
