Order, Order! Do you have a little house of horrors? Welcome to the October Flylady thread where we follow the Flylady method for keeping our houses in order (along with some general chat and support). The monthly focus for October is paper clutter

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first. Join us at any point this month Glitterball

I'll post the first October links tonight!

Hello all, hope you are doing ok Cag. Am shattered, DH may have to go into work overnight so has (quite rightly) gone to bed. Still need to sort laundry, tidy general stuff for the day, do some admin bits which have to be done today and sew on a swimming badge. Pass the coffee...

Longtime · 26/10/2017 23:19

Congratulations Cag, she is absolutely gorgeous! Hope you’re doing ok 💐

No worthwhile tadas compared to that but I will list them:

Packed
Drove to England
Tidied and vacuumed dd’s room/cleaned her bathroom while she made notes for her art pathway choice
Visited ds1 and his dp
Took dd to dcousin’s to finish and print pathway choice essay
Took ds1, his dp and dd shopping

CotswoldStrife · 26/10/2017 23:46

Evening fledglings - Cag has made it a good day for us!

I've managed to catch up with the washing up again, and I'm still sorting out outgrown clothes to pass on to others. DD usually has a growth spurt during the late Spring and Summer but this year's has been ridiculous and she has outgrown a lot of stuff! I need to sort, discard and then buy her some new stuff because we are hunting round for things to wear ATM Blush

Also got a few decision deadlines coming up so need to factor them in over the weekend.

Going to restock the naughty corner, post the links and get an earlier night's sleep than I have been getting! Sweet dreams all.

Morning everyone! Hope you are both doing well cag

Yesterday was insanely busy, we left the house at 9.30 and got home after 7pm after visiting various friends and then going to a dinner time soft play party. Joy of joys! I got home and just collapsed so no flying done apart from the dishwasher on and dh hung the washing up.

Hopefully today will be less hectic!

Handygarrottes · 27/10/2017 09:34

Good morning all! I am feeling a bit ropey this morning. (Gynae "ishews".) Waiting to hear from hosp, need further examination and might have to have op brought forward (which would wreak havoc with Christmas plans). Oh well.

I don't know why because I was fairly on top of it at the beginning of the week but house is a total pit again - dh seems to have emptied out his cases in multiple locations throughout the house - and kitchen floor is shocking! Going to tackle that first I think.

Handygarrottes · 27/10/2017 09:36

Oops - pressed send too soon!

Wing flaps to everyone else and hope you and Cagletini/Rowan are having a lovely snuggle Cag and that you are getting as much rest as humanly poss in circs xxx

Cagliostro · 27/10/2017 09:47

Thank you all ❤️💐
We got home yesterday evening - amazed to be back so soon as they had said I'd have to stay in at least 24hrs as per the policy for gestational diabetes, but she was feeding well and passed her blood sugar checks so all good!

Induction was horrendous TBH, so much more knackered from that than the birth itself. Feeling quite wobbly but ok considering really.

Handygarrottes · 27/10/2017 10:53

Wow Cag that is amazing that you are home already!! Much nicer to be in familiar surroundings although do take it very, very steady! Bet the Caglets are thrilled!! Smile It sounds as though you went through rather an ordeal so do take it very gently! And if you don't mind me saying - anyway you know this better than me - watch out for infamous day 3 as it can be tough on one's mh (I went a bit loopy frankly and felt very very flat - recovered fairly quickly thereafter (think it is wierd hormone thing) - but remember it like it was yesterday and was rather shocked by it at the time )!! Hope not the same for you but do take things very, very gently especially as your nights will be so interrupted xxxxxxxx [flower] Bear Flowers Enjoy your lovely family and congratulations again!!

Ta da:
animals
emptied dw
swept and washed kitchen floor as it was driving me nuts!
thought about tonight's supper ... although that hasn't translated in to any action atm!
folded and put away a load of clean laundry (although noticing most drawers need a proper clear out)
sorted hosp. appt
started ... slowly ... on boudoir ....

Cagliostro · 27/10/2017 11:07

Yes day 3 is hell for me also so I think tomorrow (as evening baby) I will have to be careful! Thanks With the other two I was still in hospital at that point and it was just horrendous on top of the hormone changes. So I am very relieved that I can be snuggled up and not having the extra anxiety caused by being in a busy noisy room full of other mums and babies (I had actually put some money aside to pay for a private room this time if I needed - would be totally worth it). And being able to use my own bath etc.

She is still asleep now, she's definitely suffering with trapped wind bless her (so much for breastfed babies not having this issue Hmm) so last night was errrrm difficult!

Handygarrottes · 27/10/2017 13:31

I would feel exactly the same Cag about busy hospital environment v quiet and privacy of home!! And yy to one's own bathroom!!

Poor thing re: trapped wind! Hope that is short-lived! And sleep when you can xxx

Have just had v nice peaceful lunch with dh which was lovely save for the fact that he was struggling to stay awake (getting up time in S.USA) but if he can push through now he should be half human for the weekend poor bloke.

Have a good one everybody!

NotQuitePerfect · 27/10/2017 13:46

CotswoldStrife · 27/10/2017 23:21

Wow, home with your family all together - how lovely Cag There is not much sleep to be had with a newborn but hospitals certainly do not help.

Flying-wise, laundry was dried outside today and the washing-up status quo has been maintained after tea. That's the highlight, really.

Sorry you are not feeling great Handy/SC, waves to foxes and notquiteperfect. Links next.

Good morning fledglings! Had our usual large weekend breakfast here so I have more washing up to do and could probably run the dishwasher full of plates already Halloween Grin

Today I am planning on enforcing order on the front room (lounge/diner, we only have one room!) and doing some ironing. May make some headway on DD's room too, we are still in the midst of a large clothing declutter and need to declutter some of my own too.

Think I will make a list of cupboards and drawers to be worked on over the next few weeks before Christmas.

Hope you are having lots of lovely snuggles, Cag Star

Cagliostro · 28/10/2017 10:59

Aw thank you notquite and lovely to meet a lurker!

So I'm all alone with the little one, DH has taken the Caglets to Tesco for a top up shop. Including lots of yummy things I hadn't been allowed to eat while pregnant like pate :o

Got a load of clean laundry to sort through as it all built up while DH and I were at the hospital. Will see if she actually lets me put her down though I don't want to anyway because she is too snuggly

Handygarrottes · 28/10/2017 11:11

Waves to Cotswold!

Start of the holidays! Yay! But we are a bit of a sorry lot this morning - all a bit shattered - and we're having a v v slow start. Furry seems to sense we are not quite ourselves and is visiting each of us in turn and licking our faces in sympathetic fashion while we all just flop! He is behaving like a concerned mother hen Grin

Must rouse myself and do quick supermarket run and run wms. And I am totally with you on the pre-Christmas drawer clearing Cotswold! All of a sudden, they all seem to be in need of a good clean and clear out.

Have a good weekend one and all!

Handygarrottes · 28/10/2017 11:16

X post Cag! Oh how lovely to be on your own just you and the baby, however briefly xx.

Wing flaps to everyone else!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 28/10/2017 17:00
