Who's up for a summer holiday house sort out?

As usual my house needs a good declutter and clean Grin

I am a childminder by day and so will be out and about a fair bit but can also fit in some house chores whilst they are nicely amused and encourage them to help me with things like sorting the playrooms out.

The summer holidays and starting the new school year off with a fresh start seems like a good idea.

Would anyone like to join me?

Got rid of three bags of clothes today, after getting rid of the shingles I've now come down with a cold.

Going upstairs now to tidy mine and dhs room.

My food and baking cupboard - bloody flour weevil so lost loads and will only be replenishing as required. Also listed with expiry dates on wanderlist so I can check while shopping!

I've been busy in the kitchen today. I've cleaned and sorted another 3 cupboards, getting rid of some stuff that went out of date in 2010 Blush, that was when we moved into this house. This is why I need a major declutter, because I don't do it regularly and it builds up.

I also did another tip run, a full car load again. That was 7 black sacks of rubbish, plus some huge cardboard boxes from flat packed furniture that I built in February and the boxes have just been hidden in the shed

Huge pile of ironing

Adding for today:
2 x kitchen cupboards
Living room cupboard

Didn't manage to get as much done as I'd hoped yesterday as I had to go shopping. I'm refusing to rush though - it's my summer holidays 😁🌞

Sorted through all the units in ds's room today. Kept most of it but filled one black bag and a few things for charity but more to the point it's organised and he can actually see what he's got now.

A realistic kitchen cleaning task this weekend
Missed out on lots of steps last week so will be trying to catch up today
Plus getting the family to each put 7 of their own items in the outbox

It's all a bit slow here the last week with long work days
And I never found the summer holidays so hard before

I'm off next week so you won't be hearing from me

But I expect you know where to find the next steps of the JC

I may well continue to post when I get back

I haven't really done anything the past couple of days. We did a big day out on Thursday, then on Friday we spent most of the day at the park, so no decluttering happened. I am managing to keep the kitchen clean, which shows progress for me, normally I spend ages cleaning and sorting a room then within a week it has gone back to its previous appalling state.

Today I shall be cleaning the oven! Wish me luck, I can't remember the last time it was cleaned.
I'll also clean out the fridge and possibly defrost the freezer.

Hello all, we are back from holiday. Plan for today is to try to catch up on unpacking, holiday laundry etc. Hoping to get back into decluttering tomorrow although aiming to get rid of a few bits as we unpack.

Hello to you all! Been a bit awol but have been decluttering still.

This morning we (me and the dc, DH is at work) have gutted upstairs. Due to working downstairs all week, upstairs is very much left to fester. It was horrible. However all beds have been changed, very good tidy, all laundry brought downstairs, rubbish down and bins emptied, hoovered and dusted. Windows opened and it looks lovely again.

Will try to keep it that way but It is very cluttered with stuff we need so it's all a bit difficult.

How are you all doing?

Hope you had a nice holiday toostressy.

Haven't done anything today - have been at park with kids all day.

I really want to sort the kitchen but it's such a huge job! I need a decent chunk of time to devote to it.

Also REALLY need to clean the oven - it's disgusting. Used bicarb and vinegar last time and tbh pretty sure I made it worse.

I cleaned the oven today. Dh was amazed! It hasn't been cleaned in about a year. It isn't sparkling, yet, but it's significantly better than it was. I'll probably try it again in a few more days to get the grease off the inside of the door.

It took so long to clean the oven that I didn't quite get round to cleaning the fridge or defrosting the freezer. They may or may not get done tomorrow.

I'm going in circles 😲 kids are making more mess that I can keep up with let alone de-clutter.
I will not give up though.

Same here notinyournelly! Have spent all day on laundry - doing it, sorting it, keeping it but meanwhile mess has just multiplied everywhere. Sigh.

I managed to clean three wardrobes today bagging up small and unworn clothes 😀
I fixed my freezer and can now put the drawers in it.
And I've a little box sorting system going on when I clean an area/box/drawer/shelf it get put into an appropriate box if it doesn't have a home yet.
Still a long way to go.
How is everyone else getting on?

Oh God - I got the kids to drag out the storage boxes from under their bed (my knee is buggered so I can't bend or kneel to do it). Bloody disgusting: dust, old crisp packets, abandoned socks....

Have been really busy out of the house last few days so haven't done much.

Managed to clean the chalk pen off the playroom Windows though and sort through the other half of dd's wardrobe. Had planned on spending the day sorting out whilst kids played in garden with neighbours kids but the neighbours have had the sheer audacity to go out thus meaning I have to referee / occupy my children/
