Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

Morning folks. No flying yesterday - super stressful day as I had my first ever PIP assessment. So that was crap and depressing (although could've been a lot worse, from what I've heard). Spent some nice time after with my parents (who watched the Caglets for us) and was just so very tired after.

Problem is I've left so many errands until after the assessment (which was looming for a few weeks) and now I have loads to do in a very short time (before I go away with the Caglets the week after next) and now I'm mega stressed about all that too!

DD has brownie camp tomorrow so we have bits to get for that, I have tax stuff to sort, I have pupils again having had a few weeks off for Easter, just aaaaaaargh

mumontherun14 · 27/04/2017 09:29

Aww Cagliostro sounds hectic. This term is always busy with camps and stuff at school.

Managed a semi organised morning and got everyone out of the door on time so my DS wasn't late which was good. Heading to work now and just realised I've left my bank card in my other jacket last night.. honestly I can never actually get out the door without forgetting something. DD was coughing away still and felt a bit bad sending her in but she is a bit better and I also feel I've had 3 days off work this week and can't take more time off. She is doing an opera show today and normally I'd go and watch but can't get more time off so my dad going to go...feeling a bit bad about that too but it's so hard to get to all the school stuff when u are working and DD quite happy her grandad going. Have a good day everyone xxx

Sweepingchange · 27/04/2017 13:26

Hi all

Cotswold/Zoo arf at moving not loving Grin

Zoo sympathies, it is so awful when you have to push them out of the door like that when they are unwell. She will thank you when she is an adult (or that's what I tell my dd anyway!! Wink). Really glad to hear that your tests came back negative; although I am sure dealing with allergies is no picnic. (Sorry to hear you have succumbed too Cotswold horrible when breathing affected.)

Mumontheroad hope your dd feels better as the day goes on and good luck to her for tonight!

So sorry to hear that your PIP assessment was so depressing Cag Sad and that you have so much on. Tiny small steps and all of that x

Bluepheasant good to hear routines working for you. Keeping laundry under control is my version of keeping my sink shiny ie if I'm behind with washing, everything else seems to go belly up!

Wow at your list Mermaids Star

Big waves to everyone else!

I ran out of steam last night and only did two out of four of my power of three lists!

Cracking on today but slow start as still recovering from yesterday's teen invasion. They didn't leave until 6.20pm after a lot of shrieking and (thankfully) having eaten us out of house and home (was worried that they would be rather suspicious of "cusine Anglaise" Smile. They were all really lovely and polite though! As dd normally only has girl visitors, it's funny how at 14 yrs, the boys look so much smaller and less mature than the girls. However, one of the lads on leaving turned around and said in perfect English "thank you so much for your very kind hospitality" which I thought was rather impressive!

Had better crack on ... mouse still behaving erratically ...!

Hope everyone is having a productive day (well as far as humanly poss anyway)!

Sweepingchange · 27/04/2017 13:30

PS Zoo hope you get gp appt soon!! Angry on your behalf

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/04/2017 13:50

I'd be impressed a teen lad whose first lang said thatGrin

Dining table cleared ready for cleaning
Kitchen bin emptied and cleaned
One brc under dining sorted...
Go have lunch now...

Sweepingchange · 27/04/2017 18:05

Apparently he's a black belt in karate or judo or something too Zoo! Smile

Finding Flying tough going today. Tis like wading through treacle!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/04/2017 19:04

Hello all, just jumping back in here Smile. Have read back the thread but have missed bits I'm sure so Brew and Cake for all who would benefit!

Training week going ok, not sure exactly when I will fit any extra shifts in yet but will be worth getting this all done long term so I can have some more flexible work.

Must get on now and investigate the laundry. DH has ironed Smile.

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/04/2017 20:06

Well I gave up in the end.I have been really really tired and irritable all day
Now have very bad period pain and fed up. I want a biscuit(I've gone 24days no chocolate or sweeties, but working on cake/biscuits which are in addition to food whereas choc/sweets eaten in huge quantities instead of food)and we haven't git anyAngrySad
Ds has a lion bar roaring at me,but I must resist or by tomorrow I be eat bodyweight in sweets again and not real foodSad

CotswoldStrife · 27/04/2017 23:07

What a shame it was moving zoo, I thought it was a stealth boast.

I have done little today, but have eaten a lot. I may hit the gin shortly as I am stressed about tomorrow (nothing madly important, just a bit nervous) and have certainly not been at my best today. Always tomorrow though!

Will do the links before the gin, otherwise things could go very badly indeed ...

Good morning all! Up at crack of sparrows today. Hope everyone ok!

Finished second two power of three lists yesterday plus did more washing and attended (thankfully shortish) church meeting. Fairly organised for long weekend now if you ignore 1st floor which still looks worse than a bomb site (am hoping rabbit sitters won't wander upstairs Confused). Might have to lie say that we have motion sensors up there to avoid embarrassment of them seeing hideous bedrooms! Grin

Ta da this morning:
animals
td overnight washing
fed wms again
tidied up sitting/dining room inc dining room table hot spots
emptied dw
filled dw
wiped down kitchen
(last four items on list should have been done by others while I was out at meeting but it wasn't Hmm)
second load on to dry
30 min meeting with headmistress about dd subject choices

All before 10am (continental time)!

Rest of day: meeting at commune administration re: carte d'identité and potential dual passport!

Pack clothes/pack food.

Wash school uniforms the minute dd gets back from school. Hang up to dry. Depart.

Sweepingchange · 28/04/2017 09:10

Waves to Cag!

[SC here again]

New May thread here

Feel free to join in from the 1st of the month!

(Just getting in set up a bit ahead of time in case Internet connection problematic in wreck2.)

CotswoldStrife · 28/04/2017 14:28

Thanks SC, it was luckily - we are starting to look at schools for Sept 2018! We live in an area with selective grammar schools so went to look at one this morning. Lovely as it was, I don't think it's in the running for my DD (or indeed, that my DD is in the running for it as requires a pass at eleven plus!) but even though I knew that the grammars in this area drew from a very wide geographical range, it was a shock to hear just how many different primary schools are involved!

No flying yet, may only may catch up this evening. Will put some wine in the fridge for later though!

foxessocks · 28/04/2017 16:41

zoo shopping is useful though so it counts! Sorry your dd is poorly , my ds is too he has a high temperature and is either sleeping or whinging at the moment. It's exhausting for all of us!

Ta das
Daily routine done

Haven't got very far. Feeling totally worn out by miserable baby. Think he is teething too. Dh has taken both children to the park now so I've got about 20 minutes before I need to start dinner. I have decided I'm going to do nothing except read my book and have a cup of tea. Brew for everyone!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 28/04/2017 19:50

Hello all, thanks for Brew foxes. Will be able to offer some leftover Wine and some kind of M&S dessert that DH bought to the naughty corner later Grin. Just got to get DDs to bed first.

Well the training week is done, we actually have one more short day next week but the bulk of it is finished. All a bit vague how I will get paid for it Hmm so will have to chase that in the future if nothing happens.

Tomorrow won't be a flying day really as DDs have a dance show so we will be busy all day. Hoping to do quick tidy up tonight and file my course notes in front of the telly. Big wing flaps to all.

Cotswold, good luck with school decisions Brew

Slurrycart · 28/04/2017 19:54

Yes, shopping definitely counts Zoo! Sorry about the gp appt, I am Shock and [anger] on your behalf. Hope you and dd2 get a better night's sleep tonight!

Welcome back Foxes so sorry to hear your ds is suffering too! Good idea to relax a bit while you can (sounds as if you are going to be in for a rough night, poor you Flowers).

Brew and Cake for you both

Waves to everyone else!

Achieved a good list today including 8 loads of laundry washed and dried, and appt at commune went well (dual residency looking potentially ok fingers crossed) so feeling fairly chipper and much reassured. Added bonus is that my fortnightly (but in reality more like two monthly) ironing lady put in an unexpected appearance too - yay - so feel very organised with piles of lovely clean and orderly bed linen. A shame the state of the boudoir doesn't match that of the bed clothes Blush

School uniform, swim kit, gym kit and riding kit have also been washed and hung up to dry overnight. Folded towels. Washed underwear and socks.

Also gave bathroom good going over.

Then during packing process, spent 40 mins looking for lap top Blush , 30 mins looking for paperwork Blush and 20 mins looking for a brand new pot of face cream Blush so from that you can tell how organised our first floor isn't is Blush Blush

Wrapped presents and wrote cards for Sunday visitors.

Assembled everything for departure in outer hall. Only problem is, having been up since 5.00 am, dh and I are too tired to go anywhere tonight (old crocks that we are) so leaving tomorrow instead!

Hope everyone has a lovely May bank holiday weekend! Will catch up with you all on Sunday if not before! G'night all!

Slurrycart · 28/04/2017 19:57

x post Toostressy "Break a leg" to your dd tomorrow! DD has given up dance for now, but I remember the stresses and strains of show day very well indeed (and that's just the parents!!). Hope it all goes well though and that your dd has a fab time!

Very organised of you to do filing on Friday night and ruddy well hope you do get paid!!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 28/04/2017 20:03
