Ease towards Easter with the Fledglings and the Flylady April thread!

Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

Sweepingchange · 25/04/2017 19:27

Mumontherun - Cotswold will post links for tomorrow tonight - look on Flylady website under Flight plan for today's tasks or scroll down thread! Best not to subscribe to e-mails else you will be inundated! Hope your dd feels better soon (and yr dog!)

mumontherun14 · 25/04/2017 19:36

Aww thank you! They are both on the mend. That was why I cancelled the emails there were so many!! I'll have a look thanks! Xxx

Sweepingchange · 25/04/2017 20:00

No worries mumontherun glad patients are recovering!

Switched to tablet as keyboard on main computer gone funny. It happened while I was editing a doc though,so I am sure I have pressed something I shouldn't have! Why would backspace not work? Why typing speed funny? Why can't type letter twice in quick succession! Argh!

CotswoldStrife · 25/04/2017 20:00

Which app did you get mumontherun, I didn't think we could get one here

OP posts:
mumontherun14 · 25/04/2017 20:03

I just typed fly lady into the App Store. It's called Fly lady plus and gives you a checklist of tasks??? Xxx

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/04/2017 20:16

Welcome mumontherun Smile. Hello all, I am still here but out of the house all day each week. Going to do lots of laundry organising tonight and have to organise all the papers from my training - there are lots! Luckily the training is not hard, there is just a lot of it and a lot of paperwork! Have only skim read thread but if people need help for May thread I can do it or help do it. Will try to get back on later tonight.

CotswoldStrife · 25/04/2017 22:07

Evening all - actually did a bit of ironing here today but apart from that, mainly ate food Blush

Have arranged to go out again tomorrow morning but will have a few hours to eat lunch before collecting DD so a chance to work a bit then.

I am getting some boring admin jobs done as well, which is helping to plan the next few weeks.

mumontherun we don't recommend the emails because they can be a bit daunting in number although there is a Flylady lite which is better. I'll post the links now, the first one has a lot of the info on one page.

Good afternoon everyone, thread killer here Grin

I knew I didn't have much time this morning, but even that didn't stick to the planned choreography unfortunately! Still, managed to answer all phone calls/texts/deliver missing items to school and still fit cake into the morning

Now home, had a quick lunch and have an hour and a quarter to make a visible difference to the house. It can be done

OP posts:
mumontherun14 · 26/04/2017 13:56

I've started with good intentions (hopefully it wont fall by the wayside when I am back at work tommorow).

Had laid all our clothes out last night which made for an easier morning. And it did make a difference coming down to a nice shiny sink. Did the morning routine, took DS to dentist, then the dog to the vet (recovering well from her neutering).

Did a 15 mins tidy up in the living room and now sitting waiting on man coming to measure for new blinds. Won't have much time later taking son to football training as DH away but will try and do the evening routine when I get back. Washed the PE kit for tommorow which is one thing I always forget!!

Still need to work on the procastinating and getting distracted.....

Hope you are all having a good day x

Sounds like a Flying start (no pun intended) Mumontherun!

Good luck with your purge Cotswold!

Spent this morning doing mahoosive clear out of downstairs. It was looking ok-ish but one gets far too used to random boxes of crapola and extraneous things lying about. Anyway, took everything out that didn't belong in sitting/dining room specifically (now all dumped in pit that is boudoir, adding to the chaos there). Brought down ancient spinning secretaire thing of late mil's from roof and stuffed all "floating" books in to it. Changed sofa covers. Chopped down some blossom branches in garden and stuffed in vase. Cleaned downstairs lav and sink. Went to supermarket. Cooked pasta/made salad.
Cleaned kitchen (which is still far too cluttery). Laid tables for dd's study group.

Now hiding in my office. There is a lot of giddy shrieking and laughter coming from downstairs, not sure how much work is getting done ... .

Need to get on. Should be using this time to sort out the utter dump/pigsty/shambles that is the first floor but feel a bit weary now.

Going to start with power of three ... wish me luck ... and pls aim a pointy stick in my direction if you happen to have one nearby!

To do:
FIRST THREE
find two cards
wrap two parcels
pick everything up off boudoir floor

SECOND THREE
triage laundry
wash sheets and duvets for wreck2
15 mins x 2 boudoir

THIRD THREE
sign and post letter
dd try on on-line clothes
15 mins x 2 home office

FOURTH THREE
td washing
empty dw
tidy up downstairs and prep supper

Hope everyone else getting on ok.

Sweepingchange · 26/04/2017 14:21

xpost Zoo nowt wrong with afternoon nap! Especially when you are consistently up at crack of sparrows. Go on ... treat yourself ... !

mumontherun14 · 26/04/2017 14:28

Aww Stilllivinginazoo - hope your DD2 feels better soon. There's so much going round. I ended up taking my DD to the out of hours GP at the weeked for her cough as I couldn't get an appt - could you do that one evening?

Sweepingchange - you've done loads! It's never ending at times! Study group sounds fun.

xxxx

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/04/2017 14:35

---> one pointy stuck for scas requested, but feelCakeand Brew would be kinder with house fill kids!!
mum they think its allergy's nap parent oy tip back nose/sinus red inflamed too at last check. Trying antihistamines and nasal sprays.not class urgent by gp. She's also a lousy patient who whines endlessly over everything no matter how minor(as day goes on her throat is going from dark pink to red in her defence)
I gave her ready brek at breakfast and have a souper green Covent garden soup on standby if she's not up to lumpy food at teatime.we just have dig deep with the patience, add lots cuddles and praise was push out door to school and a good supply soothers/boiled sweets to try keep throat moistSad

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/04/2017 14:36

Its allergy apparently.yes my phones got interfering itis again changing as I post.grrr

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/04/2017 14:37

PS liking the power of three idea sc

Sweepingchange · 26/04/2017 15:18

Thanks for (kindly!) motivation Zoo . I think I need it- went down three flights to get old Amazon box for parcel - forgot what I was down there for - starting sorting washing - put wreck2 duvets and pillow cases in to wash - came back upstairs with apple and not the box! Duh!

Will descend again in a mo - but just wanted to say sorry for wittering on about Vit D Zoo I totally forgot your dd's throat issues were caused by allergies - I hope gp can help your dd soon poor thing (when you can get an appt) it must be so draining for her.

Did you get yr ecg/scan results back btw? Was your breathlessness ever resolved? I hope you are feeling better too.

Mumontherun there is a lot going around atm (think it is the wierd weather) hope your dd fully recovered now.

Had better get on. Besides which, keyboard still a bit funny. Backspace now working but mouse out of control when scrolling. Hope we don't have a virus!

On y va!

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/04/2017 17:44

BluePheasant · 26/04/2017 21:23

Hello SmileBrew

Work day today so not huge amounts achieved. Laundry staying under control, daily wash is definitely helping with this so am sticking to it. Feels a bit wasteful when machine isn't always a full load but I'm sure I can't be running it that much more and it's by far preferable to letting it stack up like to used to!

Glad results were ok zoo good news Smile

Sounds like great start mumontherun I have to admit I rarely do the daily missions but am finding sticking to little routines and daily habits is really helping stay on top of things.

Great list mermaids Star

I like your power of three thing sc good idea, although I would almost definitely get sidetracked as well Grin

Right just need to do before bed routine and I'm done for the day!

CotswoldStrife · 27/04/2017 00:09

I did read the thread again earlier, but had to step away before I said something I'd regret about zoo's asthma - I think you meant moving there - but also it could be pollen related, I had that tight feeling the other day and I was inside a shopping mall - no hills or heavy bags even for me.

Will post links next. Hope everyone gets a decent amount of sleep tonight!
