Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

zoo I am trying to use your list as inspiration! Ds is asleep in the garden, dh is doing the decking and dd is "helping" him (by finding snails and removing them from danger) so I am alone inside the house. Going to try and get through my list while I have this time and not sit here time wasting on the internet / reading my book / eating chocolate that DD doesn't realise is actually hers Blush

foxessocks · 24/04/2017 13:46

Already failed at the first hurdle as we only have one throw so can't put a new one on until my next trip to IKEA. Which was going to be today but we can't face it now!

Hello all, well DH has had a good day and achieved loads Angry. He is much more natural organised than me (maybe even born organised Grin) so I fear he will find having both girls all week really easy. Is only day 1 I guess and at least that had a good day. Will see what day two brings! Might get back on here in a bit with lists.

Afreshstartplease · 24/04/2017 19:47

OMG I have so much to do Shock

Wibu to just go bed?

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 24/04/2017 19:50

Are you back to work tomorrow Afresh? Flowers

Afreshstartplease · 24/04/2017 20:39

Yes

Had planned to be organized but it's not bloody happened

Baby fighting bed time which helps not

BluePheasant · 24/04/2017 20:42

YANBU afresh Grin hope work goes ok tomorrow!

Picnic sounds lovely Cag

zoo that list is insane, you must be v good at not procrastinating!

Well I'm pleased to report that getting ready this morning was a lot better, didn't really do much different except let DD have a bit more say in what she was wearing to nursery. Problem is it has to be within reason as I refuse to let her go wearing some of her nicer things that will just get trashed. But I'm going to try and give her more options each day and see if that calms things down! Also I think being a bit less rushed helped a lot Smile

Ta das

Half day at work
Daily routines done
Cleaned kitchen
1 load washing
Bit of decorating as that has come to massive stand still, it will still be unfinished by Christmas at this rate!
Bag of clothes for charity, was going to eBay them but can't be bothered, just want them gone!
DDs outgrown stuff put in storage
Online food shop
Meal plan

To do

Order summer shoes for DD
Finish passport forms
Clothes for tomorrow

mermaidsandunicorns · 24/04/2017 22:41

CotswoldStrife · 25/04/2017 00:26

You've all achieved more than me - been out with DD most of the day (she is back to school tomorrow though), cooked the tea/cleaned up and done a teeny bit of ironing.

Now going to post the links, clean my face and contemplate the ever-growing to-do list for tomorrow!

Amazing list yday zoo, very jealous!

Glad your day outcwas good cag .
And you're right this is NOT a greatvway to be... It's the opposite of impressive. My day off work on Sunday ended with a very sore lower back/pelvis being on my feet all day (27 weeks pg now) painting then batch cooking but it's important to me I get proper balanced nourishment whilst pg & without having some bits pre prepped and a proper menu plan we'd end up on frequent take out... Not good for health or pocket.
Yesterday did basic daily routines (s&s, laundry rotation, made lunch and dinner, dishes and shiny sink / kitchen sides maintained), went to pregnancy yoga class, and did 10 hours of brain thirsty work at my desk... Today will be about the same with aquanatal class inserted instead of pg yoga.
My problem is I've taken on more work than I can finish working normal full-time before my intended wind down date at 36 weeks... Good in a way as the contrats are good and will likely lead to more work in future (a big many branched history to go in 4 book volumes and on a chart to be presented at a big swanky posh wedding breakfast and a good National Trust research contract on top of all our usual stuff). So that's pretty awesome, we enjoy the work and we could def use the money with baby on the way. But it means we actually have to DO the work... And I'm pregnant and tired and close to tears sometimes.
Promises I made myself were:

  • no work-work on Sundays
  • maintain basic routines
  • eat 3 nourishing meals a day plus healthy snacks / stay hydrated
  • keep up with 3 x pg exercise classes a week (2 of these end with relaxation and I'd just still be at my desk otherwise)
  • carve out some time at lunch twice a week for 'mummy-to-be' stuff like reading, browsing etc.
Need to keep up this pace this week and next then will reassess... Pray for me!! Confused
