Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

bit at a loss tbh
waves of sc

I know there are others.my phone hates meHmm

Afreshstartplease · 31/03/2017 07:01

My kitchen / living room got left in an average state last night. There are a few tea pots, washing waiting to be washed, kettle pile over flowing in the kitchen. In the living room there are a few toys left out and it could do with a hoover and surfaces wiped.

DC 2,3 + 4 all up by 630. DC1 still in bed. Other three now all fed. And I am about to make second cup of tea!

Zoo your poor DC seem to go from one illness to another! It must be draining. Mine are quite a healthy bunch TBH! I can't remember last time one of them off school sick. Regards your ds and weight would you be able to get a note maybe excusing him from the classes? Could school give him the work to look at at home as a compromise

foxessocks · 31/03/2017 07:30

zoo could your DS do 2 days so half of it and be let off the other half with a note from the GP? He might end up enjoying and want to carry on? But I agree you don't want him getting stressed and upset over it.

I'm just having a coffee in bed, ds is up and playing with some toys (he only got up once in the night last night so I'm very pleased!). DD is still asleep. She got up once too because she had a bad dream so she is probably tired. I'll have to wake her for nursery soon though.

I'm just contemplating what to do this morning while dd is at nursery. There is a new baby/toddler group on at my local church which I want to go and support and meet people but it's at a really awkward time! It's 9 till 10 so I'd miss the first 20 minutes while I take dd to nursery and then ds usually has a nap from 9.30 till 10.15 ish so he might end up being really grumpy anyway. Decisions decisions...

Right to do list -

Dust living room furniture and polish the mirror
Daily routine
Ironing
Meal plan
Food shop ONLINE!!!
Declutter bag purse and car (I never get round to the car!)

Think that'll do for now!

Stilllivinginazoo · 31/03/2017 08:02

foxes, maybe see how you feel and give playgroup a go. Equally if it all seems too much hassle there is always another time Smile. Sitting on fence, sorry.

zoo, I will have a think for ideas re DS sats prep. Agree with others maybe speak to school first and see what they suggest then go from there.

Ta da:-
School run
Tea planned for DH and I for tonight
Bag of rags to charity shop
Picked up parcel

To do (have a couple of hours child free):-
Exercise DVD
Find library books
Hang out laundry
If time make a start on home bleugh

Pick up DD2 then wait to watch DD1's end of term performance. Really hope DD2 is ok sitting watching it Confused.

I'll do some kind of end of month round up later Smile.

Just realised the playgroup is almost over now foxes. Sorry, bit late on that one!

danigrace · 31/03/2017 10:15

Zoo you know your littles best. If you think it will do him good and he can still go to the party then great, but likewise if you think he will prepare better at home and be less stressed just tell the school he's doing prep at home which I believe is best for him but thank you for the offer goodbye! Lol.

Did you go to your group foxes?

Well I broke the golden rule of not leaving dishes in the sink last night (zoomed to antenatal pilates after dinner then ended up working from as soon as I got home til gone midnight...) so first on the list is to fix that.

To do:

  • get a proper breakfast (or should I say brinch at this time...)
  • dishes
  • shine kitchen
  • 15 minute declutter
  • get through mountain of work preferably pre midnight!
  • make dinner

Not putting anything else on myself today, if I achieve the above I'll be happy!

foxessocks · 31/03/2017 10:29

I went to the group! Ds enjoyed it, I got a cup of tea and a chat. He did get tired towards the end and grumpy but it's practically opposite my house so quick to get home and get him down for a nap before we have to pick dd back up! And it turns out the group is 9.15 - 10.15 so I only missed five minutes. Glad I went!

Haven't done anything off my list though...

danigrace · 31/03/2017 10:32

That's great foxes! Glad you enjoyed it. And you have all day for your list, such times are precious for you and your ds and your sanity so never feel bad for it!

Cagliostro · 31/03/2017 15:43

Well done foxes sounds like that group is a winner!

Zoo I am admittedly biased but that would seriously piss me off. The letter said voluntary so why are they on at your DS about it? Also... it's SATS! Not for his benefit but the school's. Grr.

Not that my ranting really helps you sorry Blush.

Achieved nothing today, think I have labyrinthitis again Hmm so feel extra dizzy and extra sick! DH is getting ready for his run and I'm dreading it, horrendous timing. Have to take DD to dancing tomorrow and her dance exam (quickstep!) on Sunday. Can't really manage in the kitchen and stuff. So feeling rather pathetic and sad.

foxessocks · 31/03/2017 16:22

cag sorry to hear you're struggling Flowers make sure you do look after yourself

Ta das
Daily routine done
Dishwasher on again
Been to the library
Meal plan
Online food shop

Hmm got rather a lot left on my list but feeling a bit sleepy! Got to start dinner soon and as dh is home I'm feeling the urge to pop to the shops on my own and get snacks for this evening Blush

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 31/03/2017 18:56

Hello all, Cag Flowers.

Just wanted to do a general thread round up to say thank you for all you lovely people for being on the thread. I'll post links later tonight. In March, we have officially been working on getting dressed to shoes, or at least getting dressed of shoes are not your thing in the house.

SC, thanks for doing some links for me and Cotswold, thanks for doing the April thread.

Aww I love this thread for its friendliness xx
Some of the threads you see can turn into wasps nests very quickly but this one is always so lovely

foxessocks · 31/03/2017 21:04

Thank you toostressy for a fab March thread!

foxessocks · 31/03/2017 21:04

And thank you everyone for the lovely chat and the kind words when I've needed them. Much more than a housework thread x

CotswoldStrife · 31/03/2017 21:33

Stressy, thanks for a Fabulous February and Marvellous March - fantastic thread skillz! And you've even done tomorrow Grin

I'll start the new thread shortly once I've stolen the first post from someone and post a link to it here. I am not planning any April Fools tomorrow, so if anything looks wrong it really is wrong - let me know, it's not a joke!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 31/03/2017 21:40

Ha, Cotswold, tbh I spent a few minutes trying to figure out whether I was meant to do tomorrow or whether that was meant to be the next thread person Grin. Then I realised it would be much quicker to just do it than to keep trying to figure it out!

OP posts:
CotswoldStrife · 31/03/2017 23:30

I was so tempted to copy your posting, but thought I'd better make an effort at least at the start Grin Thank you so much for Feb and March!

New thread is taking shape, feel free to join in tomorrow.
