Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

foxessocks · 29/03/2017 20:09

Sorry dani it's honestly great most of the time!!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 29/03/2017 20:10

Dani Grin. foxes, we have all been there Flowers. When I hardly ever got child free time I often used to feel so much pressure to make the most of it that I would do nothing. If your DH is saying you should just say you want a break then maybe this will encourage him to understand you need one (maybe...).

Not long back from work, very tired and DD2 not keen on going to sleep. Have had enough of the day. On the plus side DH said she did a massive poo but that was with a lot of screaming. No wonder I have a headache. Oh well, a glass of Wine awaits.

Bare minimum tonight as am exhausted (difficult work day).

Some days are very very trying!!

Cagliostro · 29/03/2017 20:43

See I think of parenting as what Monica says to Rachel, I think it's the very first Friends episode, about the real world - "it sucks - you're gonna love it" 😀

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 29/03/2017 20:52

Cag, that is absolutely brilliant.

Sweepingchange · 29/03/2017 21:20

Good evening!

So sorry everyone has had such stressful days Flowers Here's to better times tomorrow [hands around nips of Gin]

Foxes as others have said, you are human, shouting happens, constant sleepless nights and crying are wearing in the extreme. Do NOT feel guilty Flowers And never apologise for venting on here; this thread is about much more than choring!

Zoo so very sorry to hear Lilzoo unwell; you have had such a stressful time with illness of late. It's been a very bad winter
/spring for illness all round I think; one of the boys in dd's class is in hospital atm with coughing virus. Btw, you should be on Masterchef with that menu!

Toostressy hope dd2 lets you get some shut eye tonight! Good news about poo though Grin despite screaming.

Cag hope you don't have too long to wait!!

Waves to everyone else!

[Dani pls look away Smile ] Pig of a day. DD survived her morning at school in the end so that was a good decision and we praised her for seeing it through. Afternoon was ok but unfortunately, she then got extremely stroppy and rude tonight which has resulted in confiscation of both Ipod and laptop. I despair I really do ... [deflated emotion]

I managed to get through most of my list but my heart wasn't in most of it.
To do v (late start):
animals DONE
dog walk 1& 2 & 3 (dh working v late) DONE
feed wms again DONE and tdried
fill dw DONE and emptied
meal planning/list writing NOPE
supermarket shop DONE
sort pile for wreck2 DONE
hair cut? NOPE
on-line shopping returnsDONE but not posted
sort calendar dates NOPE

Seriously Dani I find child-rearing (although I only have one so not really speaking with much authority here) is wonderful and terrible all at the same time and the most terrible bits can often be the most wonderful if that makes any sense at all!! It will be great, honestly Smile

Links coming up!

Sweepingchange · 29/03/2017 21:23

Hi, on behalf of Toostressy, links for Thursday as follows:

[And apologies – I did something wrong last night and have just discovered the last two links didn't' work – hopefully will work tonight.]

***

Here is the daily summary for Thursday also available on the flight plan which should update automatically each day.

The daily focus for Thursday is: running errands.

Reminders here which should also update automatically!

Baby-step no 30 - here! Look on calendar for next month and see if card or present req'd, put on shopping list if so.

We are in Zone 5 this week until the end of the month: the living room.

Spend 15 mins (or whatever you can manage) decluttering in Zone 5.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 5 is here.

Thursday's mission is: here tackle skirting boards in sitting room.

March habit is getting dressed to shoes here.

Flykids mission: here.

Keep going everyone!

mermaidsandunicorns · 29/03/2017 22:28

Oh skirting boards Confused this is one of my least favourite jobs

CotswoldStrife · 29/03/2017 22:32

Cag what fabulous news, congratulations! And yay for the priority band too - I hope something suitable and lovely comes up ASAP!

foxes I yelled too this morning. DH is off work today and I was dashing around trying to get DD ready and myself (I was going out too) and wishing he would just take her to school for once. As we grabbed the many bags he got his coat and shoes on. Apparently he was planning to come with us and walk home afterwards. Cue screeching Cotswold 'can't you just take her' and them both exiting the house at speed, leaving me to eat breakfast and have half an hour to myself!

I'm running the April thread, but if you need me to start earlier let me know! Awesome March thread by Stressy, I've got a lot to live up to! I don't know about keeping going SC I need to just start! I have managed to tidy one room a bit although it is not finished and trying to keep up with the washing up too.

Cagliostro · 29/03/2017 22:35

Thanks Cotswold! It's been a crazy few days with all this news :o

DH is now off for a week. Hooray! Frankly I could do with him around now even more than usual. But he's spending 2 of those days at the leisure centre doing an event. In which he runs round a track for 24 hours. Weirdo. :o

danigrace · 30/03/2017 00:04

Haha thanks for the reassurance ladies. Hope you all manage a good night's sleep xx

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/03/2017 05:18

cag 24 hours Running event?ShockI assume its In chunks, notvhim running continuously unless he supercag
I couldn't run 24 minutes if life depended on it (or 2.4 mins.maybe 24 sec at a push)Grin
I have been up since 420 with lil zoo(yawns)....

Afreshstartplease · 30/03/2017 06:46

Foxes! I so feel your pain. Dp is out 6am to 5pm five or six days a week. I have dd (3) and ds (5months) all day every day. Also have older two (7+9) before and after school.
Some days are so fucking hard. If it's any consolation to you I do loose my shit less often now than I did when had first two DC. Now I just scream inside my head and eat chocolate Grin

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/03/2017 06:57

afresh your coping mechanisms are how I rollGrin

Afreshstartplease · 30/03/2017 07:13
