Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

I'm turning up for dinner tomorrow night ok? Wink That risotto sounds delicious!

Afreshstartplease · 29/03/2017 10:44

Glad it's not just me then cag!
I must confess we are also a household of shitty sugary cereal eaters

Cagliostro · 29/03/2017 10:50

Yup we are total cereal addicts! I like porridge too with seeds, chopped nuts and a modest amount of golden syrup which probably counteracts any goodness in it. But it's mostly cereal.

---> pointy stick for those who need it.

I'm super happy this morning as we've had notification from the council that they have accepted the medical form and evidence (referrals, doctor's letter) and they have moved us up to Band A on the housing priority list. So we actually have a chance of being moved to more appropriate accommodation. YAY!

Sweepingchange · 29/03/2017 10:56

Cag that is great news about your housing priority! I know you were v worried about it! Fingers crossed for new place soon xxx

Afreshstart Nowt wrong with a bacon butty.

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/03/2017 10:58

afresh, cag,sc the more the merrier to feed...
It all start with dd1.that girls a walking allergy with epic pens, and back then everything had not suitable nut allergy sufferers on it, just in case....I learn make cakes m biscuits(I do a very nice lemon n nutmeg digestiveGrin)
When rest zoo arrived I start get interested in nutrition bit more.ds failed thrive and its ongoing try get some weight on that boy.dd2 went veggie almost 5yr back, start give up meat for lent after realising her Ham sarny was made if her beloved pigs!!(her one true love is pigs) then lil zoo join party 2year back as milk was off menu fir her...
They were all shit sleepers ,waking EV 2hours til 9months and not thru night til 12-18 month, but generally ate most things so started experimenting as given choice they'd happily live on cereal n toast with fruit at every meal!!(as long as loads of it)
afresh I am up at 5 everyday,so eggs in the morning isn't an issue when breakfast it at 645 and they're old enough not kill each other whilst I prepping whatever they eating (still don't deep fry.mine have a second sense for any kind frying that ww3 will break out n I leave it to referee n burn it)

I am a born feeder(maybe dinner lady I'm previous life?!Grin)
I've nothing against "shitty cereals" everyday.they're fortified with vits and iron so its not a crime against humanity some Mners would have you believe (I lurk thread about healthy breakkies and the anti carb brigade were stating more nutrition in box than eat cereal wtf?!)

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/03/2017 11:01

cag syrup won't cancel out the goodness unless you have it by the jar fullGrinporridge oats full b vitamins and nuts n seeds rich antioxidants, vit e and dep on type iron/zinc.
Nowt wrong bacon butty either.I like to cook, but am not a food Nazi
GrinWink

Sorry I haven't completely caught up with the thread yet will read it all in a minute. I've just totally lost my shit with dh in front of the children and I'm not even sure why Sad now they've gone out and I'm all alone in the house does probably only the second time in 7 months and instead of enjoying it I'm completely miserable. Feel so guilty.

Anyway sorry just wanted to get that off my chest. Going to read the thread now to cheer me up!

foxessocks · 29/03/2017 17:05

Good news cag!

Zoo your meal plan is fab I think I'll pinch a few ideas Smile. Breakfast here is usually weetabix and not even with any fruit! Used to be porridge but dd has gone off it at the moment.

foxessocks · 29/03/2017 17:21

Ok I hope nobody minds me going on but I want to get this off my chest. Dh was going out to see a family member and he said he'd take dd and then come back for dinner. I suggested he take ds. He didn't seem keen. I said is he not ok to take both kids out (he hasn't really done this as I'm still breastfeeding but ds is on solids now and more able to go longer between feeds). Dh got defensive thinking I was implying he couldn't take care of both children. He was just worried the baby would cry. I was annoyed because I have both of them every day all day and sometimes one or both of them cry and sometimes at very awkward moments and it's sometimes bloody difficult. Dh said that's different because I don't have anybody to help when he is at work but I can have the baby now so he doesn't have to take both of them. I said yes but I want some PEACE and to get dinner on without a whingey baby. He said I should have just said that I wanted peace and quiet and not use cooking dinner as a reason. At that point I just got frustrated and shouted a lot which was totally uncalled for. I'm just worn out and I wanted dh to just say "you probably need a break, let me take the kids and we'll see you for dinner in an hour". Anyway. He did take them both but dd was upset because of the shouting and I feel really guilty now. Especially as I had just told dd off for shouting and having a tantrum Sad

I know this isn't AIBU or chat but that's too scary, and anyway I know I was unreasonable. But please tell me so have I haven't scarred my children for life with all the shouting!

And also this has really reminded me that the fly lady taking time for yourself is important. I just never do it because I think I'm fine.

mermaidsandunicorns · 29/03/2017 17:42

FlowersFlowers foxes

It can be so hard sometimes and they don't see that you are with these little people everysinglefrickingminute my second ds was still is a toucher so constantly had to be touching me. It turned me into hating being touched by anyone.

Not much done today as caught up with dp today and then had parents evening
Both boys doing really well so happy with that

Quick tea and baths then bed

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/03/2017 17:44

YANBU
Wanting peace isn't a crime
Your kids won't be scarred or hate you.grown ups shout at each other sometimes.it's not something you intend start do on frequent basis so take a deep breath, have a Brew and try n calm down.if you arw very lucky he may take on board sometimes isn't a luxury its s bloody necessity!!

foxessocks · 29/03/2017 17:47

Thanks mermaids I'm just cross with myself now. For arguing in the first place especially in front of the children like that and also for now wasting the rare child free time I have! So far all I've just peeled a load of potatoes. Humph.
