Fledglings flapping and flying in February - the Flylady thread

Hello all and welcome to the February Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others Smile.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks so much for doing the December and January threads Cotsowold.

We are in zone 5 for the first few days of the month.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

I can't figure out how to post the individual missions (I will get better, I hope!) so as a treat here is the sneak peak for the rest of the week which has all the missions www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions

Feb 1st's mission is to clean our vents!!

If you have already decluttered then you could start some detailed cleaning www.flylady.net/d/zones/detailed-cleaning-zone-5/

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread Smile. Sometimes the Flylady website takes a little while to catch up on a new month.

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link [[http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

I'll post the baby step and Wednesday's daily focus next.

Cag, I have no advice on the dust sorry! We do use polish but only once a week when DH does home bleugh. If you start a thread in here you might get some ideas if nobody else has any. Enjoy your time to yourself though - how precious!

Hope nobody minds but I've recommended our Flylady thread on another thread about housework - no takers yet but you never know Smile.

cag just Google's how reduce dust on hard surfaces.liquid fabric softener apparently!Confused
Either couple drops neat or dilute 4part water to one softener (let us know if it works!!)

foxessocks · 28/02/2017 14:27

I use furniture polish for dusting but only do it weekly ish and don't have too many surfaces so smell not too powerful. Don't know how to prevent it though!

To do
Finish daily routine
Declutter in living room
Ironing
Possibly exercise dvd later

Cagliostro · 28/02/2017 17:54

Thanks for the dust advice. Now you mention the fabric conditioner that rings a bell! I will start a new thread too, good idea.

I really do need to start being more houseproud. I'm getting more and more pupils which is awesome - a real boost to my self esteem as well as financially - but it means a bit of a revolving door effect on the house.

Caglets loved the aquarium so I'm going to get them to write a review/advert for it later as they can use it in a project they're doing :o

I kind of lost momentum with the tidying (other than laundry, that's going great guns today) as the pupils who were meant to be coming today as a last minute thing actually couldn't! But I'm glad I did a bit earlier. I'll carry on in a minute. Slowly.

My afternoon was lovely, finished my kindle book over lunch (Delusions of Gender - fascinating) and wandered into a few charity shops. :)

foxessocks · 28/02/2017 18:37

cag that sounds like bliss! My mum has said she'll have DD one afternoon this week so I'll probably take ds shopping and I'm hoping he'll sleep and I can have a coffee and cake in peace!

We are just about to have pancakes. I didn't get much more done other than the daily routine today as we had haircuts that we totally forgot about and had to rush out of the house for. And just now my dd spilt ketchup and mayonnaise on our carpet Shock so I'm really feeling like pancakes then bed and then collapse! I'll see if I do manage to get anything else done.
