Furble - the cordless vac is a Dyson and the mop is Vileda, you fill it's handle with liquid and it has a trigger that sprays as you mop, the head is microfibre and clips off for washing. No bucket required so it takes up very little room and is easy to use. Doesn't get right into corners but great for a quick once over.

I've been getting quite a bit of detailed cleaning done this last week or two as well, I must say this is all desperately overdue, I have been slacking for such a long time, the whole house could do with a deep clean if I'm honest.

Cagliostro · 24/09/2016 01:57

No flying today, I stuck a wash on in the morning and panic tidied a bit but that was it. DH ran two sports classes which went well. Then some friends came to ours to have some tuition from me.

Getting a cold though so rather pissed off.

foxessocks · 24/09/2016 11:29

Morning all! Well I never got round to decluttering the car etc yesterday as my friends stayed ages and then I cooked dinner and by the time the house was tidied up and dinner finished I was exhausted.

Had a terrible nights sleep with baby ds last night. He is being so grizzly at the moment. Not sure if it's wind or what really but he doesn't want to sleep at all! I tried having a nap this morning but didn't sleep for long. Anyway I've had a strong coffee now and need to get moving as I'm getting grumoy myself now.

Caglio hope your cold doesn't end up coming to anything. Sign of the season changing everyone seems to be getting colds around here too!

Right. I probably won't do much today but anything do will be an achievement i guess , I'll report back!

Dd is having her family fun with her grandad today as they're off on a train journey together followed by lunch. So at least me and dh only have the one child to look after today!

Babblehag · 24/09/2016 16:47

I got the kids to lift their fingers today!! They have reasonably tidied the downstairs of the house, I hoovered the stairs and dp did the kitchen, which must have took a fair bit of effort on his part, as he's got a tummy bug. So were in a reasonably tidy house ready for tomorrow. I've done the shopping too. Which means I can spend the evening prettying up my bujo.

pontificationcentral · 24/09/2016 16:57

Busy week here, so will be spending my Saturday playing catch-up, and not at family fun (boo). I am kidnapping dh for the cinema tonight though, for Bridget Jones. It looks suitably atrocious, and we did see the first one together so it's a must do. He's had a crappy week too - is fairly certain that his company is going under, but nothing to be done except wait and see, so we are ignoring it with our fingers crossed.

To do:
Laundry
Ironing
Dishwasher unload/ reload from breakfast
Clear kitchen surfaces
Wipe kitchen surfaces
Vacuum main floor
Declutter book shelf in living room
Grocery shopping
Batch cook x 2. Hmmm meatballs and fish cakes I think...
Book vet appointment for dogs (old age check ups. I probably need one too!)
Get dd2 to move her birthday presents from living room
Cinema for date night!

I also have a 'chat' pending with ds1. Let's just say I logged on to the school records system to check his grades. The kid aces every piece of class work at 90% but never does homework, so his grades are sitting at 45%. I have yet to decide whether to declutter his x-box. These are actually grades that matter here in terms of university entrance, for both acceptance to courses, but also funding. He knows I know. He knows it's coming. I'm letting him sweat.

Links for Sunday 25th September: Here is the Flight Plan which will update daily and give you an overall summary.

Here is the Launch Pad with all the basic information and links to relevant areas of the site.

Baby step number twenty five: read FlyLady’s personal testimonial

The focus for Sundays is to Renew your spirit

We have technically finished zone work now, but if you want to continue, stay in Zone 4, The Master Bedroom aka, The Boudoir. Spend 15 minutes decluttering here. If you have finished decluttering here is the detailed cleaning list

No missions as it is the weekend.

Our habit of the month is establishing a Before Bed Routine This is actually a really good habit to develop, as many of us can vouch for.

And a little bonus feature for this month: FlyLady's back to school tips

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 24/09/2016 22:40

I've just read today's posts, I'm so sorry Zoo, what a shock. Please don't worry about hijacking the thread, it may be based on housework but it's very much also about companionship and support.

fromwesttoeast · 25/09/2016 08:45

Sorry Zoo Flowers

I still haven't made flying progress beyond the basics I already do. Every day I have good intentions but I'm really snowed under with work and all day I'm rushing from one deadline to the next, be it the deadline of work or meal preparation or bedtime.
Reading this thread and another similar one I have noticed a theme coming up, where posters are saying they can't manage much on days they work. This puts it in perspective for me a little. I work about 12 hours a week outside the home, but the rest is from home so it ends up with working 7 days a week. In tne hours I'm not working I'm doing things for the kids or doing the basics of washing up, laundry and meal preparation. This is why I'm finding it hard to squeeze in tne 15 minutes of decluttering!
Anyway, all I can do is keep on trying. This thread helps to motivate me to keep trying at least, even if I can't achieve much.
Keep up the good work ladies!
Alright, back to the ironing...

celeste83 · 25/09/2016 08:57

Have a nice quite family day Zoo leave the funeral stuff until next week I'm sure dp will appreaciate the family being around in this sad time. I think we all use this thread as a houseworking/general support thread. Everyone here is so friendly and supportive.

We got sil and her rabble around later this morning so need to give the place a once over. Its a lovely blue sky Autumn morning here after the heavy rain last night so wouldn't be surprised if i clean the house and then everyone decides to go for a walk anyway. But we've decided to convene here anyway.

foxessocks · 25/09/2016 09:00

fromwest I'm on maternity leave and find it hard enough to do the routine cleaning , I hace only managed to fit in the actual fly lady tasks a few times since being on the thread ! But I am finding the lists and the chat with other friendly people really helpful...it just makes something routine and tedious more fun! Don't be too hard on yourself because I don't think I'd be able to do what you do (when I was working it was only from home and only part time hours).

I haven't got out of bed yet, dh got up with the baby at 7 and let me sleep in and has just brought me a coffee and the baby to feed. Ds has fallen asleep on me so might pop him in his cot and go back to sleep! Can hear dh playing shops with dd downstairs...he probably wants rescuing but I'll leave him to it Grin

We have visitors later this morning so will do a quick whizz round but hopefully dh has done a bit too so won't be too tricky. I like the idea of renewing my spirit so think a hot bath later on might be a good idea since the weather is miserable.

Have a nice Sunday everyone

8FencingWire · 25/09/2016 09:30

zoo, I'm sorry for your family's loss. Wishing you strenght.

About to whizz the house into shape once DD&co finish breakfast.

Furble · 25/09/2016 09:47

Didn't want to read and run Flowers zoo sounds like you are being a fantastic support to your poor DH and family.

No flying for me this weekend, have been feeling v rough, really hoping it's the first signs of labour. Back tomorrow.

Salutarychoring · 25/09/2016 09:48

Just logging in and saw your post Zoo

Sending prayers and condolences to your family Flowers

I am so sorry for your loss.

Take care of yourself x

celeste83 · 25/09/2016 09:49

Busy sorting out upstairs only to come downstairs and find ds has dragged his trainset out all over the lounge floor whilst dh is totally oblivious to this whilst reading the sunday papers. Snappy Mummy has now ordered dh to have the kitchen sorted whilst i have a quick play on the trainset with ds before trainset gets packed away Grin

ta das

stripped beds
bedding in the washing machine
linen pile made upstairs ready for next wash
wiped bathroom & domestos down loo

Salutarychoring · 25/09/2016 09:54

Just for info - will be off line for a while - so won't be on this thread for a few days. (Will be back in time to set up Oct thread though.)

We've had another incident with dd and contravention of Internet rules (a fairly serious one) and as she has had all her electronic devices removed, I thought it would be hypocritical if I didn't come off-line for a few days as well.

Have a good week everyone (well as good as possible in the circumstances for you Zoo Flowers) and "see" you in a few days.

celeste83 · 25/09/2016 10:50

Ta das

stripped beds
bedding in the washing machine
linen pile made upstairs ready for next wash
wiped bathroom & domestos down loo
toilet duck'd downstairs loo
cleared away train set and tidied lounge

Thats the chores done for today bar a bit more laundry and making the beds but that can wait till later. sil should be here at 11 but think we are now going for a pub lunch Smile have a nice Sunday everyone.

8FencingWire · 25/09/2016 17:46

I'm making dinner, I'll send DD to strip the beds, if you hear any huffing it's her!
