Thanks for leading us through September Grey. There are some parts of this month that I am glad to wave goodbye to (car issues and the dishwasher broke!) and forge into October with SC at the helm.

Its going to be a busy day in the babble household. Well actually not in the house, as soon as the kids go dp will be sleeping and I'm of to breakfast with my friends who I've not seen for soooo long. Then I must visit my nan or she will hit me. Get some shopping in, and take ds1 for a haircut. He'll then go to his fathers, I'll have the weekly debate with the other two as to why they cant go to roller disco. And my other friend will be popping round for tea no doubt.

Foxes I absolutely feel like I just scratch the surface. Last night as I was getting ready for bed I cleaned the bathroom sink and window sill. This morning I cleaned the kitchen sink. But it feels like a drop in tne ocean of mess. It will all be dirty again before I make progress with anything more meaningful. If anything the clean and tidy corner just highlights how bad the rest of it is. Maybe I'm feeling too glass half empty just now.

Links for Friday 30th September: Here is the Flight Plan which will update daily and give you an overall summary.

Here is the Launch Pad with all the basic information and links to relevant areas of the site.

Baby step number 30: check your calendar for next month for birthdays etc. If you need to buy cards/gifts, note this down for your next ‘errand day’

The focus for Fridays is to declutter your purse, handbag and car day

We are on our last day in Zone 5, The Living Room. Spend 15 minutes decluttering here. If you have finished decluttering here is the detailed cleaning list

The next mission is to put something pretty in your freshly decluttered living room < drags out and dusts off an old Picasso masterpiece >

Our habit of the month is establishing a Before Bed Routine This is actually a really good habit to develop, as many of us can vouch for.

And a little bonus feature for this month: FlyLady's back to school tips

Right then, its been a pleasure leading you all through September. Its great to see so many newbies and I really hope you stick around.

SC has said she will guide us through October - for the newbies, usually what happens is the next thread leader sets up the next month's thread and posts a link to it on the bottom of the current thread. As soon as that link appears, we all trot off to the next thread.

So then, "class dismissed!" < Grey drops the mic, flounces off to naughty corner >

Hi all,

Ta das:-
Printed off lots of bits for my course
DC in bed
New job admin (whose idea was this new job anyway?!)
Tea in oven (rubbish microwave meal but still)

To do:-
15 mins on never ending preschool report
5 mins work on my course
Possibly 5 mins decluttering

Empty bags etc from today
Before bed routine

To do tomorrow (more likely to do it if it's on here!):-
go for short run

Afternoon. I have been slack this week with logging into MN. I do from time to time veer off MN for a few days Hmm Anyway thought i would post a batch of ta das before the new monthly thread pops along.

ta das

made beds
washed dishes
cleaned bathroom (cleaned bath, basin, loo, mirror, window, door handle, emptied bin, new towels, cleaned window, mopped floor)
cleaned downstairs loo (cleaned basin, loo, mirror, window, door handle, emptied bin, new towels, mopped floor)
general tidy up

Not much else to report really in our household. Been quite a non-eventful week. Oh we did get a hamster last weekend so he is getting quite a lot of attention from ds this week. Hamsters are lazy. He leaves his little house for 20 minutes max then wonders back to sleep in his house for another few hours. Must be nocturnal despite ds attempts to coax him out He did seem to manage to knock off the ladder to his house last night which is suspended in the air at the top of the cage. No idea how he climbed back into the house or if he was just sitting in the house waiting for his ladder to be put back in the morning.

Afternoon All,

The weather's on the turn in London today, I got absolutely drenched doing my eranding this morning (DH cleverly left me the car but not the keys) and have been decidedly less productive since getting back, will kick myself into gear after this.

Ta-das
DH packed lunch
Dishwasher unload and load
One load washing done and hung
Washing up done and away
Sink shined
Library book returned
Small top up shop
15 min declutter of one of the flat surfaces in the living room
All bins and recycling out before bin men arrived
Bed made
Wrapped gift "from the baby" for DSS

To-do
Prep dinner
Swish and swipe
Attack another drawer in the living room
Finish remaining flat surfaces in living room

Foxes Sorry to hear about the washing machine, hope it's rectified very, very quickly and the kids start to feel a lot better soon.
Grey Honestly, I don't feel all that productive! I'm sure it's nesting and these lists will get a lot shorter once the baby decides to make an appearance!

Wishing all a sunny Thursday afternoon!

Morning all! I really feel at the moment like however much stuff I do I'm only ever scratching the surface...anyone else feel like that? I get the main stuff done but the house really needs a deep clean at the moment and I never seem to get the time!

Anyway ta das
Dishwasher unloaded loaded
Some washing up
Hung laundry up but can't do more as dh needs to look at washing machine again!
Tidied living room
Bought some rubbish and glasses downstairs

To dos
Post letters and buy bread - my errands outside the house!
Fly lady living room got a bit more decluttering to do of dds toys in the living room. Not going to do the hoovering as dh does that very well anyway so will try and do the clear out under the sofa and behind the cushions as I didn't do it the other day.
Try and deep clean some stuff!!

foxessocks · 28/09/2016 23:56

Well we thought the washing machine was fixed but then it broke again! Confused but in the meantime we did get one more load washed!

And I was right about the colds well dd definitely has one anyway. Bless her she can't sleep properly because her nose is so blocked up Sad which means I now have a baby up every few hours and a toddler up every few hours! Dh has been helping too but he has to get up for work at 5am so I'm trying not to disturb him too much. Tomorrow we're going to stay indoors all day and watch TV I think (apart from a very quick trip to the shop for a few supplies)

Oh and I did sort my post out I've just got to actually go to the postbox with them now! Hopefully I can at least do that tomorrow.

Stash and dash, I knew there was a term for it!

Yes I've done a little bit of my compositions but like with the writing a book and stuff it just languishes in the "should really make more effort" pile. I have finally got my (home ed) blog going though so that's something I registered a year ago

A very busy day at work today, but I got in (2h late), fed the menagerie, put the load to dry, emptied the dishwasher, washed some bits by hand, tidied the living/kitchen, about to colapse into bed.

Tomorrow I'll do the missions, including the 1h home bleurgh :)

Evening everyone

Zoo Good Lord! < clutches pearls > your MIL must have had some stories to tell... I agree though, your DH could have done without that skeleton falling out of the cupboard. Rant away, this is a good place to off load, lots of us do and it is a supportive thread.

Furble - you are super productive (nesting maybe? Or are you always so productive?!)

Badger just remember what the Fat Fairy says about 'progress, not perfection'. Honestly, give it another month and you will look back and see how much more together all you s*^t is!

Foxes you have my sympathies re babies with colds, its rotten for everyone, especially when they are trying to feed with a bunged up nose

Cag are you still composing your own piano pieces? I remember you talking about it yonks ago. Glad you are seeing a difference with the reduced amount to stash and dash.

Shannara - I had no idea you'd been a Fledgling for so long! My DS wasn't even a twinkle in his Daddy's eye in 2007!

Ta Da
Took DS to nursery
Fed cats
x2 loads of washing done and hung up to dry
Dry laundry folded and put away
Unloaded and reloaded dishwasher
Made beds x2
Anti-procrastination task - descaled the iron, kettle, coffee machine, shower heads x2
Food shop done and put away
Vague meal plan worked out
Read more Freud
Collected DS
Fed cats
DS's bedtime routine
Cooked dinner

Excercise done so I am giving myself Star
10 mins decluttering done
Birthday card posted
5 mins new job admin

Some great anti procrastination going on, well done! Star

Not for me though! Quick panic tidy this morning before my first pupil, although I did notice there wasn't nearly so much stashing of random crap in bags. More stuff has a proper home so it's definitely improving. Anyway I taught for 2 hours and now need to tidy up the maths stuff as I have someone for piano tonight. And I'll put another wash on. Then need to get DD from Brownies, via the shops for a few bits, then get a taxi back to be in time for piano pupil.

Hi, I'm still here! I'm checking the summary every day but not managing to read through the whole thread or post what I've been up to.

Realising how much work it is even just trying to keep on top of things let alone getting everywhere decluttered and sparkling clean. Just the morning routine stuff seems to take forever by the time I've factored in the school run. I'm trying to be disciplined and keep on top of dishwasher/laundry/wiping surfaces in the kitchen, plus spending 15 minutes in the weekly zone each day.

I think my main problem is laziness! And relatively low standards.

Report
foxessocks · 28/09/2016 14:38

Celeste not sure if it's fixable yet dh is going to look at it as soon as he can but might not be until the weekend. He's an engineer so he should be able to fix it?! Unless it's totally had it in which case we'll have to get a new one which would be annoying.

We've just got in from a morning shopping. Dd has gone down for a nap and ds is very grumpy for some reason. I have a feeling both children are getting colds Sad they sound a bit bunged up to me. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Ta das
Dishwasher loaded unloaded
Last washing that we managed to do hung up!
Rang the gp !
Sorted out some bits and pieces I needed to do at the shops

To do
Sort out dinner
Tidy living room up
Fly lady stuff living room
Put laundry away
Ironing
Send off child benefit form
Post a birthday card
Tidy up upstairs
Bathroom needs a clean

Argh seems like loads to do today
Oh well I'll see how far I get! I think I forgot how time consuming tiny babies are!!

Hope everyone is having a good day

Afternoon All,
Middle of the week already, the time is flying.
Have had a relatively productive day so far.

Ta-das
Made packed lunch for Dh
Dishwasher loaded and unloaded
One load washing done and hung
Two loads washing away
Kitchen sides, floor and sink
Made Bed and 10 mins whip round in bedroom
Big laundry sort
Called Inland revenue (procrastination task)
Wrote birth plan (again with the procrastination)
30 mins sort/declutter of drawers in living room.

It's amazing the amount of space that is slowly appearing with all of this gradual decluttering, it feels really really good.

To-do
Cook dinner
Return library book
Swish and swipe
Push Hoover round
All recycling out ready for bin men

Grey so kind of you to pick up that poor moggy, I'm sure you will have brought a lot of comfort to their owners. Yes this is the first DC, so no way of guessing when they'll decide to arrive!

Zoo sounds like a huge emotional upheaval for your DH and for you,it sounds as though you are being an amazing support to him. Flowers for you as you must be feeling shattered.

Wishing everyone a great rest of the day.
