Cleaning motivation thread - Summer 2016

The old thread has maxed out due to us being so busy cleaning so here is the new thread.

My list today:

• srip beds and put bedding on a wash done
• put fresh bedding on beds done
• do some laundry
• general tidy up
• wipe over bathroom done
• wash dishes done
• empty kitchen bin done
• tidy ds room

Morning all! Feeling less moany today

This morning I have:

Changed bedding
Washed dishes
Hoovered whole house
Tidied each room (only 3 rooms to tidy so not a big deal!)
Polished furniture

DH is making pulled pork for dinner.

Need to clean the shower and put a washing on.

DH and I now lazing on the sofa. Phew.

Good morning all!

Terrible weekend here. We've had a horrendous d&v bug so there's not been any housework done, other than the bare minimum of washing dishes, clothes and cleaning the bathroom.

The living room is an absolute mess, there's clothes all over the bedroom and utility room, and sick stains all over the hallway where dh didn't make it in time 😷

I have no idea where to start and I'm still feeling rotten :(

Oh no sorry to hear you got the bug over the weekend Crafty. Try and keep hydrated and stockpile bleach.

Today i have done:

• washed dishes
• wiped kitchen worktops
• made the beds
• put bleach down both loos
• tidied ds room
• sorted some of the laundry from yesterday
• general tidy up

Hi can I join ☺. Today I have done 3 loads of washing and some folding.
Washed up
Took bin out
Cleaned work tops most used in the kitchen
Then I fell asleep afer lunch.
Damn 😣

I've steam mopped the hallway carpet and got all the sick stains out, so despite having done nothing else, I'm counting today as a win!

Hi everyone, I went missing again - sorry! I was working on Friday, went away at the weekend then working again Monday and today. I'm off for 2 days now though so need to get the house sorted tomorrow, it's so grim - not a single room in the house is presentable and I have a mountain of washing to do.

I'm too tired to do anything tonight though after only 4 hours broken sleep last night. Early night for me then I'll crack on in the morning. My list for tomorrow is:

• tidy beds
• bring all dirty washing downstairs
• put washer on
• make packed lunches
• feed cats
• tidy bedrooms
• Hoover bedrooms, landing and stairs
• tidy living room
• dust and polish living room
• tidy hallway and shoe rack
• empty kitchen bins
• wash dishes and wipe over kitchen worktops
• move all crap off kitchen table
• clean out cat litter tray
• sweep and mop throughout downstairs
• bathe toddler
• clean and mop both bathrooms
• write shopping list
• clean out fridge
• go to Aldi

All these jobs need doing whilst juggling looking after the toddler.

So much for tomorrow being my day off!

We repainted all the ceilings white again today (amazing how grey they had become in places!)

Tidy living room and kitchen

Driving lesson
Visit post office
Meet DM and go to shops
Hoover whole house
Put away clean clothes
Put today's washing in tumble
(Baby pooped through her nappy 3 times today - once on the bouncy chair - so lots of washings done here today!!)

Tomorrow's list:

Wash, dry and put away dishes
Clean bathroom
Hoover whole house
Put bin out
Sort recycling out
Do a load of washing
Put a load in the tumble dryer
Buy present for cousin's baby
Tidy front garden
Go through books in the living room and take some to charity shop
Put painting things back in the loft

We'll see how it goes

Morning Fresh!

I'm up, baby is fed, changed and dressed and playing on her playmat.

So I've put a tumble on
Collected the load to go in the washing machine
Collected all the glasses etc from various places around the house and organised the dishes ready to wash
Tidied upstairs and bed is airing

Having breakfast then getting started properly!

Why 4 days fresh?

I've tidied 2 out of 3 bedrooms. I've got a bloody cold now so feeling a bit sorry for myself. I may just take dd to soft play instead 😂 I just can't be bothered. I really need my motivation back :(

4 days off work.... just feel I need to make good use of them

However I've just taken a few loads of washing upstairs and I'm knackered now

Ahh I see what you mean. Could you do the housework over two of those days, leaving you with two days free to enjoy yourself?

I've cleaned the bathroom :)

How's everyone feeling at yours Crafty?

Things went a bit off-piste yesterday and DH ending up clearing out the cupboard under the stairs. He's done a super job and we have loads of space to store the pram now.

I organised all of our gift wrapping things and also gutted the kitchen cupboards. So lots of things went to the tip!

The recycling still needs sorting and I have to hoover upstairs.

I think I'm doing okay. I've sorted a lot of stuff out. Moved things round. But still at that stage were it's a tip.

Also most of what I did yesterday was upstairs and now the kitchen is awful. We used every single plate yesterday. So the kitchen is my first job this morning.

More baby stuff arrived yesterday too, meaning that's now cluttering up the place and so it all the bloody cardboard!

Been at the doctor's with baby for her injections today. She's sleeping now so have got the dishes done and kitchen surfaces wiped.

Hi Handbags, For some reason this thread seems to have dried up, maybe because its summer? Anyway i've moved to the fledglings thread as its seems busier there and everyone is very chatty.

Hi everyone this has dropped off my threads! I just wanted to say hope you are all doing well and I am going to try and get back next week! I just don't have time to actually write down what I do (and it's not much!)

I'm a thread slag anyway so i'll probably end up coming back here anyway once this one picks up again, or maybe two time the two threads like a proper thread slag

So far today i have:

• done some internet shopping off amazon

I'm here again. I keep disappearing, I'm sorry! I've been majorly busy with work, housework and shopping etc plus it was the toddlers 2nd birthday yesterday so I've been rushed off my feet. It's ds' 15th birthday on Monday too so I've got that to organise as well. We've got some friends coming for a BBQ this afternoon though so I'm going to use this thread to get the house sorted today. I need to:

• wash breakfast dishes and wipe over kitchen
• dust bedrooms
• Hoover bedrooms, landing and stairs
• clean and mop both bathrooms
• tidy and dust living room
• sweep and mop throughout downstairs
• empty bins
• clean patio door Windows

I think that should make the house look presentable.

I just need to wait for the shower curtain to finish in the washer in 10 mins and hang it back up then I can shower and I'm done. Yay.

No doubt there'll be plenty cleaning later after the BBQ but for now the house is lovely and clean.
