The old thread has maxed out due to us being so busy cleaning so here is the new thread.

She's almost 2 (it's her birthday on the 20th). She's not settled at all whenever I've picked her up, she has had that horrible, uncontrollable sharp intake of breath every couple of minutes as she has cried so much when she's been there and her face has been all blotchy from all the sobbing. She's really not happy about it, bless her, and I feel so guilty leaving her like that. Luckily Dh will be home from work by 1pm so he can pick her up so she's only doing half days until she gets more used to it. I'm going to drop her off a little earlier than I need to though as I know I'll have a little cry myself so will need time to make myself look presentable! Lol

I'm glad your bath has helped with your acheyness, hopefully an early night will work wonders for you and you'll feel better in the morning.

Afreshstartplease · 03/07/2016 21:11

Oh dear bless her, does the nursery seem to have a good key person system? Someone she can build a bond with?

Kim82 · 03/07/2016 21:22

Yes, she has a key worker who is absolutely lovely and has spent every session solely with her trying to engage her with things. When I picked her up on Friday she was alone outside with her key worker, watering flowers and looking for birds so she seems to have worked out that she's an outdoor girl (she adores being in the garden) and she's so sweet with her. Hopefully the crying will start to die down soon and she'll start to enjoy being there. Fingers crossed!

Good evening everyone, I disappeared for a couple of days. Monday I didn't need to do anything as my lovely Ds had done all the housework whilst I was at work and had made a cup of tea for when I got in. What a little star!

Before I left for work today I:

  • tidied beds
  • ironed work clothes
  • put a load of washing in the machine

I got home at 1.45pm and have since done:

  • cleaned out fridge
  • went to Aldi
  • put shopping away
  • washed breakfast and dinner dishes
  • put washing in dryer
  • folded and put away yesterday's washing
  • made tea and cleaned up kitchen after
  • tidied living room
  • bathed toddler

All I need to do now is fold and put away washing when the dryer finishes (it has probably already finished tbh so I'll sort it after eastenders).

Kim82 · 05/07/2016 19:49

Tomorrow I have a bit more to get through, the two girls get home from Greece around 6.30pm and I cannot wait to see them, I've missed them so much so I want all the housework done before they get home so I can concentrate on them.

Day off tomorrow so the list is:

  • strip toddler's bed and remake all 3 girls' beds
  • tidy bedrooms
  • dust bedrooms
  • Hoover bedrooms, landing and stairs
  • clean and mop both bathrooms
  • wash breakfast dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • dust and polish living room
  • empty kitchen bins
  • sweep and mop throughout downstairs
celeste83 · 05/07/2016 22:21

Bless your son Kim. Thats a nice thought.

Today i have:

  • made beds
  • washed dishes
  • done some gardening, cut the grass
  • made tea
  • washed dishes
  • dettol'd kitchen worktops
  • bathed ds
  • bleached the loo in the bathroom and wiped basin whilst watching ds in bath

Well done on the new job Kim! Hope your wee girl is more settled at nursery too.

I cleaned the kitchen yesterday and did the tops of the cupboards (yuck) but now it's all squeaky clean I'm using it as extra storage so the kitchen is much less cluttered.

I've got visitors coming tomorrow morning to see DD. Got most things done this evening but have a few jobs for tomorrow:

Take out recycling
Put out landfill bin for collection
Wash dishes from tonight's dinner
Sweep floors downstairs
Put on a couple of those Yankee wax melt things
Air rooms
Make bed
Put a washing on
Put a tumble on

CraftyPenguin · 07/07/2016 12:05

Hi,

I've just found this thread - am I too late to join in?

I'm terrible with housework but now I'm a sahm I feel I really need to take on the lions share now!

So far today I've done 2 loads of washing, folded other clothes up and done the washing up. That's it. I distracted myself by making chocolate cornflake cakes and jelly Blush so as you can see, I really need the motivation!

handbags88 · 07/07/2016 12:33

Welcome in Crafty!

So far today I have done all the things on my list except putting the bin and recycling out.

Baby was wheezy so had a trip to the doctor's this morning. All fine, just a cold!

Went a bit mental and dismantled the cooker hood to clean it and change the filter (it was disgusting).

Now feeding baby and watching crap tv Grin

CraftyPenguin · 07/07/2016 13:18

How old is your baby handbags? Mine had a cold today too :( so extra clingy, wanting more cuddles etc so it's hard to get anything done!

handbags88 · 07/07/2016 17:33

She's 10 weeks - literally got nothing done after my last post. I think I've got the same thing and DH has come home feeling poorly too.

So baths, medicine and bed for all here tonight! Smile

It's horrible watching the wee ones feel ill Sad

CraftyPenguin · 08/07/2016 09:39

Same here too, all 3 of us are poorly. Last night's washing up only got done this morning - that never happens. I doubt much else will get done tbh. I need to do a few loads of washing though due to all the sick!

Afreshstartplease · 09/07/2016 07:09

Hope everyone who had been feeling poorly is now feeling better!

I had plans to meet up with someone this morning but haven't heard from them so god knows. I will plan cleaning anyway.

Last night I managed to tidy the living room toys and give it a hoover, also cleaned out pets and emptied kitchen bin.

First three jobs

Pots
Wash on
Dryer on

Afreshstartplease · 09/07/2016 09:16

Pots
Wash on
Dryer on

handbags88 · 09/07/2016 23:33

We're all better here!

Didn't get much done today, DM and DB came over to 'help' with my housework (despite having been told that i don't need any help) but made more mess for me to clear up tomorrow whilst repeatedly telling me to 'sit down, we'll do it' Hmm

you are not 'helping' you are messing up my house

And sneakily picking up the baby to cuddle her when I have just put her down for a much needed nap Angry

It's been a long day here, I am a grumpy cow Grin

Afreshstartplease · 10/07/2016 07:34

Oh dear handbags!

We don't really have any relatives who like to "help" like that. Good in the respect no one would dare come and try and wake a baby of mine, but also no one ever does genuinely help without being asked lol

So far today

Washer on
Sink filled

Next up

Dryer on
Fold dry washing
Wash pots

celeste83 · 10/07/2016 08:52

Morning,

They had the right intentions handbags but I wouldn't like anyone coming to my home to do my housework either i would find that annoying too.

Yesterday it was a really lovely sunny day which was great as we went down to the local regatta and went for a pizza on the way home. Today we'll just be mulling around the home.

My list today:

  • strip beds and put bedding on a wash
  • put fresh bedding on beds
  • do some laundry
  • general tidy up
OP posts:
