Cleaning motivation thread - Summer 2016

The old thread has maxed out due to us being so busy cleaning so here is the new thread.

Morning all, I need to sort the house today, not one single room is clean or tidy. So far today I have packed dd'd bags as she is going away with her friend at 11am today and won't be back until Thurs/Fri. It's her birthday on Tuesday too and it's the first birthday out of all four children that I'll have ever missed. 9 years old and fiercely independent already, she really wanted to go and doesn't care that she won't see us on her birthday! Little ratbag!

Anyway, today's list is:

• make cooked breakfast
• strip and remake mine and ds' beds (did the girls' yesterday)
• Hoover and dust bedrooms
• collect all dirty washing from around the house - it's bloody everywhere!
• washing
• fold and put away clean washing
• clean and mop both bathrooms
• tidy living room
• dust living room
• wash breakfast dishes and wipe over kitchen
• tidy hall
• sweep and mop throughout downstairs

I'm hoping dh might take the kids out for an hour or two so I can get stuck in without having to respond to "muuuuum!" every two minutes. Why do they never shout for their dad?!

Gosh Kim your lists always bowl me over lol. Tell me about it ds here is such a Mummy's boy but i cherish these day, it won't be long till he's embarrassed to have hugs and to play with Mummy no doubt

Lunchtime here, its turning into a lazy day at home for us, just what i wanted after weekends out and about of late

Done:
-fed ds
-washed dishes
-wiped kitchen worktop
-stripped the beds
-put bedding in the wash
-made beds
-wiped toothpaste off bathroom basin proper wrindes me up that does!
-put bedding to dry on the line
-second washing load on

Slow start from me today. Toddler is asleep, ds is out, dd2 has gone on holiday, I'm not sure where dh is and dd1 is playing on her phone - it's lovely and peaceful! A friend popped round this morning so I haven't managed any cleaning yet. All I've done is the cooked breakfast, collected all the washing, done one load of washing hung it out and put another load in. That's as far as I've got.

Toddler is due to wake up soon so I'm hoping husband reappears and will take her out somewhere (or at least entertain her) then I can do the house.

Hello everyone! So excited for you Fresh!

We're just back after being at my Mum's. I did a big clean up/tidy before we left so not looking too bad here.

Today's list:

Put fresh bedding on beds
Hoover
Put a tumble on
Unpack bags and put a washing on
Clean insides of windows and mirrors
Shove some potatoes in the oven for tea
Water the houseplants and plants in containers outside

If I can be arsed I will organise the airing cupboard. It's full of messy piles of towels and bedding

Still nowhere near done as dh has been next to useless today and has now gone out til gone 7pm to help his friend with something - grrrr! I have managed:

• make cooked breakfast done

• fold and put away clean washing done 3 loads so far
• clean and mop both bathrooms cleaned downstairs bathroom but not mopped
• tidy living room done but toddler has messed up again
• dust living room
• wash breakfast dishes and wipe over kitchen done
• tidy hall
• sweep and mop throughout downstairs swept kitchen

Looks like I'll be spending tomorrow morning getting the rest done before work at 1pm - I was hoping to get it all done today so I could relax tomorrow. Oh well...

I'll try and get a few more bits done as and when I can but the toddler is being a clingon and hasn't left me alone all day.

I've done literally the bare minimum all day. Can't blame the DC as they've been very good. I've just been exhausted. Not sure why.

I've done a few wash loads and some pots, given kitchen a quick wipe around and got the kids to tidy their toys before we started baths

Once they are in bed I would like to

Finish pots
Wipe worktops
Run hoover around
Put some washing away

You're exhausted because you're pregnant fresh!

My DH is being useless too - made me write him a list of chores at lunchtime and has farted about watching the Olympics and playing on his phone since then and done bloody nothing!

I made up the bed but am still waiting for him to do the rest...We'll see how it goes...

I managed to dust the living room and fold and put away the rest of the washing. Looks like the rest will have to wait til tomorrow.

I put away the washing and that's all

DH folded some washing but left piles of it lying everywhere downstairs. No other chores done.

I've gone to bed. Will have it all to do tomorrow, when I could have had it all done today. Lazy git.

Morning everyone. I'm up and have just dropped the toddler off at nursery. Today's list is:

• strip and remake mine and ds' beds
• washing
• dust bedrooms
• Hoover bedrooms, landing and stairs
• put away pile of crap on the stairs
• clean and mop upstairs bathroom
• mop downstairs bathroom
• wash breakfast dishes and wipe over kitchen
• tidy hall
• sweep and mop throughout downstairs

I'm at work at 1pm so it needs to be done this morning and leave me with time to shower and iron my clothes before then but it's brew and breakfast time first though.

I've had to phone in sick as spd is awful

Feeling sorry for myself now

Done so far:

washed dishes
wiped kitchen worktop
emptied kitchen bin
made beds
bleached upstairs loo

Still need to:

bleach downstairs loo
hoover all rooms
put away laundry and do some ironing
general tidy up

Yet again, I've done nothing apart from sit on my backside all morning! Right, I have an hour before I need to start getting ready for work, let's see how much I can get done...

Oh no fresh poor you! Have a relaxing day.

I have done a load of washing and hung it outside to dry.
Cleaned up dd's paint brushes which were all dried up.
Done handwashing
Taken clean washing upstairs ready to put away.
Dusted living room

Lunchtime for toddler soon and then my auntie is taking her for a walk so she can nap and hopefully I can get some jobs done. Baby dependant.
I'm hoping to tidy living room
Put washing away
Hoover living room

Then when dh comes home I'm hoping to brush and mop. And put the washing that's outside away.
Online shop is being delivered also.

Well, my hour is up and with ds and dd1's help we have done:

• wash breakfast dishes and wipe over kitchen ds is currently doing
• tidy hall done
• sweep and mop throughout downstairs dd2 is currently doing

So, all done - yay! I need to jump in the shower now and get ready for work. Fingers crossed the house is still tidy when I get home...

Fresh - hope you are resting up

I've taken the baby for a walk round the park this morning and she's been cluster feeding since 1:30. I've had snacks and watching a box set. Left all the housework for DH

Dh was an hour late home from work! So straight into shopping being delivered and dd1's tea which she's just eating now.

I have put the washing away
Hoovered living room
Brushed and mopped
Put shopping away
Just having a 2 min sit down while dh gives dd her tea and dd2 naps then will go and see if the washing outside is dry.

Ah minty I love watching box sets whilst feeding...managed to rack up an enviable knowledge of American dramas while off with my first!

Oh and I tidied living room before hoovering but it looks much the same now

Had a pretty restful day

About 430 I realised that a) the kids needed feeding again, b) so did I, and c) no one could eat because dinner mess was all over the kitchen

Since then I've

Made dcs tea
Thrown any rubbish away
Reloaded the dryer
Reloaded the washer
Sent dry washing up

Everywhere is a tip but I'm not feeling much pain and although I'm still tired feel much better than this morning

Forgot I had changed my username - it's handbags!

I will be catching up on the cleaning this weekend too. We have been away for a short break in London this week and although i left the house tidy when we left i need to catch up on the bathrooms and kitchen, aswell as the usual weekend chores and the weekly food shop.
